  • I remember Canberra from when I was a little girl. Then as a 30+ year old, I moved there for nearly 20 years.

  • In one of Judiths live interviews, she calls herself humble becuase she had to sew all her own clothes, Judith was ahead of herself and the times, Judith is one classy and fashional dresser, women today should emulate what a proper woman is...... Judith Durham!

  • @tom2020 What she was and is is a Goddess...

  • 懐かしい!! 仙台在住 63歳

  • haha, there is a mistake in the music video: he is reading, but the picture shows all 4 looking at the statue! min. 1:12

  • gotta love real music like this! X

  • oh is it possible to bring back the 1960's again? at least the fashion, architecture, people, & music?

  • This song still applies today=====they were way ahead of their time with this classic----except Peter, Paul and Mary had a hit of this song first!

  • Perfect song, perfect harmony, and she has one of the most perfect voices of all time

  • They were singers, not our current "entertainers". When you try to be everything for everyone you are nothing for nobody. These folks focused on their talent, singing and as such didn't need all the "enhancements" that new entertainers need.

  • Wow! Had never heard this song by The Seekers. This is some really really great stuff. Judith Durham, and the boys, are just wonderful.

  • Best version of this classic song EVER!!!!!!!! I like it much better at this pace than the one that Peter Paul and Mary take.

  • Ah, folk music! You cannot do better. Really healing to listen to. Love Judith!

  • koala is delicious

  • What movie is this from?

  • We seldom see such pure talent any more, let's treasure this moment.

  • @dumboldon What's so talented about singing someone else's song while draining every ounce of emotion it had originally contained?

  • they did the theme to the movie "GEORGIE GIRL"...check it and the movie out!!!!

  • They look sort of like a southern gospel group. Amen, Brother!

  • Canberra is a shithole!

  • @dazzini82 Any place is what you make it. Canberra happens to be a lovely town and you just have to get out there and appreciate it. In you mind Canberra is a "shithole" because (perhaps) you are!! Like they say "Life is what YOU make of it. Cheers.......

  • @stratamanager STILL A SHITHOLE!

  • why is he trying to sing with a dodgy Irish accent?! lol!

  • Well, thanks to ninnies like Bob Dylan and co, the times certainly DID change ... and we've all been a'scrapin' in the Total Mess ever since!!

  • The times did change thanks to the worlds folk singers. The worlds folk singers need to dust off their guitars ,for there is much wrong in the world again. You changed things for the better once and you can do it again.Take care ADonovan43

  • @ADonovan43 WOW thats my thoughts also ,where are they when you need them ,,,,sat on their arses like me+you ,,,,,,we need a wakeup call ,,,,even though it maybe to late ,

  • @honkydudeman Not if you read my book, 'Australia Imploded!"

Not ALL of us just sat on our backsides!

  • @ADonovan43 Yes; they did change ... and we've all been paying for it ever sinceROFL!!

  • Great singing, it's unusual in that this was one of the original protest songs and its interesting to see the clean cut Seekers singing it.

  • @grimTales1 Yes; in reality, the Seekers really didn't take to much of the philosophical and religious change either ... so one would have to think that it wasn't sung out of Conviction for any better future place led by American liberals.

Perhaps all invloved musically, realized that the song, as music, would be perfect for their blend and at least fitted their 'semi-folk- style in nature.

  • She has the most perfect female folk music voixe of all time. And what harmony! And what a powerful and perfect song Dylan wrote!

  • Their talent transcends the fashion incongruities of a production over which they had no creative control. Love Dylan. But the Seekers can sing...

  • i preferred the vice squad version the best version by far....check it out

  • I preferred Bob Dylan's version especially the one in the beginning of Watchmen. This is excellent singing though.

  • This is great! Music video before MTV.

  • Just because people sang this song didn't mean they were politically active, just that it was a very popular song at the time and to do a rendition was probably for popular financial reasons instead.

  • @gypsydog24 It's really a politically neutral song, and it's applicable no matter who wins or loses.

  • Glad to see this back.

Is Judith in white gloves, singing a Dylan protest song, supposed to be deliberately incongruous? Or is this just how 1966 Australians dressed when they went to their capital?

  • Comment removed

  • She is dressed as a young LADY of the day would have dressed, check out the other women walking by.

  • I do like that hat though
