@laxboi905 surprizingly your right on that part about it splashing but it's also to release the pressure the gas makes if the top was not open like that it would push all the gas through the carb and into the engine flooding it out i've worked on dirt bikes for 10 years.

i honestly think the bike in this video needs one. Its basically a breather that vents out the crank case. You only need one if you the following mods ported engine (not stock), ported exhaust, racing head, etc. So ya you only need it if youre running alot of mods and/or if youre riding your bike for a long, consistant time. Its mostly only for track/race bikes. Its overall job is t make sure your bike dosent overheat.
