  • Thanks a million times for this. A very great and funny band.

  • Thanks a million times for this. À very funny and great band.

  • Brilliant, and up the Pinks indeed, lucky enough to see them four or five times, three times with Duncan, Russell and Paul Rudolph, and twice after Larry Wallis had replaced Paul, the final time in Brighton supported by the very first Motorhead, so Larry Wallis was a busy boy. Don't think it is Twink on the Timbales, he was long gone, more like Andy Colhoun.

  • BEST LIVE VIDEO OF "THE PINK FAIRIES"....

  • This band were so poor that they had to share their cigarettes between them on stage and leave a stump for the audience:-)

  • HANK MARVIN ON ACID KIDS

  • mushys after school those were the days

  • oh! yah!

  • Psychedelic Maximus

  • This is the first bit of proper live footage I've seen of the Fairies ever and I've been listening to them for decades. And Twink is in the line-up too. Fantastic!

  • It seems that this concert recording of sufficient quality for release on CD ...

  • The first piece of film I've ever seen of this band! Amazing! That's made my day right and proper - memories of smoke filled rooms and proper wooden speaker cabinets, patchouli, motorbikes in the lounge........

  • OK !

  • HANK MARVIN ON ACID

  • Unbelievable - what a band! This is incredible music. Saw them at least 3 times in the seventies - and was blown away! Whoever put this up please put up some more of this concert! Up the pinks!!

  • YOU HAVE MADE MY DAY THIS IS A GEM LINE UP IS LAZZA WALLIS ON GUITAR RUSS HUNTER ON DRUMS SANDY SANDERSON ON BASS TWINK ON DRUMS

    THANKYOU AMIGO

  • ten out of ten for putting this up, the interview made my year.

  • from what little i know about them i bet this is 1975.as twink had been back intot he fold and wallis hair is shorter

  • @posthumanhero ...

Original broadcast was from November 1973, so it can't be 1975 ...

  • @pit2ryan3 didn't twink leave after the first lp (1971)?

  • @posthumanhero ...

Yes, but he rejoined the band in 1973, before they disbanded late the same year ...

  • @posthumanhero

Twink left the band 12 bars in and joined again before the end of the second verse ;-)

So I've been told - as I never saw them live - and the reunion a few years back never materialised ;-(

  • this video leaves me thinking the wallis era lineup was never really captured on vinyl too well.....and twink?....................makes no sense at all as he'd left by the second album.

  • I am not Bob Harris! I personally think that Bob, nice as he is has no place on the radio as his shows are so boring. There was so much great music in the UK when he surveyed his fiefdom from his exalted position which he neglected. He now presents a show called Bob Harris Country, which proves my point. I regard him as a fake hippy. I just wanted to point out where Pop deux came from, French broadcaster INA.

  • @deepindercheema ...

    Got it !

Though what makes you think that Pop 2 had a lot more money than OGWT ?

  • @pit2ryan3 I have seen a few shows by Pop Deux and the production quality is good. I know OGWT did not have a lot of money, because everytime there is a show about the BBC in 1971 the production staff like to point it out. I think it is a cultural thing. The French take art more seriously and certainly a lot of money went on outside broadcasts, whereas in Britain pop was generally frowned upon by old people running the media.

  • This is probably part of the INA archive, Pop Deux or Pop 2 was a show they made. This probably came from the ina.fr website which when l looked 5 years ago had stuff you can look at then buy the rest. Pop Deux had a lot more money than Old Greys Wh... I have lost the will to live..fake hippies.. Bob Harris..

  • @deepindercheema...

What an honour! A comment from Mr. Bob Harris!

Yes, it's from Pop 2, I wrote that in the description. Larry Wallis got eventually sober and went to wrote some good songs for Dr. Feelgood, especially "As Long As The Price Is Right" in 1977, which was also a single.

OGWT: I got the official DVDs,but looks like a lot of stuff has yet to be released.

Here in Italy we never had the chance to watch these kind of shows on TV, that's why we (Italians) are so musically ignorant...

  • Fantastic upload! At a guess I'd say that it's Duncan Sanderson on Bass (left), Larry Wallis on Guitar, with the two drummers being the blonde Twink (John Alder) and the brunette Russell Hunter.

Amazing find... have you got any more, eg outtakes etc?

  • GOOD CHOICE....AWESOME BAND....FROM EX DEVIANTS.......MOTORHEAD HAVE DUTY TO WILLIS

  • what a gem
