    WTF?

  • wont be 35 $ to the consumers, guarented that verizon will but this thing out as there ipad competetor for over 350 $ 10x the original..... capitalism at its best = (

  • @2ruthfox82 Verizon can't change the price in India. This is funded by the Government, so verizon can't do anything.

    BUWUHAHAHA

  • @2ruthfox82 Atleast, the Government decided to reduce the price.

  • Android is linux based. this review needs fixing. Can't believe they make anyone a reporter (or a technologist) these days

  • Similar EKEN 'apads' cost arounf $100-$150. Are a tad bit slower, and with less peripheral connectors. No way this is going to be $35.

  • laptop for peasants

  • I am sorry but u copied the video I uploaded...

  • Yo quiero media docena.

  • I want 2

  • I'M 12 AND WHAT IS THIS AND WHERE CAN I GET IT

  • @paranoiaAgent11 WFC about ur age!

  • Let reiterate that the cost of this tablet is 35$ without any commercial taxes, and not on subsidizing. On subsidizing by the GoI the cost further reduces by half to around 20 $ and it is the price 17-20$ at which it will be given to poor students.

  • @johnxxx9 No way it will go down Price will go up it will cost around atleast 4000RS

  • where can I buy it?

  • Android is Linux-based! Yes... GNU/Linux is that good and is that easy to use... Get used to it.

  • "... as it flashed, Android. Opposed to the rumors, that it was linux based"

If it's an Android tablet it is Linux based. Android is built on top of a Linux kernel.

  • @MrTomDignan

True! But In India when someone says Linux ,they picture Redhat Linux in their heads not Android

  • @anatabayak

N why do you think so?!

FYI, It's India buddy, half of the new softwares & operating systems, are written by some & some Indian.

Here, In US, people don't even understand what is Operating system for god sake !! ;)

  • @kedarnevergone

Don't get so defensive buddy,I'm a CSE student myself, any of my lectures don't know much about android.Lets not bring US into this, rather celebrate what this video means to children of our country.cheers! :)

  • great job India! Lulz

  • Don't think I would get it, for tech support etc. I would stick with the IPAD, or wait until the price goes down.

  • @UglyBetty70

IPad is 500$ (or even more).

    This is 35$.

Rather then gifting a single IPad to some needy kid on Christmas, I would buy such 2-3 Tiny Andriod laptops & donate it to poor kids here. (If you are interested, check out NYCare.org or some charity organization. In New york, (or say any other city), there are lots of way to help kids on Christmas eve...)

  • @kedarnevergone If I did donate tech. too kids, it would be MAC or PC's, I just don't believe on giving anyone a company product that I am not familiar with the brand name. Mac I know from experience sells amazing computers and have used the IPAD and will purchase it when the price gets lower. The IPADS price is crazy right now, but the price will go down once it gets competition or newer models are released.

  • @UglyBetty70 so, you're for giving them a pc built by any numerous companies that charge from 300-2000$ usd? They've already been sending kids computers with versions like the OLPC which is about 150$ per laptop. Honestly at 35$ and looking at what it can do in real time, this thing is a steal. I admit that perhaps the "brand" isn't there, but realistically could you work out the budget for sending every kid an apple or a pc? It just isn't possible. This however offers a solution.

  • @bradagain The reliability for this brand is also a problem, it has not developed a reputation in North America yet..the brand/company name is huge when I consider purchasing a product even for other people. If it's only $35.00, how do they get it that cheap without cutting on quality or cutting on the workers pay of labor?

  • @bradagain just sayin..

  • @UglyBetty70 Tech products are a lot cheaper than you think, what we pay for is the brand, markup and I hate to say it, Gimick. I know companies produce things to make money but given the fact that the cost of an iPad is 260$ to produce but the starting price is 500, it seems entirely possible to build a low cost tablet alternative. Mashable . com had an article on the actual ipad cost

Reliability is relative, show me one tech product that doesn't have problems and i'll call you a liar

  • @bradagain Oh, I believe that the companies mark products up like no tomorrow..

and all products do have problems. However, reputation is big for me, how the company treats and pays workers is also a factor in purchasing the product..Thats the clinch, I don't buy from places like walmart who support companies that pay workers fifteen cents an hour. I'll pay more for a reputable company even with the markup.

  • @bradagain Once I know these facts from this company and they start talking about the company itself..maybe.

  • @bradagain Apple for example admitted too using child labor in sweatshops when building the IPHONE product. Alot of people don't know this information before purchasing products and what work ethics it supports.

  • I want it for Navigation and eMails not learning.

  • I will believe it when I can order one

  • going to india buying 20 of these and selling them in US for $75 bucks :)

  • Where can i get one O_O yum

  • watch when and if it comes to america, BOOM, automatically $150-300 bucks

  • apple sucks my suck

  • @ginywiny suck huh

  • Similar to iPad, but WAY CHEAPER.

  • I WANT ONE!!!! FUCK THE IPAD!

  • i want one

  • why the FUCK would you pay hundreds of dollars for an ipad?

  • now if ALL COMPUTERS was this cheap....

  • wtf? i want this thing, ill even pay $40

  • this owns ipad. rofl

  • thats is awesome Props to ya'll this will help a lot of ppl who cant afford expensive Pc's

  • "low-cost computing-cum-access device"

That is straight from the description.

    XD

  • I'm really impressed. India is showing it is soon going to be a world leader.

  • Android IS linux based. Fix your review please.

  • Android it a linux based operating system. What gives?

  • Interesting device, but this video looks more like an advertisement other than a video review.

  • I hope this gets off the ground. Access to information is the best way to combat MegaAIDS.

  • This sounds like an ad. And, on top of that, it's not really a $35 laptop because it isn't for sale anywhere. It may as well be $1...

  • COOL. I could buy this thing just to try it out and not worry that I just spent $300 on a piece of junk if I think it sucks.

  • Erm, Android is based on Linux.

  • Where can I aquire one of these amazing devices?!?!?!
