Well the series certainly looks interesting, and it looks like they are trying to give it a new feel... but then they did that with Atlantis at first, and it didn't take them long before the show felt like SG1 again.

Lets hope they keep taking this show in a new direction.

The idea of Stargate Universe is that it is set on a ship that was part of an Ancient experiment that was set in motion probably Millions of years ago (before their conflict with the Wraith and possibly even before they moved Atlantis to the Pegasus Galaxy), the show would reveal, the Ancients sent out two ships: an automated vessel to place Stargates throughout multiple galaxies in our universe, and a second ship to follow up and explore.

I cant wait, its serious toned but still reminiscent of what I liked about SG and BSG. I just dont get the death gliders, last assault of the Gould, Jaffa betrayal or Lucian Alliance?
