this is jim....if you can understand consciousness, and how he lives through his music and the collective consciousness of all who love his music. They all want to experience jim, but the truth is we lost that wonderful soul on earth , he has returned to the source...So we experience him as a collective thought, as this video exemplifies this. Look at that energy, that would not be there without Jim....Trust me, he is there, not physically, but he's there.
this isnt bad cover, but i feel like the singer would sound better if he was drunk or something. he just sounds tense. he needs to feel the music more. it almost sounds like hes singing just cuz its a job, not for the music. thats just my opinion.
@candoanything654: How come you know? Mozart would have hated anyone who plays his music, too? I don't think so. So why should Jim? Nothing better for a musician/songwriter than to be remebered by good musicians who play your songs...
@candoanything654 Are you in Jim's mind? Good tribute bands help introducing great music of the past to younger audiences and therefore they contribute to the scene. If you think about it, they're a good thing.
But you are a lucky person. For this year's Zagreb concert, The Doors Experience will also have no bass player. Klaus Bergmaier will play the keyboard bass.
blah blah blah, ray played the bass organ, hes not jim. ya da ya da.. hate ,hate , hate,.but wait..LOOK at the crowd participation. YEAH . now thats what its about. so all you know it alls and haters take a good look and shut the fffff UP. have a drink or something.. great job covering boyz..wish i was at that one
So ... who does it better, this guy or Val Kilmer? ... *giggle* (I'd vote for this guy, even if he is somewhat sterotyping, his voice is better ... *chuckle*)
wish they came to austin texas!!! they actually sound really good! and they make u feel like ur in the 60's again....i was born in the late 70's but this does give me a flash back of what i would lke to see111 thanks guys!!!
In addition to the classic Doors live gear organ, guitar & drums, THE DOORS EXPERIENCE add a bass player (like on the Doors entire studio recordings) plus an electric piano to their line-up, to be able to properly reproduce the trademark sound of songs like "Riders On The Storm" or "L.A. Woman".
@ledddzeppp26, you are right, jim would for shure, but after maiami exident he go paranoid drink, use more and more drugs, and instant drinking............. even if he wanted to think clear and see the setiuation, he could not....... doors was my favorite teen band, and now i like it. only because when morison past awey the rest 3 was caring jims massage to the world
The Doors experience, really? The Doors were nothing without Jim Morrison or Manzarak who started the Doors. It's an insult to the alcoholic/drug legacy of Morrison that anyone would try to emulate him.
i am not a fan of tribute bands at all ... cover a few bands songs you like ... then do your stuff this is so ...not there the pace is way to fast and its all Oliver stones fault this stuff ...
I'm 15, and I never got to see the likes of The Doors, Led Zeppelin etc..
But I love to listen to cover bands play there stuff live.
Obviously it's not as good, hence the reason it's also not as expensive.
But I'd rather go and see a classic rock cover band than most of these bands today, who are complete posers who make lethargic music..In my opinion anyway.
We decided to add a bassplayer (like on the Doors entire studio recordings) plus an electric piano to our line-up, to be able to properly reproduce the trademark sound of songs like "Riders On The Storm" or "L.A. Woman".
To play a Bassline on the Rhodes makes absolutely no sense, cause it does not have any pressure to get powerful bas sound live.
Well,Ray used the Rhodes piano bass live. My band uses it and it sounds great. You are right about songs like LA WOMAN though. We do have a guest bass player for that one. It does need that serious push that the rhodes does sometimes lack.
keyboard Bass sound great and most original. But we are more orientated on the Studio versions of The Doors (were on 95% plays a Bassist) and we are really convinced that a bassplayer is live a must to kick real ass.
@baronlejois: then i wonder why the doors kept playing live concerts with the fender piano bass, when its such a weak bass-instrument for playing live. i think that the vibes of the live bass-lines (eventhough played with a piano bass) were electrifying.
And even on the studio-versions of tracks like "the end" or "when the music`s over", there is no bass-guitar, only the fender piano bass and it sounds great.
@kualalumpi: The "kept" not all the time. They had bass players at some of their concerts in 1970, when Jim was still alive. And they ALWAYS had bass players in all their concerts after Jim had passed, be it in 1971 and 1972 or in the nearer past (as Doors of the 21st Century or Riders On The Storm or Manzarek/Krieger).
This group can only contribute to show that The Doors was so particular and unique(only)... The Doors it wasn't just some guitar riff, a drum rhythmic, amazing parts of keyboards and the voice of morrisson: it was much more than this... more than music... And the music of the DOors without this magic is so desperatly space
Actually, 42012221989, YOU are the retard! He's talking about the tribute band. Also only one member of the doors is dead, the great Jim Morrison (may he rest in peace). Some fan you are, you fucking cockhead!
Jim Morrison would be soooo fuckin pissed if he saw this yo.
