  • I saw "Franks Wild Years" at the Briar Street Theater in Chicago, c 1986. It was a limited run, and fantastic. /// The "Blue Man Group" came in next, and has been there ever since: Not so fantastic. Unlimited run, forever, apparently.

  • Tom Waits is God.

    I worship him.

  • This song heard live would bring a tear to a glass eye.. Genius Waitsy

  • We saw him in Edinburgh on the Glitter and Doom tour - 5 rows from the front, I think he could be God...

  • i've just saw Tom yesterday in Milan.. i ve waited for him for years.. too many. He was great. thank you all you for loving Tom and a song like this..

anybody has the whole show video?

    thanks

  • One of the most important songs ever.

  • Mich26: Thanks for your beatiful words about my father. The best for you and the people you love in this Christmas. I wish you a happy new year too.

  • From Argentina: Thanks for sharing this great video. So comic Tom in the piano at the beginning. He is really a great artist. It's a shame that the great public is not noticed about him, but maybe the great public don´t give a shit. Great piece of art, touches my heart, maybe because I'm drunk in Christmas and I lost my father recently.

  • My favourite ever song.. love it to bits, my son introduced me to it, it will be forever special. I took my son and his mate to the graveyard on halloween at midnight once, bizarre? yes! But they were 12, it was an ancient graveyard! Such a sad song, makes me cry..

  • Larry Taylor. Great bass player, i've listened to him all the way back to Canned Heat. I've met him and spoken to him a few times, he's a nice guy, not hung up with any kind of big time musician attitude. uhh..Tom's all right too :)

  • I've met Larry. I know one of his daughters. Nice guy. Great bass player.

  • The reason that I placed the Larry Taylor fan club remark on there is because I was at The Vancouver Real Gone show. After the show Casey, Brain, and Larry came out. Brain and Casey were yelling Larry Larry. Larry was smiling ear to ear and looked over and said that Tom had his fan club but Casey and Brain was HIS fan club:)

  • man this is lovely!

  • I'm happy to give you full credit, I think you may have sent me a copy directly and since it wasn't up I went ahead and placed it, not sure at this point who I had gotten it from. I think it's up on the ftp might be easier to burn a DVD from that. Mitch

  • I'm going to Take it With Me When I Go....

  • Green Grass on my funeral

  • All the World is Green will play at my funeral.

  • untouchable. thanks tom.

  • Free Tommy from the internet. die youtube!

  • ?????

  • Thank you. Amazing. :)

  • This song kills me. Brings me to tears.

  • I think he sings it too hard here, instead of light and soft like on Franks Wild Years. I still love it though.

  • I get chills every time I hear this song. This is the song that will be playing at my funeral.

  • Awesome.

  • my wife and i had our first dance to this at our wedding. so, so good. tom waits for no man! thefenton

  • Great song for drunken bar singing...

  • Maybe the best song of all time (yeah I said it). This version not as good as the recorded. Hard to get Tom straight enough to sing.

  • What are you talking about? He hasn't had a drink in years. Maybe you're thinking about Shane....

  • This tune is great at the end of the movie "Smoke" with Harvey Kitel. It really makes its mark and adds something special. Tom is a true artist.

  • definitely my favorite song by tom waits. much thanks for posting.
