starting at 0:40 you said "i'm here to put out what works for me and what has been my understanding"
have you ever read proverbs 3:5??? or do you ignore that scripture as you ignore Paul's writings inspired by GOd himself in order to justify your sinful lifestyle??
OMG. You can't be serious... Paul address straight men that have give up their women for gay orgies??? Huh? Do you hear the confusion in your own ridiculous stance and PAUL NEVER SAYS THAT IN THE BIBLE. If a man is STRAIGHT he aint giving up HIS WOMAN to go and abuse a man in his rectum. Straight is not a term that you can just call yourself... Straight means 100% HETEROSEXUAL -- If a man cannot say he is 100% HETEROSEXUAL and love women solely -- He is HOMOSEXUAL. Geez, are you that lost?
Be careful that you are not justifying your opinions using scripture. You must look at the patterns and evidence in the Bible for what it is. Marriage was patterned early on as one man and one woman. Abraham was the first we know of to change that, and it was because he and his wife did not trust God's promise. Remember, woman was made from man, so man and woman together are one flesh (a whole entity). Two men or one man and two women is not in that equation. That is the biblical marriage.
look tenor i got to admit that god did make a partner for adam, and that was eve not steve, only the devil want you to smell his butt like dogs so if you are saying that god could have made another partner for adam and it could have been a guy then your dead wrong especially isf your a christian cuz god dont make mistakes when he put a woman before adam he meant it,so keep his commandments,

Jesus did respond to the issue of arsenokoites (homosexuality); Mark 10:6 "But from the beginning God made them male and female. 7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8 And they twain shall be one flesh; so then they are no more twian, but one flesh. Jesus goes on to say that outside of this marital bond, it is adultry, and I Corinthians 6:9-11 contemns adultry and arsenokoites (gay sex). In I Cor. 6 both katamites and arsenokoites are mentioned.
The bible did not say specifically that two men can't be married, from what I know.. but what I DO know is that same gender sexual intercourse is not allowed and is written in the bible. This most likely means that marriage is not accepted by god between two people of the same sex because you are supposed to have sex with your spouse. It says that man should pleasure his wife and his wife should pleasure him when desired. It does not state man should pleasure wife or man, vice versa.
@lovethatblaze Male-to-male sexual intercourse was 'condemned' (for lack of a better term) in the Bible because of cultural and social understandings of gender and power during this time period. It has nothing to do with actual sexual orientation at all.
@lovethatblaze Yes, the BIBLE does SAY specifically that two men can't be married: JESUS WORDS: "Have you not read that from the Beginning God created Male and Female and for this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife and the twain (these two) shall be one flesh." The leaving of "father and mother" and "cleaving to wife" is the PROCESS of MARRIAGE. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF gave no "other" "alternatives" to what a "marriage" or "divorce" can be.
@smurfboywv JESUS AND THE BIBLE CLEARLY STATES IT: THE LORD JESUS CHRIST says in MATTHEW: "Have you not read, that from the beginning God created them male and female and for this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave to His wife and the twain shall be ONE flesh." Jesus Christ NEVER gives any "alternative" to this as He reminds people even in that time about WHY MARRIAGE is important and whom MARRIAGE is for. He never says Male and Male shall be ONE flesh or two females.
@smurfboywv There is not even an argument to this. It is simply what JEHOVAH GOD requires and HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON -- THE ONLY TRUE LORD & SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST commands -- That Men love your WIVES as CHRIST JESUS LOVES THE CHURCH, women (wives) submit yourself to YOUR HUSBANDS as unto THE LORD. The Bible and The Lord Jesus Christ does not tell men to love men as Christ loves the Church NOR tell women to submit themselves to another woman as unto Him. That is why Homosexuality is OUT OF ORDER.
@smurfboywv It is silly and preposterous that folks like you are TRYING to "argue" your point. There is no argument. The FACT is and here is where it comes down to... You either BELIEVE GOD, BELIEVE HIS SON JESUS CHRIST, BELIEVE THEIR WORD IS TRUE... OR... You don't. It's as simple as that. No argument. I TRUST HIS WORD IS TRUE. You do not. So, therefore you live according to your own will, flesh and desires. You are a part of the WORLD, but that is when you are not a part of GOD.
@smurfboywv You believe THE WORLD -- what it says is TRUE. You are a friend of the World and the World system -- which says NO ONE CAN CHANGE from Homosexuality. Which says that it is OK. Which says that it is not a SIN. That's your belief. But, I TRUST GOD'S WORD. That one can change. That one can be Born-Again in Christ Jesus that the Sin of Homosexuality is indeed SIN because it is NOT GOD'S WILL for yours or anybody's life. But, that it is a part of MAN'S FALLEN NATURE. That's my belief
@smurfboywv No argument. You must decide if you simply believe THE BIBLE IS GOD'S WORD and IF HIS WORD and HIS SON IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH & THE LIFE. You are entitled to not accept that. But, I accept it. So, for me there is no argument. If you have an "argument" then perhaps you are not quite "settled" on what it is that you truly believe. It's as simple as that.
@smurfboywv And, so is everything else in THIS LIFE is written BY MEN. So, your point is what? The same science that tells you, that you were born this way is also written BY MEN. There is no PROOF on this. You are going by FAITH in what they "tell you" is TRUTH. All things in this life stem from MAN. The question and the issue is, under WHAT UNCTION, WHAT SPIRIT, WHAT INFLUENCE, WHAT INSPIRATION is that MAN under? GOD TALKS AND WALKS WITH MAN --- those that are OPEN to HIS HOLY SPIRIT.
@smurfboywv So, the issue is NOT whether or not MAN wrote The Bible -- OF COURSE MAN WROTE it! Duh! Just like MAN writes THE QUARAN, THE VEDAS, SCIENCE, POLITICS, HISTORY ("his story"), DARWINISM (evolution -- yes, Darwin is a MAN! He never saw a money turn to man with his own eyes!). So, if you are dissin the BIBLE and rejecting THE BIBLE based solely upon the FACT that MAN WROTE IT. Honey, you must REJECT ALL THINGS IN THIS LIFE! Even the junk you believe because MAN WROTE THAT TOO! :)
THIS GUY IS A FAG HE NEED A HELPER AND DID HE CREATE A MAN??? NOPE HE MADE AN WOMAN.. Let's try this AGAIN...the Hebrew word to which he is referring that refers to some sort of "counterpart" (very crude translation into English in itself there) is AYT-ZER. This word "pops up" all OVER the Old Testament, and really without getting it in those other contexts, it's quite difficult to get the correct context HERE, I believe. But it DOES NOT mean "partner of the opposite sex" or "wife" here, people! Vincent is dead accurate here! Stand by for continuation about the Leviticus.

However, what I ALL CAPSED back there was the (or an) English transliteration of what Vincent is describing WAY back there in the first chapter or 2 of the Book of Bereshi't (Genesis). Also, that GUY who said how do you read Leviticus 18:22; WELL, as the adjective describing the behavior is the Hebrew word TO-AY-VAH, and the same exact adjective
@tenorcervantes OKAY WOW LEVITICUS 11:9-12.. FIRST OFF ALL LEVITICUS 11 is talking about clean and unclean food THERE IS NO WHERE IT TALKS ABOUT GAY PPL

I acknowledge that we have all sinned (Romans 3:23). But my sexual orientation is not sinful. I encourage you to watch my "Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin" video; in that video I discuss the definition of sin.
@tenorcervantes WOW YOUR NOT A CHRISTIAN! IF YOU ACKNOWLEGDE ALL HAVE SINNED AND BEING GAY IS A SIN THEY YOU WUD STOP BEING GAY NO ONE IS BORN GAY THTS A SPECULATION MADE BY THE GOVERNMENT TO KEEP CHRISTIANS FROM GETTING ANGRY>.GOD DID NOT MAKE GAY PPL. PPL CHOSEE TO BE GAY
@Thamafiaboy I like how you cite the Bible while using hate speech. Last I checked, that is not very loving or Christ-like. I am not an Israelite, and I assume you are not either, so why I are you referencing the Holiness Code like it's even relevant to modern day Christians?
Oh but apparently your sense of morality is superior to mine, so let me just try this whole heterosexual thing you're so obsessed with.
@tenorcervantes "Why is a Christian referencing the Holiness Code?" EXCUSE ME? So, then you admit that you as a Homosexual are then unholy! And, NOT FOLLOWING HOLINESS. Secondly, JESUS CHRIST said: "I will not leave you comfortless for I will send my SPIRIT." It is the HOLY SPIRIT that Christians of TODAY are to be filled and in HIM move and have "our being." So, anytime you can feel you can be a "Christian" and yet, HOLINESS is "not even relevant" then you are NOT A CHRISTIAN AT ALL.
As I've said in other videos, the Bible is anything but clear on homosexuality, and on sexuality in general. Read a Bible that was written before the 1960s and the word "homosexual" won't appear in it, because it was added later. The Greeks had no word for "homosexual." Furthermore, Roman was talking about orgiastic temple worship, not relationships or unions between two loving and consenting adults.
Homosexuality is a sin! It's unnatural. It's not what the Lord intended for us to partake in. Yes there are some heterosexual married couples who cannot have children BUT if the Lord decides to bless a barren couple then He can but He won't bless a homosexual couple to naturally produce a child.
I have to beg to differ. The love I feel for my husband as a gay man feels and IS just as natural as the love that is shared between heterosexual couples.
Furthermore, I believe that God can bless gay couples with the hearts to raise children that have been orphaned or displaced. God works in many ways and in mysterious ways.
yes you can RAISE children but you cannot HAVE children naturally. the fact of the matter is it is a sin. the Bible says "No fornicators, idol worshipers, prostitutes, or practicing homosexuals will inherit the Kingdom of God" 1 Corinthians 6:9. The Bible also says to resist your fleshly desires, hate the things of the world, and walk in the Spirit. Being a homosexual is not a thing of the Spirit it's of the world.
Your argument about children just doesn't hold up; I don't deny that I cannot have child naturally with my husband. But the idea of marriage being an institution created just for child bearing purposes is outdated and no longer fit into our culture.
As for your defense with Scripture, I am well aware of what the Bible says and doesn't say about sexuality. I know in my heart through prayer and my own personal journey with Christ, that my love for my husband is not sinful, but blessed by God.
But it also says in the Leviticus 18:22 "A man should not lay with another man as he would a woman, it is an abomination". Romans 1:26-27 "For this reason God gave them up for degrading passions. Their women gave up normal relations with a man for a woman, in the same way men gave up natural intercourse with women and were consumed with passion for other men". If homosexuality being wrong was "a cultural thing" then the rest of the Bible was all a cultural thing and none of it applies to today.
As Christians we don't live by Leviticus. Those are Jewish laws created a time that was necessary for those people; if we did follow that law, we wouldn't have football :) Furthermore, Paul is addressing the Roman practice of Temple Orgies. The verses directly before and after don't have anything to do with homosexuality. Paul never addresses gay men and woman, but instead addresses straight men who had given up their woman for temple orgies. These were not gay men, but instead straight men.
I know marriage is not just for child rearing, it's for love, it's supposed to be based upon the glory of God, children are a blessing that sprung from that love. But the Word is plain and simple homosexuality is just not acceptable to God. I have absolutely no problem with homosexuals I understand that it like fornication can be habitual but the plain truth is it is SIN, even if you try to excuse it by saying it was "a cultural thing". The good news is it won't block salvation.
Furthermore, as for your 1 Corinth. reference, I urge to reconsider the way your read scripture by taking into account the cultural significance of those passages.
Besides, there is dispute between biblical scholars over the direct Green translation of 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
two men cannot multiply, only man and woman can be fruitful and multiply. What is so hard to understand. Stop making excuse for gay marriage. You say you are an ex-gay and here u are defending gay relationship. The reason why you have gay men is because at some point in there life they began worshipping a women. Whether that be there grandparents, mothers or sisters. A gay man subconsciously says hey I want to be like that, whether that be in childhood or as an adult. Read Leviticus 20:13.
That would definitely be inaccurate (at least the last half of your comment). I do not deny that you need a man and a woman to reproduce, I am a product of a man and woman coming together. However, let's bear in mind that not all heterosexual couples can or are willing to procreate. Which God condemns in the Old Testament (Onan was killed over it).
I am a ex-ex-gay, meaning that I tried to change my sexual orientation and it doesn't work. I was created to not bear false witness to who I am
And, really, it goes back to tenorcervantes' MAIN point that GOD's view of marriage is companionship and intimacy. I have known both gay and str8 couples, and generally most of the CHRISTIAN ones REALLY impressed me ( not all do...:( ) had an ACUTELY visible sense of those very qualities!!! It is my belief that this is because the Holy Spirit takes God's children and imbues us with the LORD's profound desire 4 companionship and intimacy with US. (Again, back 2 the Bride of Christ as stated!)
bim: the Apostle Paul HATED marriage. He PREFERRED celibacy.
Not true. Paul preferred marriage UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES. Clearly he wasn't ignoring Gen 2:18-24 Matt 19:5,6 1 Tim 4:1-3 Heb 13:4
When Paul gave his OPINION, there was great persecution towards Christians and much more to come. There wasn't time to raise up Christian families. The parents could be killed and the children left to the world. The wife and children would distract in urgent times.
First off, I think it was a grievous mischaracterization to use that passage to say the Apostle Paul HATED marriage. He PREFERRED celibacy.(I am very familiar with all of what U cited here; I have ALSO studied the Hebrew and Greek and still am!) Which leads me 2 oignab's comment there...when God said that, the HEBREW word God used in next sentence was ETZER, which is translated "counterpart," "helpmate," blah blah blah. The word pops up in other key parts of the OT as well. It's rather loaded!
Iv been browsing thru your videos and am interested to have an opinion from u the what does the scripture means,"it is not good for a man to be alone." and i think it goes on about it. It is somewhere in genesis chapter 1 or 2
I think that you are wasting too much of your young years worrying about interpreting the Bible. You will never get the fundamentalists to agree with an enlightened version. Just live your life as who you are with your own moral compass. This life if probably the only one that you will ever have, so be happy and try to make others happy. And we don't need archaic texts to tell us that!
There are many more examples where being gay is not condemned, but one more is in the case of Exodus where Moses condemned adultery and homosexuality with the same punishment: exile or stoning. Jesus saved a woman from being stoned and told her that he does not condemn her as no other man (with sin) was able to condemn her.
When you start to look at the "filters" in which the Bible was written in (haha through asexual men like Paul etc), you see why so many texts have been altered and misconstrued over time. For anybody else watching, there are words in the Bible that have been changed during translation. For instance, Luke used a Greek word to refer to the Roman guard's servant that implies that it was a young man: "pais." Christ healed him nonetheless, and did not condemn either of them.
starting at 0:40 you said "i'm here to put out what works for me and what has been my understanding"

It was not a general law of God.

Good stuff. Keep Blogging.
