this book is at the top of my fav list, thank you garth, for this masterpiece, inspiried me to make a book based on my loving dog, kira, who passed in 2008
This was an amazing and inspiring and sad and surprising and heart-touching and amazing book. But it shouldn't be a movie. It made me cry sooo much! Best book of my life; past, present or future.(:
This is the best book i ever read in my life. Every page just made me want to read more and more of it and the end made me so happy inside. I CANT WAIT FOT THE MOVIE!!!
Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am in a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush Of beautiful birds in circling flight, I am the starshine of the night. I am in the flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I do not die. this poem reminds me of enzo<3
I love the ending were Enzo says; " The car goes were your eyes go." in Itailan. This book is amazing, i wish i savored it, rather then read it in 2 days.
a movie and a book are two different ways of telling a story. one gives you the images and lets you watch passively, the other helps you to imagine what the story would be like through imagery and language.
this is one of those stories that i think will, unless masterfully done, will be a disappointment as a movie and miles better read as a book.

i began reading this book, but do not agree with the idea of reincarnation, which is an antichrist idea. And, another flaw, was the couple of Mike and Tony, who were described as husband and wife, while later Tony's gender was changed to male. I then stopped reading it, in respect of marriage.
An unusually touching and engaging story that's not really about racing in the rain, of course, but racing as a metaphor for living life. And all as seen from the eyes and mind of a studious race car loving dog awaiting re-incarnation as a man.
A wonderful yarn from a delightfully creative mind! Thank you GS!
Can't wait to see this story return as a major motion picture!
OMG People. READ.THIS.BOOK. I laughed, I cried, but mostly I learned. Enzo...grazie!
