I saw "Franks Wild Years" at the Briar Street Theater in Chicago, c 1986. It was a limited run, and fantastic. /// The "Blue Man Group" came in next, and has been there ever since: Not so fantastic. Unlimited run, forever, apparently.
i've just saw Tom yesterday in Milan.. i ve waited for him for years.. too many. He was great. thank you all you for loving Tom and a song like this..
From Argentina: Thanks for sharing this great video. So comic Tom in the piano at the beginning. He is really a great artist. It's a shame that the great public is not noticed about him, but maybe the great public don´t give a shit. Great piece of art, touches my heart, maybe because I'm drunk in Christmas and I lost my father recently.
My favourite ever song.. love it to bits, my son introduced me to it, it will be forever special. I took my son and his mate to the graveyard on halloween at midnight once, bizarre? yes! But they were 12, it was an ancient graveyard! Such a sad song, makes me cry..
Larry Taylor. Great bass player, i've listened to him all the way back to Canned Heat. I've met him and spoken to him a few times, he's a nice guy, not hung up with any kind of big time musician attitude. uhh..Tom's all right too :)
The reason that I placed the Larry Taylor fan club remark on there is because I was at The Vancouver Real Gone show. After the show Casey, Brain, and Larry came out. Brain and Casey were yelling Larry Larry. Larry was smiling ear to ear and looked over and said that Tom had his fan club but Casey and Brain was HIS fan club:)
I'm happy to give you full credit, I think you may have sent me a copy directly and since it wasn't up I went ahead and placed it, not sure at this point who I had gotten it from. I think it's up on the ftp might be easier to burn a DVD from that. Mitch

This song kills me. Brings me to tears.

I think he sings it too hard here, instead of light and soft like on Franks Wild Years. I still love it though.

I get chills every time I hear this song. This is the song that will be playing at my funeral.

Maybe the best song of all time (yeah I said it). This version not as good as the recorded. Hard to get Tom straight enough to sing.

What are you talking about? He hasn't had a drink in years. Maybe you're thinking about Shane....

This tune is great at the end of the movie "Smoke" with Harvey Kitel. It really makes its mark and adds something special. Tom is a true artist.
