  • Are you kidding me, my blue 2012 civic ex sedan kicks ass. It looks awesome with fog lights and spoiler and the imid and blue tooth is awesome. If I could post my picks of my civic you'll definitely say it's a stylish car. This review is all wrong.

  • looks even more boring than the new nissan versa

  • and the most boring car for 2012 drum roll plz .... honda civic

  • @Seadgaranovic i can get a manual trans elantra for under $18k appointed decently. to get a honda stick with a radio and air i have to spend more for a car that even makes a corolla look interesting...and i still dont get as good mpg with the civic stick.

  • the 2012 honda civic--the official car used by the us government federal witness protection program...

...because no one will EVER notice you once they put you in this car.

  • I didn't know that they make cars without a radio these days. That's odd.

Anyhow, I took one for a test drive and it is a very tight fit. And I am not a tall or big person. I cannot imagine someone taller than average height fitting comfortably in this vehicle nor someone larger in build. The backseats are very cramped. Only for very tiny, tiny people.

The price of the vehicle seems to be reasonable. However, the compromise is the comfort level in my opinion.

  • Getting my blue civic EXL tonight. My first car ever, hope it works out. Wish me luck.

  • The Civic has gotten so big. Not to mention more boring and bland. Too bad.

  • ugly and expansive

  • Dear Honda.. Revless Hondas are NOT fun to drive. BORING!

  • Honestly I don't think cars should have windup windows anymore either no matter how cheap they are... so you can imagine how I feel about AC and a Radio being optional extras. It's the 21st century... we've moved on from those options being special Honda!!! nowadays many cars even come standard with aux inputs, climate control and leather seats... which by the way weren't even available in the last gen Civic.

  • What Midsize sedan?

    This guy is retarded

what midsize can you buy for 21k ?

  • @SpcMedia21 2011 Jetta. it starts at only 15k, feels better, looks better, drives better, you know why? i've test drove them both.

  • @SpcMedia21 base models like camry

  • @SpcMedia21 hyundai sonata, kia optima, suzuki kizashi, and maybe a nissan altima

  • @SpcMedia21 A 1969 Chevelle.

  • @SpcMedia21 Most of midsize sedans starts around 21k.. You are retarded

  • @Frickitt exactly right. What midsize sedan starts around 21k nothing. Even the Korean brands, once you get passed the base model are in the 20's. Why buy a Kia or Hyundai over a Honda given their resale value tanks!

  • @Frickitt For a base stripped down Mid-Sized sedan, Anyone in their right mind would pick a fully loaded civic instead of a stripped down Accord..

  • @SeadGBosnia

The LX Accord actually has good standard features.

  • @SpcMedia21 The Accord starts at $21,380.

  • @SpcMedia21 Hyundai Sotana entry level 19695$

  • @SpcMedia21 A Mazda 6 I Sport is 19,000 out the door. A Fusion is priced similar. The new Civic is a joke of a car.

  • Consumer Reports has thier head up their ass when it comes to this car.

  • People are so wound up that CR is just being honest about the new Civic. Get out there and drive it and the competition, and you'll see that they're right.

  • @Seadgaranovic lol your on your own with this one.... Those other manufactures offer options that aren't available on the fully loaded civic.... Yea the reign of the Civic is officially OVER!!!!!

  • Even the base 2012 Focus comes with a radio and AC. Who would even think of buying a car in today's world with no radio or AC!

  • Next generation? Looks more like refresh

  • @jvrdlc if it snows then you should probably wait for the new subaru impreza. Other wise

    get the focus

  • quick question im looking to buy a small car. which car would you guys recommend me to ger. i'm living in Canada at the moment, im from NY but i see that you guys also review the cars from here. so please i would like to know which car would it be the best choice

  • @jvrdlc It depends which prov/ter you are in too. I just bought a 2011 Honda Civic in Alberta and I really like it. I test drove some Ford Focus and I didn't really like them. They felt sluggish on pickup and for a basic one the wheel felt cheap and thin like it would break off. The turn signal is also annoying it turns off by itself after three blinks and also felt cheap. The Honda outperformed it in every way and I really liked driving it much more.

  • @jvrdlc The dealership was also a lot better and they weren’t pushy at all. They said their sales people all have university education and the guy I dealt with truly believed in the cars they were selling. I have been very satisfied with my experience with Honda with the car and dealership. As they even said test drive one then you will probably like it. The only thing that I don't like or have had to adjust to is their speedometer is digital. Other than that I think its a great car.

  • seriously....LOL how much did Hyundai pay you guys??? hahahahahaha

  • Hey CONSUMER REPORTS! HOW MUCH DID HYUNDAI PAY YOU? LMFAO

  • I'd like to point out that Mr 'Seadgaranovic' closed his account since posting multiple detailed critical posts on videos that bash a Honda branded cars.

    Not fishy at all...

  • @AshtonPhoto Wtf closed my account!???? Ur dumb and a creeper! I'm right here.....

  • @Seadgaranovic focus st ftw coming out end of this year. 250 hp btw.

  • @DevPack Hey this is my new account! I like the focus but it's turbocharged which doesn't compare to the Si it goes with the GTI and the Mazda speed 3! "p

  • @Seadgaranovic The Focus will, it will be called the ST.

  • @Seadgaranovic Not everyone has the money in this economy for a fully loaded car, let alone a new one. Alot of people are going to be buying the base trim levels of whatever car they look at. For a 16 grand car to lack features as basic as air conditioning is stupid; even base 13k Hyundai's have that now. At every level, the competition has more. Especially the new Focus, it has 20 more horsepower than the civic at the same price. 20!

  • @xWhit3Devilx I'd take a Civic over any crappy cruze and focus anytime anyday, please, don't put in comparison gold with shit...

  • @IwantaLexusLFA obviously you are an idiot.

  • @IwantaLexusLFA the focus actauly is realy good

  • The interior is still ugly. I hate that two tier dash.

  • who would buy a d x, no a/c, radio, LMAO ok thats riduculous!!

  • I mainly don't like how it looks. Its getting worse.

  • What I disagree with is the criticism that the Civic is somehow not keeping up with sticking to the 1.8 with a 5 speed auto. The Civic is completely competitive in terms of acceleration, and gets BEST IN CLASS REAL WORLD ECONOMY. Yes, it could have been better with a 6 speed auto, but you can't fault it for having one less speed when a driver would never notice.

  • @motormusique no, civic does not have the best fuel economy. the new focus, cruze and elantra beat it in just about every measurable way and then some.

  • Love the Civic, but can't justify spending nearly 5k more for it than a Mitsubishi Lancer. I'm not going to pay the Honda premium when Mitsu's are just as reliable.

  • honda seriously thinks they're the shit now to charge that much for low-optioned cars. this is even true with they're bikes...they cost at least 1G more than yamahas, and arent that much different

  • Thumbs down to Honda for criticizing consumer reports review of the Civic. You just can't go around telling people how to rate your own product. You have to accept the fact that you cant please everyone and thats that.

  • Compare the 2012 Civic and the 2012 Elantra after being driven for a 5 year period.......Looks aren't everything! That's even if an Elantra can make it to 5 years. Remember.....you can stamp a turd guaranteed! However, all you've got is a guaranteed piece of shit! The Honda will still be worth something after five years of use!

  • Honda is getting ridiculous. a 2008 Honda Accord LX-Premium was less than $22,500, now it's just around $24,000. COME ON HONDA!

  • How the hell can ANY car in 2011-2012 NOT even have A/C or a radio as options? Our base Fiesta may have manual windows, but at least it comes with A/C and a radio as standard equipment, and that's a segment below the Civic!

  • I recently bought a Civic EX Sedan and I could not be more satisfied. I am averaging about 39.7 MPG, which is surprisingly good, and I paid about $21,500. My friend has the new Elantra Limited and while we both agree that the Elantra is more engaging to drive, we find that it's rear visibility is pretty limited and that the seats are not as supportive as those on the Civic.

  • I don't get it why they don't include A/C and Radio in the US, in some Asian countries, even the lowest trim line gets almost everything (well, maybe a crappier interior), but it gets A/C and radio

  • nice try HONDA~!!

  • For those that come here thinking the Elantra is better search 2011 or even 2012 Elantra problems on a google or yahoo. They are already having a butt load of issues. From abnormal engine noises to engines blowing up. Then search the Civic, Mazda 3, Corolla, etc. and see how many issues they have. Not much if any at all. I personally would not invest my hard earned money into a car that is missing the reliability factor which Honda does have. Car wont look to good if if doesnt run.

  • @stringfellowhawke247 I see that Hyundai is back to their old selves again!!!!!!!!

  • @stringfellowhawke247 AMEN to you! That's why they have those long 10 year whatever power train warranty!

  • @Adelaide1200 - you are right, the Mazda is a great car, much better, and even tho I don't own a GT, it drives great, shifts great, and handles better than most other cars in its class.

  • @Seadgaranovic - Hyundai has the Genesis Coupe, and also Hyundai is coming out with the Veloster this summer, Hyundai chooses to keep the Elantra as a economy car, and had different models that are more upscale with more features and more powerful engines, it's just a matter of how they diversify their cars.

  • Pricey as always, but no longer leading the pack to justify the price.

  • Sure you can buy that shit Swiss fake cheese in the grocery store in the ghetto but that same Swiss cheese bought at the town where old tradition still makes it with homemade kind of care and attention is a totally different ball game. From the outside the two types of Swiss cheese look the same but one of them was crafted with more attention and care. From the weight and outer appearance, the average Joe doesn't care.

  • I just took a 360 mile trip 90% HWY with my new Civic EX 2012 and got 43.5 MPG ! Using eco mode. I was driving 70 MPH avg. I am wondering if the Elantra can do this?

  • @AllensGuitarShop - don't know, check out the mileage on the Elantra, but no bluetooth, and the interior, as they point out here, is getting cheap.

  • Hey guys any idea of when will the 2012 Civic be launched in India ?

i have waited forever for this and i am holding on !

I havent purchased the old one because its dated and way too expensive

  • What an absolutely worthless video.

  • I like this guy, calling Honda out. Seriously, who doesn't include a/c or radio? It still has ROLL UP windows!!! That's damn ridiculous. Mazda has it all for 18k. Si is more impressive though, but still, it needs to have 220hp by now...

  • @joshuatree1001 - the Mazda 3 is a much better car than the Civic, I have owned a Mazda 3 for 4 years, great reliability, great ride with the stick, so I will probably stick with Mazda.

  • How about Chevrolet? You can't have leather seats standard in a camaro till you spend 28000 for a LT2 and at that price a moon roof is extra. An elantra limited comes equipped with more standard features at 23000 than a 28000 camaro.

  • @flipfloplogic except the elantra isnt a camaro.

  • @toyota420xp yes, the Camaro is built by GM, and probably will start falling apart after just a few miles, being that GM still can't build a decent car.

  • @buffalocrotch Can't or WON'T?!!!

  • The Civic carries a higher price than an Elantra, but you get much better resale value and you get to say the typical "It's a Honda". I'm sorry, but Honda and Toyota do not need to prove anything in terms of long-term reliability of their vehicles. Hyundai, GM and Ford might have lower prices and "better" styles (I find the new Civic stunning) you end up paying for it anyways with poor resale value. Let's compare a 2012 Civic and Elantra in 8+ years and 150k miles and see which holds up better.

  • @Windgrace Thank you. Finally someone who posted something that makes sense and is true. The new Civic is awesome. Fun to drive.

  • @stringfellowhawke247 maybe the SI is fun to drive, but any of the trim lines with the base engine are like a nursing home on wheels.

  • @stringfellowhawke247 - maybe the Civic SI is fun to drive, but any of the Civic's with trim lines with the base engine are like riding in a nursing home on wheels.

  • @Windgrace long term reliability honda and toyota do win. then you look at quality and well price wise toyotas are very competitive if you ask me.hondas do cost a slight difference more but you get that back when you sell the car for sure and then you get in my opinion a better car the handling is a little better mpg's are a little better its just more solid

  • @Windgrace - The Hyundais are holding their value better, while some other makes who supposedly made the best cars, such as Toyota, well, their Corolla took a hit with all the problems associated with the Corollas, and that as well as the Corolla has been cheapened down, and has a crappy interior and vague shitty steering. Toy-Yoda and Honduh, they may have been at the top of their game a few years ago, but if you don't keep your shit together, there's only 1 direction you go.

  • 8th gen Civic looks better

  • The reviewer states that at 21 grand, people could buy a midsize sedan, and while true, that also goes for the higher end trims of the Ford Focus, Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Corolla, etc... Compact car pricing has been encroaching what once was midsize only pricing for years - great job at just discovering this C R.

  • hi

  • You can get the radio in the Canadian model DX CIVIC......

  • @313xys1 canadian DX is equavalient to U.S. LX and so on

  • For the Canadian model the base DX includes the radio but no A/C

  • I have a 206.348 on my 1992 civic . I see you zomm zoom, jajaa you wish to get that high with you zomm zoom thing

  • in 20 year for now I will still drive the civic . I wonder what happen with the hyundai mazda ,etc ,etc . look in the street & see how many 1990 small sedan still runnig, answer, Corrola & Civic . ohhhh . if you want to trade the car before time, residual value is the bigers that any other brand . Ohhh . ok I get now see you in 20 years Hyundai [yes you wish]

  • I did tested Suzuki Kizashi, Hyundai Elantra and new Civic... and after 20 years in car business there is no reason why would I chose Civic!! Overpriced, with less interior and cargo space, not fun to drive like Suzuki or Mazda, what is going on with Honda???

  • @gigimanjo You'd buy a Suzuki over a Honda? wow! Suzuki's were rated one of the worst reliable car brands of 2011. Honda was in the top at #2. I think reliability is a little more important to me then more interior space.

  • So, can we see the manual window operator on Civic soon?

  • I just bought a 2012. Its a great car. Not being able to see any part of the hood and having to guess your front end distance sucks, but you get used to it.

  • I paid 17K for my 2002 Mazda Protege5 back in 2001. 160,000 miles and it's still going strong. Zoom Zoom!!!!!!

  • @kennyt1230 - That's because Mazda builds an incredibly reliable car, but every one gets so fixed on the Toyota and Honda names, and truth is, Toyota especially has been in a decline with their smaller cars for several years now.

  • they copied the battery from hyundai sonata hybrid

  • @Seadgaranovic No! The Civics competitors have WAY more options for the same money. Go build yourself a couple of cars and you'll see.

  • Honda car designs are either boring or polarizing, they're sitting on their "reliable car" laurels too much.

  • @Seadgaranovic

Word, Consumer Reports must be getting paid more from Hyundai, Kia and Ford these days than from Toyota and Honda. Despite Consumer Reports claims, there IS a money trail that flows into CR's parent company - thus influencing CR results.

  • @accordguy0325 - keep telling yourself that, and you might eventually believe that.

  • Hondas are so expensive!

  • @jZ3B3L

Paying for quality can be difficult at first... However, it gets easier over time as some things are worth the price.

  • It looks like an 5 year old car. The style is bland.

  • @miami428 - that's because Honda does not take risks when redesigning their car, and they just change the front and the back tail lights a little, and that's all, compared to other auto makers, who change over their vehicles much more in a redesign. It's called playing it safe, and it's what Honda is all about with the Civic, you either like the older look, or you feel that honda is not keeping up with the competition.

  • wth? this is 2011 and car still has air conditioner as optional? :(

  • @YeuLaKho - and a radio as well. Very sad.

  • good video

  • Every new Honda that comes out is a bit of a disappointment, frankly. Remember the 90s when every new Honda was a revolutionary car? Now it's just "evolutionary."

  • This car looks like it should be from the generation BEFORE the last Civic (which was a good looking car)

And WTF- AC isn't even available on the EX? Radio is optional? I didn't even think cars like that were sold in the US anymore.

  • I'd buy an EX-L or Si if the 2012 Focus didn't exist, but who really cares about Bluetooth? Just buy an aftermarket system for 50 bucks if you are that concerned with keeping it under $20 grand. Honestly, I care more about the sunroof and alloys that come with an EX more over Bluetooth.

  • Who cares if it doesn't have a 6 speed auto? The Civic gets mileage right up there with the 6 speeders, and no one has ever complained about the shifts on a Civic, whereas there are tons of them for the new Focus and Cruze!

  • I'd rather buy a nice used car than this junk. 17 grand for a car with no radio or a/c, that's unacceptable even for a car out of the 90's. Honda has been cost cutting for the last 6 years and yet the prices climb and become ridiculous. I remember back in '06 when I was looking at a 4-cyl Accord. I loved it until the salesman showed the final price... 34K for a basic midsize sedan, unbelievable for the lack in features it had.

  • ok so I don't need ac or a radio, but can I get one without tires?

  • If you want A/C and Radio, you have to buy the LX Trim or higher.

  • no ac? im disappointed in honda. I expected this kind of shit from a hyundai accent, NOT HONDA!

  • @12gloom or a Toyota Corolla, which are also huge POS

  • hi

  • Why can't we get the hatch? Oh, wait, the Civic has gotten so big and so pricey, the question is moot. Hello Kia. Hello Nissan.

  • Ive been a Honda fan my whole life. The new Civic really annoys me. I think if Im going to buy a compact car, Im going to get a Ford Focus.

  • I was thinking about buying a Honda Civic, but after looking at the price, I would rather buy an Accord

  • I quite like the Civic coupe, but the sedan is ugly as hell. Why didn't Honda make this look more distinctive like the Odyssey or CR-Z. This looks freaking boring! Honda, quit making crappy decisions. Honda will see that they have lost a whole lot of profit to the excellent Focus

  • wow no ac or radio for even a base civic WTF

  • @LTF85199 You are not the only one. Many people i know have shopped them and a majority have purchased the Hyundai. It is a very hard deal to beat unless you have specific wants.

  • Thats conservative Honda for ya!

    Fuck you Honda.

  • Totally agree with CR, Honda is getting ridiculously overpriced.. I wanted to get the new civic but after looking at the sticker I ended up getting the new Elantra,

  • @LTF85199 should have got the new focus. That is def the class leader.

  • @DevPack I actually looked at the Focus, same story there the hatchback the only one I like was starting $23k.. that is the price of a full size sedan.. had it been around $18K , focus would have been the best out of the bunch.

  • @LTF85199 good choice. same is with the accord, to get the nav, its another trim level. 2k dollars, the EXL another 2k just for leather, heated seats n better audio a 260 watts.. insane for the price, way too much

  • @LTF85199 All I have to say is "Great choice."

  • @LTF85199 better choice as long it is the new elantra.

  • @LTF85199

Check out Hyundai's below average rating in JD POWER's 2011 initial quality study... Honda placed in the second spot behind Lexus and won in 7 vehicle segment categories- including the Civic in the compact class as least problematic.... Try that with Hyundai.

  • @LTF85199 i hear the new elantra is the way go for this segment...

  • @LTF85199 Great choice. In fact, CR just finished testing the Civic and it's HORRIBLE. the only car that scores lower than it in its class is the VW Jetta. man there are just so many disappointing redesigns nowadays!

  • @LTF85199 - you made a great choice by buying the Elantra, years ago, even if you still think the Civic is Better, Hyundai has narrowed the gap, and with a 6 speed auto transmission, and some other features, the Elantra is edging ahead of the Civic. Honda has gotten complaisant, and that's a dangerous thing to do in the auto industry, it's the same thing that GM did, thinking people would come back and buy GM vehicles, which, I still won't touch a GM product.

  • @buffalocrotch Hyundai might be edging ahead on looks, but they still have yet to prove their engines are reliable. Its way to soon to judge them on it yet. A lot of people are already having serious engine issues with their Elantras. Engines blowing up, other parts breaking, etc. Just because a car looks better doesnt mean its built better. Also they claim 40 mpgs hwy. The avg person is only getting 30-33 mpgs. To me they have some explaining to do there.

  • @LTF85199

Huh? Civic and Elantra are on top of each other in terms of price now.

  • Honda needs to steal a few Hyundai car exterior designers away and stop stealing Toyota's.

  • @oldschool1 NOT TRUE TOYOTA STEALS DESIGNS FROM HONDA AND PEOPLE HATE TOYOTAS ANYWAY THEY ARE ARE VERY BLAND HONDA IS VERY SUFISTACATED AND SPORTY

  • I don't like watching bald men reviewing cars, thank you

  • I think it's so stupid that you can't have an EX with the manual transmission anymore.

  • you can still get a cer with no ac or radio!?

    '

  • @crammage Unbelievable, eh? I wonder if it has a big blank cover plate where the tachometer is supposed to go?

  • @crammage porsche boxster spyder has neither as well.

  • @crammage ...yea I can kinda understand the no a/c for people in Canada, New England, the pacific north west and northern California. But not even offering a fm radio with an ipod adapter on the DX seems pretty dumb.

  • @bpcippant wtf no ac in canada? lol do you think i live in a igloo and i hunt deers and stuff? rofl

  • @crammage Lamborghini Murcielago.

  • @crammage thats the dx

  • Fuck you cheap ass Honda

  • LAST!! :P
