Hi, I know that some of you think that it is stupid for him getting so much sympathy. But to be honest, I am diabetic and I think one of the reasons some people know about diabetes and it not being about being fat is because somebody famous has it,.Also the fact that many people don't even to seem to care about us, Nick actually helps me and my friends (we r 12 & 11) so we are glad that we is getting a little of sympathy from fans.

i'm gonna be very honest here: this didn't make me cry BUT! it did touch my heart and i will always support Nick and have everybody else with diabetes in my thoughts and prayers! i think he's brave to share something this personal and he's a great person :)

WOW. i really cant believe them convo's down there...My mom died in may 2010, of cancer. but not before she suffered from diabetes for 9 years.she was on dyalisis. that for 4 hours a day, 3 days a week. then she got diagnosed with thyroid cancer. had to have about 7 surgeries. the cancer spread, to her liver, stomache. kidneys, lungs and heart. she was using a machine to breath. and i had to watch her die. :( Cancer and Diabetes in NOTHING to laugh or joke about.

@megali811 they used to use pig insulin, but too many people had bad reactions to it. now they use insulin creted by inserting the human gene that controls insulin production in bacteria to make insulin. that method is very expensive. i think they should find new methods in producing insulin or make their current method more cost effective.

I check my blood sugar every few hours, i try not to eat anything high in sugar unless its like Thanksgiving or something and i give insulin when needed. its not hard at all. its annoying at times, not hard. if your responsible and not a total crybaby you can live a normal life. a lot of my friends dont even know i have it because its not a big deal.

WOW. i really cant believe them convo's down there...My mom died in may 2010, of cancer. but not before she suffered from diabetes for 9 years.she was on dyalisis. that for 4 hours a day, 3 days a week. then she got diagnosed with thyroid cancer. had to have about 7 surgeries. the cancer spread, to her liver, stomache. kidneys, lungs and heart. she was using a machine to breath. and i had to watch her die. :( Cancer and Diabetes in NOTHING to laugh or joke about.

@megali811 they used to use pig insulin, but too many people had bad reactions to it. now they use insulin creted by inserting the human gene that controls insulin production in bacteria to make insulin. that method is very expensive. i think they should find new methods in producing insulin or make their current method more cost effective.

@megali811 in fact, i believe trying to find a cure for diabetes is a waste of time. as soon as we get another conservative as president stem cell research will stop again, so we should use this time to try to find cures for cancer, aids, malaria and other major diseases. what researchers should be doing is finding cheaper ways to produce inslin. there are 2 types of insulin. one treats for carbs and is 100 for a months worth. the other is a stabalizing insulin and costs 150 or more per month.

I check my blood sugar every few hours, i try not to eat anything high in sugar unless its like Thanksgiving or something and i give insulin when needed. its not hard at all. its annoying at times, not hard. if your responsible and not a total crybaby you can live a normal life. a lot of my friends dont even know i have it because its not a big deal.

Wow he makes such a big deal about his diabeties its really quite pathetic. then again i shouldnt expect more from a disney actor/"pop sensation". you people will like anything thats deemed cool or popular. fuck this generation of kids.

@weedmugger why don't you just stfu? and learn how to spell. hah, he's not trying to get people to pity him, he's trying to help people with diabetes that's why he talks about it, and wrote a song about it to help people cope with diabetes.and whatever else they have going on in their life. he's trying to be a good role model. he has foundations for it, and i think it's amazing what he's doing for people with diabetes. so back the fuck off. and quit hating on him. get a fucking life.

Much people in this world has diabetes, millions die for complications of diabetes. I honestly do not find the reason to sympathize with this guy... It's probable that you feel more pity for this guy, that for your grandmother, who has the same disease.

wow people? really ... he doesn't talk about his diabeties to steal attention from everyone else. he does it to help promote awareness and research for the disease. he single handedly has done so much and raised so much awareness and money for funding and research. people getting mad about that is just rediculous. he promotes it, and talks about it to help other people. not himself.

I'm so sick of hearing of his diabeties (I'm sad that he has it) but no one cares about anyone else with diabeties cuz he is famous (I guess if your famous you get everyone to care)

@MrBaileylewis hes raising awareness.. that helps other people that have diabeties.... he single handedly raises SO much awareness for the disease.. my aunt died from diabetes and i love and respect him for the work he puts into raising all fo this awareness and MONEY for funding and research. thats why he does it. not for people to feel sorry for him

I agree with weedmugger. He isn't the only one with diabetes. He only gets this attetion because he's famous. I have a cousin who has diabetes and she didnt make it a BIG deal about it. throw sugar packs at nick jonas.
