  • I find the stance at the end a bit odd, almost like your not pushing through your hips at the end? is that being done for a reason? or just the preferred way? what ever it is it is still very strong and far more than i can do. :)

  • You don't have the power to say 'lightweight' only Ronnie Coleman can say it.

  • Great form! Unlucky on the last rep!

  • His form looks flawless! I like how you went for number 9 ! And failed you took it to failure brother nice work.

  • i did 325 the other day for 8 and i thought that was good. guess i need to hit the squat rack a lil more often lol! well done sir very strong

  • Beast!

  • i think its hilarious that retards come on here and preach "perfect or flawless" form when yet when not behind a computer screen they cant even pull 405 outta da fuckin rack. people bitch me out all the time for cheating a little but im also using huge weight. so i tell them allright big guy lets see squat 405 lbs, i dont even tell them they need perfect form id just like to seem them lift it lol. and they dont talk to me again after they just walk away without lifting it lol.

  • Juice...............

  • DAMN man your a beast.....

  • Wanna get some better hip drive in there. You're lifting with your chest(lower back), not your hips(hamstrings)

    all the best!

  • went 90 degrees, good form bro!

  • awesome job!

  • your leaning forward to much and taking the weight off your legs onto ur back...

  • nice form man

  • I go deeper with my squats, but then again, I don't use those insane amounts of weights for sets. Good job.

  • agreed with some of the other comments bro... your definatly getting to far forward knees are probably going in front of the toes and rounding the back to much.. id say you got a solid 4-5 legit good form reps in ya though....

  • you aren't doing it properly, too much weight is leaning forward

  • Very impressive!!!

It is hard to tell from this angle, but it looks like you knees travel too much forward push them apart. I would recommend start doing box squats, they are really good for improving your form.

  • Lower back...ouch

  • nice man keep it up

  • Nice to see someone lifting heavy without a belt

  • I assume you'll be posting a video of you doing this weight with better form? Don't be like all the other 125lb 14 year olds who sit back and criticize lifts they'd never be able to do if they lived 2 lifetimes.

  • I think...the hip joint socket should go below the patella (knee cap) for it to be considered a full squat. But then again, I'm a Mark Rippetoe adherent.

    Not everybody's cup of tea...

  • Looks like his back was gonna snap.

  • Very well done. A lot of guys don't maintain so much control when going heavy. Perfect form.

  • no man that was shitty form he needs to arch his back more so the weight can target his glutes and hams, thats perfect form. What he was doing was more close to good mornings. Regardless of bad form he was still performing a squat

  • As I mentioned before, I assume you'll be posting a video of how to do squats properly.

  • no i wont be posting any videos but youre ignorant when you say thats perfect form, why dont you educate yourself on how to train and do good form or better yet just google it and see if im wrong

  • There is no single absolute way to do squats. In fact there are about a dozen practiced at the highest levels of powerlifting and bodybuilding. Many powerlifters have very similar form to the one in the video. The technique in the video is how many people squat to avoid knee injury. But hey, if it's on google then it must be right!

If you're not going to post any videos of your own then I have no interest in reading your armchair bodybuilding commentaries.

  • then dont read them, i agree with the fact that there are plenty of ways to squat, but theres only one correct form that greatly prevents injury mainly to your knees and lowerback and what im telling you is that he's not squatting to correct form. He would actually be able to put up more weight if he did it correctly with an arched back as opposed to having his upper back leaned forward. Now that can lead to injury

  • @ffryan this is a half squat, half good morning. nobody needs to post a video of themselves doing squats correctly to prove this. And if a person can "squat" more weight than someone else, it doesnt automatically make them more knowledgeable about proper squat form.

  • @nickmayer152 I think his form wasn't that bad but I think he had been arching his back enough, its hard to tell. Either way I think he should try sit back more in the squat, doing box squats, since I started doing them I'm able to keep as deep as parallel, if you check my video in my profile I was obviously high by an inch or two. I think if he tried box squatting he would gain a lot of strength in those muscles that you specified and be able to sit back into the squat. What do you think?

  • Youre squat form wasnt bad but all you need to do man is put your upper back backwards and arch your back so your ass is sticking out. I used to do squats like the guy in this video and I could never get stronger because my back was always hurting but the more I arched my back the more the weight targeted the glutes which is the muscle that can put up alot of weight and I became stronger. I haven't gone for a PR but last time I trained legs I did 455*8 and no pain

  • @nickmayer152 Thanks man, I'm taller, like 6' 3 so its tough for me to get down there but since I started doing box squats I think my form has improved immeasurably. I'm able to sit back more and keep my back more straight which allows me to activate my hips a lot more. 455 for 8 is definitely impressive. I hope to be there soon, within two years time lol. I train naturally so my gains are somewhat slow but I'm patient.

  • Negative part of the lift is just as important as the explosive part look at gymnasts they have huge ass shoulders cause of this.

  • lol doesnt it seem like it takes him forever to go all the way down in the downward motion

  • "Light weight" lol

I love the fact u even managed to get Ronnie as your training partner.

  • Couldn't have been Ronnie. He didn't follow it up with "yeaaaah, budaaay!"

  • Good squats. not like some of the rubbish on youtube.

    5 Stars from me.

  • if been feeling alittle pain doing deeos squats what do you recomend...

  • Good power bro...5 stars.

  • Good Lift. Good spotters, caught the back rounding. What weight you at now?

  • thanks. i'm between 215-220 right now.

  • Cool, I'm a little heavier, but doing my pre-contest so strength at my top priority. Do you do any speed days to work on explosion from the hole?

  • poor blakey

  • knee cap is fuked forever?

  • no... it doesnt hurt with a wider stance.

  • what happened to it??

  • your old squat videos were a lot better

  • i had to change my form/stance after a knee injury.

  • bskola: I'm sorry to hear about your knee injury. How did you injure it?

  • an accident... i slammed my knee cap into a stationary metal object.

  • Ow. how long to heal?

  • YOUR A BEAST !!! CONGRADS !! I'll see yuo at 500 lbs . PEACEEEEEEEEEE

  • PERFECT squats!

  • no wraps!?

jesus my knee's hurt watching that!!
