The reason Gate went insane is because Zero was made by Dr. Wiley and his code has actually a virus made to counteract Megaman's Coding and is actually what made Sigma go insane when their "data" combined. Zero was reprogrammed by Cain who actually used Megaman's code to correct Zero's virus kinda like how pennicilin cures or "makes makes the body fight a cold." Since Sigma or Gate were not "immunized" they when insane.

At first, I thought this game was great, when I was 4. Then, when I turned 8, I thought it was alright. Now, playing it without the ultimate armor, it's bad, but I still find it more entertaining than the abomination that is X7. Sonic 06 had some good things about it. @bigace559818 Nope! I own it, & all the games are the same(Mega Man X isn't replaced with Mega Man Maverick Hunter X, just so you know), just in a collection. They also add a bonus secret game; Mega Man Battle and Chase, a racing game. The collection is worth it; less of a chance of losing the games, & when you finish one, you can immediatly start on the next one. It's on PlayStation2 and GameCube, but I recommend using PS2 becuase all the following games are on the PS2. =w=;

I really like hard games and I really really want to play through this game but I'm wondering how I can bipass some of the nightmare stages. Even if I click on a stage that isn't highlighted in red, the Zero Nightmare is still in effect. I'm mainly referring to Rainy Turteloid's stage, where all of the lights go out. Moving really slowly and dying over and over again to see what's next in the darkness is not fun at all. I play Megaman to tear through shit. Does anybody have some advice?

I honestly thought x6 is great. Call me crazy, but I like it. Well, the story about it can be really badged up. But the diffculty I thought that's megaman is to me. To me megaman kinda hard if your just brain stuck.
Zero had the original maverick virus inside him the whole time. Wily put it there. It was released when sigma fought him and got pretty messed up beating him. After being decommissioned and re-activated the virus didn't come out because only Wily new how to activate the "berserk circuit" if you will, that cause the rampage. So Gate found the original circuit containing the virus.
The sabers that X and Zero have are normal handles. It is true that the beam has no mass, but it does contain volume. Basically, the saber handle would gather the nuero-electric energy from the surroundings, and focus it into a blade. Just flip off the switch, and the nuero would dissipitate into the air.
@jyeotis How does the beam work? Is there any friction, what is the weight of the handle, does it cut instantaneously or does it take time to melt/cut through? why does it need to be swung more than once? Swinging it multiple times would imply that you are hacking with it, which isn't how it works, etc, etc, etc.
You're right though, I wasn't thinking of it as a light saber.
@LukeShetler To be honest, we're dealing with science fiction, so that gives the game developers pretty much license to make the stuff work however they want. :) But, no there shouldn't be friction, the beam would radiate energy, probably in the form of heat. I would assume the multiple slashes is an effect of the armor of the enemies being able to absorb damage. In truth though a beam sword would actually be a terrible weapon.
Personally I'd rather listen to the Japanese VA's than the English ones for that time period. The Japanese VA's put effort, nuance and emotion into their performances. The English ones... well, it wasn't until somewhat recently recently that dubbing stopped making me cringe and clutch my ears.
And kudos for leaving the original music in, another thing that bugs me is replacing the soundtrack with generic blech because we're too cheap to keep it (Sonic X watchers will agree).

Man, they were going to fix this game in the X Collection, a lot of it, including Zero's Suicide move Sentsuizan, but because Maverick Hunter X was coming out soon, they took all the patches out.
I think X swings the saber slow and doesn't deal lots of damage with it because his buster is far more powerful than Zero's. If both his buster and saber slashes were more powerfull...there would be no reason to have Zero in the game at all.

X6 is basically one of my fav from the series, yes it's a bit difficult but it's enjoyable. I really found fun the way you have to rescue reploids and how they give you extra goodies(Of course they're pain in the ass when they die, especially which one you really need)
clement i honestly think this game was designed by drunks no offense. its the same with a few parts of x5, and mm8. or they must've been high on something
x6. has some of the must annoying stages ever. 1 stage is basicly a convator belt and a junk compresser. for the whole stage. it is stupidly annoying. and 1 boss. no floor and you can't attack him directly. and the last levels are SPIKE HAPPY. the stages hard, bosses ex for a few are really easy. the megaman x collection has the voice acting cut out. ex for the boss fights.
Gate went insane because when coming in contact with Zero during a malfunction, the virus spreads to protect himself. So, Gate caught the virus Wily made from Bassinium (Same substance he used as an energy source for Bass/Forte) and went insane.
Gate went insane because of how powerful Zero was, and remember in X5 Zero could absorb the Sigma virus and grow stronger. But, he was the only one immune to it and when Gate came into contact with it, he went insane and that's why he *SPOILERS* created Sigma in the end. (Similar to Dr. Doppler from X3).
Y'know, Clement, there are some cases even here in North America where the Japanese language track is preferred over the English. Case in point: the anime series Excel Saga in which the English voices are absolutely HORRIBLE!!
This was the very first game for my PlayStation 1 when i was like six. I used to think it was the greatest, but then i realized that MegaMan X6 is the worst in the series, besides X7. (That is my own opinion and i know im gonna get haters because of it)
Megaman ZX does has similar translation laissez-faire, thankfully only in it's anime cutscenes, and Clement, you could LP it as the lower screen shws fuck all interesting. A map, woo.

@jyeotis How does the beam work? Is there any friction, what is the weight of the handle, does it cut instantaneously or does it take time to melt/cut through? why does it need to be swung more than once? Swinging it multiple times would imply that you are hacking with it, which isn't how it works, etc, etc, etc.
You're right though, I wasn't thinking of it as a light saber.

@LukeShetler To be honest, we're dealing with science fiction, so that gives the game developers pretty much license to make the stuff work however they want. :) But, no there shouldn't be friction, the beam would radiate energy, probably in the form of heat. I would assume the multiple slashes is an effect of the armor of the enemies being able to absorb damage. In truth though a beam sword would actually be a terrible weapon.

Personally I'd rather listen to the Japanese VA's than the English ones for that time period. The Japanese VA's put effort, nuance and emotion into their performances. The English ones... well, it wasn't until somewhat recently recently that dubbing stopped making me cringe and clutch my ears.
And kudos for leaving the original music in, another thing that bugs me is replacing the soundtrack with generic blech because we're too cheap to keep it (Sonic X watchers will agree).

yeah you are right X6 is really bad, i mean in one of the stages(forgot what that fire bird-phoenix name was) they put like a hell lot of bosses that are also kinda in the wrong positions so it's hard to hit them, the first one is kinda okay since all the roller thing does is go to left and right but then it just gets hard

@TheKeybladeMaster971 From what I've seen, there is voice acting tin Rockman ZX (Jap version), but they removed it for its international release.
In the same topic, ZX Advent had English voice acting in the US version, but the European version doesn't.

Man, they were going to fix this game in the X Collection, a lot of it, including Zero's Suicide move Sentsuizan, but because Maverick Hunter X was coming out soon, they took all the patches out.

I think X swings the saber slow and doesn't deal lots of damage with it because his buster is far more powerful than Zero's. If both his buster and saber slashes were more powerfull...there would be no reason to have Zero in the game at all.

X6 is basically one of my fav from the series, yes it's a bit difficult but it's enjoyable. I really found fun the way you have to rescue reploids and how they give you extra goodies(Of course they're pain in the ass when they die, especially which one you really need)

x6. has some of the must annoying stages ever. 1 stage is basicly a convator belt and a junk compresser. for the whole stage. it is stupidly annoying. and 1 boss. no floor and you can't attack him directly. and the last levels are SPIKE HAPPY. the stages hard, bosses ex for a few are really easy. the megaman x collection has the voice acting cut out. ex for the boss fights.

Gate went insane because when coming in contact with Zero during a malfunction, the virus spreads to protect himself. So, Gate caught the virus Wily made from Bassinium (Same substance he used as an energy source for Bass/Forte) and went insane.

Gate went insane because of how powerful Zero was, and remember in X5 Zero could absorb the Sigma virus and grow stronger. But, he was the only one immune to it and when Gate came into contact with it, he went insane and that's why he *SPOILERS* created Sigma in the end. (Similar to Dr. Doppler from X3).

This was the very first game for my PlayStation 1 when i was like six. I used to think it was the greatest, but then i realized that MegaMan X6 is the worst in the series, besides X7. (That is my own opinion and i know im gonna get haters because of it)
