*Sigh.* I'm so tired of androgynous / effeminate / gay or transexual characters being villains. I think it insidiously makes people think that in real life they're evil, which is far from the truth.
@krat0s9001 Kuja isn't androgynous or effeminate? What planet are you from? You need to reevaluate your priorities if you're offended at your "fav villain" being associated with "any of that" and not "any of that" being associated with a villain.
@krat0s9001 You said "any of that." And as I said, if you're more concerned about your "fav villain" being associated with being gay than gay people being associated with a villain--well, you're a neanderthal.
@rgur90x No, actually there have been extensive studies done on how the androgynous/gay/lesbian characters in media have often been characterized as evil. I think they would just like to be heroes for once and/or included in name and not just character design.
@rgur90x Haha, sorry for that. I meant it would be nice to have openly gay, lesbian or transgender heroes. I mean, all of the protagonists of FF are straight. With the huge gay fan base the FF series has, you'd think they'd have a LGBT character somewhere along the line, especially if 10% or more of the human population is gay/lesbian or bisexual.
@dralockhart Is the FF series especially popular among LGBTers? Never would have guessed...I just happen to be an FF fan who just happens to be (mostly) gay.
The real test is when a movie, TV show or RPG comes out (no pun intended) where it's revealed that the main protagonist happens to be gay - but his/her sexuality is of almost no importance to the plot or theme.
@KarlBonner1982 I have lots of gay friends who love FF. I completely agree. It's like how the "Ellen" sitcom tanked when she came out. I wish more TV shows, films and video games would pull this. We need positive LGBT characters in the media. It's through relationships that people grow more accepting, and people do indeed form some kind of bond with characters in their favorite media.
@dralockhart now that you say it, i remember this evil gay couple in the first season of sailor moon. but they also already had a non-evil lesbian couple in sailor moon about 15 years ago. so i guess they ff series could come up with something like that by now too. but i still dont think its really necessary. it just doesnt really bother me all that much to be honest.
@rgur90x Actually Nephlite and Zoisite (don't remember their names in the Japanese version) came long before Sailors Neptune and Venus. I think what bothers me is that the gay and lesbian characters never portray the main protagonist in a video game. They're usually villains who have some kind of mental instability, although the major psychological and medical associations agree homosexuality is not a mental disorder.
my favorite boss battle of the game is coming up in a little bit (: oh yeah 300 ripped of ff9 wow just holy crap or maybe they never saw that scene who knows?
Great video and excellent cliffhanger. So, do you know what you will be doing at the start of Disc 4, Joe? Are you going to do some optional side quests, fight Ozma, or go straight for the final dungeon? Also, have you decided what your final party is going to be yet?
I'm probably going to do Ozma as a special after I finish the game. When I start the 4th disc, I'll do other optional quests, and then go for the final dungeon. I'm not sure what my final party is yet.
Mist Mist Mist Mist Mist Mist... did i scare you Josephine? and with Kuja i think thats exacally what i would do if i was gonna die and i was that powerful... DESTROY EVERYTHING!!!

@dralockhart i really really doubt gayy/transsexual/ androgynous people would interpret that into it.
