Although the teacher completely went the wrong way about it, I can't help but feel she was probably at the end of her tether having to deal with behavior she probably wasn't trained to handle, behavior that disrupted the other kids' learning. It's by no means the boy's fault, but specialist teaching and therapy may be the best route for the future, for the boy AND his classmates. Having the mother simply say 'he has a right to be there' doesn't really get to the real problem.

Wow. I went to this school for 5 years, and I knew the teacher pretty well. I never thought she would do something like that. The teacher is back in that school, which I think is completely wrong. I didn't know the child, only the teacher, so I can't say that he was really a trouble. But I do know that the teacher did have a very short temper. I still don't think she should be back in this school..Thank god, I'm out of there.

The teacher needs training in behavior modification. Teachers are not paid enough nor trained enough. Teachers need extra training and the time to receive it. Our country values celebrities and sports stars while paying teachers next to nothing. It is horrible that a behavior improvement plan wasn't in place for this student.

ASPERGERS is a high functioning form of autism. It doesn't reflect on his intelligence it just makes him a little socially awkward. I have friends from college with aspergers and they all do very well they're just a little weird, which makes them fun. This teacher should be teaching children to be accepting of those who are different from them not encouraging them to discriminate. Special education is disproportionately more expensive than even advanced education. That means taxpayers are paying more money on children who will be less productive. Sounds like normal children have a case for "separate but unequal" allocation of resources for education.

Agreed. Although the teacher completely went the wrong way about it, I can't help but feel she was probably at the end of her tether having to deal with behavior she probably wasn't trained to handle, behavior that disrupted the other kids' learning. It's by no means the boy's fault, but specialist teaching and therapy may be the best route for the future, for the boy AND his classmates. Having the mother simply say 'he has a right to be there' doesn't really get to the real problem.
