Right now its night time on Planet Earth on the other side. Real World Universe isn't life where I'm at right now listening to Rock Music on a Cloudy Day. There is Light on one side and Pitch Black on the Other. That's how we should approach life.
You seem to be using a Cannon 40 or 50 D. Has it been converted for astro photography? You also seem to be shooting raw files. Do you find an advantage over shooting fits. files?
i love that celestron 1100.i have a ten inch meade rcx400(now acf400).just wondering if that was a canon camera and what type(rebel xt,xsi,d40 etc...)?thanks.
Thanks for the vid, the Eagle Nebula really is impressive. It's only a real adventure when you leave behind the comforts of home, so sleeping in the car ought to do it! Good luck in Europe!
Anyone wanting to know about the 'scope, have a look at the Jupiter vid on this channel. It goes into detail about the telescope, which is a rather good 11" Schmidt-Cassegrain type. I assume the camera is the one which features in many of the BITU vids - dunno what sort, but a good digital SLR. It's easy to mount a camera on a telescope.
The only place I could truly study astronomy is on a seclusive camping trip - like the time my brother, some of his friends, and I went camping in Washington State in 1991.
Nice to see that you are still posting videos on this channel. I cannot wait until your next expedition. Maybe you can make videos like this while you are in Europe.
I heard that a super nova whipped out the pillars of creation.
This is by far one of the best channels on youtube. Amazing.
You should have put a link to the actual photo in your video description though.. I'd love to see how that came out. I'm amazed that you were able to avoid star trails from the rotation of the earth. I get bad trailing just from 30 second exposure on my crappy little camera.
Nice. I know you're busy with plenty of other projects, but any chance you could post a quick run-down of what kit you use, and techniques for taking such pics?
actually the telescope must have some tipe of callibration. and that must take place during the day not night. sorry for such a bad english...he is stupid anyway. he thinks taht the earth has 6000yrs =))
It sucks that no man will ever visit the Pillars of Creation. :(

Are these colors the actual color of the Nebula or is the color enhanced?

2:15 No way! I wish I had to funds to afford me a good telescope to explore the night sky.

Wow, that's VERY impressive. Did you take a dark frame / flat frame to get the contrast so high, or is the CCD just that good?

Damn, Tf00t. Investing in a S.U.V might be a smart idea.

his telescope has tracking abilities...the scope moves as the earth moves to avoid star trails.
