Gas airsoft guns don't use 'air' at all (unless they're old school HPA rigs), they use either propane, propene, chlorodifluoromethane or tetrafluoroethane. 'Air' is a mixture of Nitrogen (70%), Oxygen (28%) and other gasses that vary depending on your location (2%).

PLCE Webbing is still standard issue in the British Military, so there's nothing wrong with that, and Viper gear, albeit cheap, is more than strong enough for most airsofters needs.

BTW, have you guys ever played a night time game of Airsoft? I managed to get into one a week ago and the place supplied me with free glow in the dark BBs. Its an epic feel when glowing green streams of BBs arches over your head.
