I cannot stand this phone. It stalls ALL THE TIME...texting can take minutes to send a simple text as it suffers slowdown.

Buttons all over the place, so just picking it up is dangerous. The battery life is the worst I have ever seen. I have to charge it at least twice a day.

Camera is terrible...seems to turn people orange.

The weak back is also a turn off......put i cannot take it off.

I simply hate this phone....but love verizon !!

No, it uses GSM technology (That means that it doesn't use SIM) So you cant insert a AT&T SIM in there.

Is this more of a business phone? I have the LG Dare right now and, I am not that impressed with it. I like to use my phone for texting and Mobile IM, I don't necessarily need all of those extra applications provided by Verizon Wireless. I would like to get a devise providing a easy to use messaging devise with a quick access to the messaging screen, why I did not like the dare, because of its Keyboard, does anyone have any recommendations? Duud he was using the stylus to touch the screen if you watch the video you would know, you do not need to use the stylus, you can use fingers as like the iphone or ipod touch.

Since it's a Windows Mobile 6 phone you can get a HUGE variety of 3rd party applications that will allow you to do almost anything. A good one for WM6 is IM+, which costs about $30 and allows you to be logged on to AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Google, etc all at the same time. I have this installed on my Moto Q9m and PPC6700.

my brother has this fone and i got the samsung i760 and to tel the truth the i760 is a litle btter since the call quality and the i760 has a better UI but this fone has a bigger screen and faster response to program so still great fone

You can use the wi-fi without incurring data charges buty wi-fi is a huge battery drain. Verizon has plans that have voice+data combined which I think makes data $40 on each plan then they have ones that include unlimited messaging

Nice review. I'm curious if the wi-fi can be used separately from Verizon's data plans. $45 a month unlimited data seems crazy, but this would be cool if using the wi-fi connection to surf the web etc.. Can wi-fi be used w/o incurring minute or data usage?

I actually seen your review on the detroit free press web site. I can't seem to find anyone who can answer my questions. I think this is actually the HTC Tytn with a few minor changes. Anyway, Verizon keeps the specs pretty close to the vest and theres no telling if they will ever make VZnav avasilable. They recently did on the BB8830 but I am going to pick this up today. Just need to decide if I by a seperate GPS or a bluetooth unit and app for the phone.

Anybody know about the GPS capabilities? I have been told that it has E911, but will I need to add a bluetooth gps receiver in order to run a GPS app on this or will the app work on the standalone 6800. Great job on the review!

Sorry for two comments, the first one was exceeding the limit so I had to break it into two parts.

I was just wondering if you've experienced any power / battery issues with the 6800, I really want to consider getting it, I'm just concerned about not having any longevity in the battery life. It's just not practical having a device that'll only stay charged for a few hours

I had the xv6700 and the phone was fantastic, but I had some battery issues, it would only stay charged for about 18 hours with nothing running in the background and with wifi and blue tooth off. I had the unit replaced and purchased a new battery for it. The new battery and replacement phone worked wonderfully for about a week and a half, after that, it went back to doing what the other phone did.

I am also debating over the i760 or this phone. my biggest question is that this one says it can have an 8gb micro sd card. i was wondering if, with this installed, it could act as a music player and hold like 2000 songs. anyone know if this would work without it slowing down a ton and without it being a pain to search through songs and artists? the i760 already has a music player but it doesnt say how big the sd slot is, but then the 760 camera isnt as good. dunno which phone is better yet????
