It's a very powerful song, especially at 0:55 when the muted trumpet comes in. There's no doubt, whatever you're about to face, it won't be an easy encounter. But it's also driving; it invokes some determination. "This fight won't be easy, but I'll make sure it's not easy for them either." The music from Touhou is so well crafted, it can tell the story and power of the gameplay on it's own. It's genius.

I didn't think of it as a fight at all, when I listened to it. The trumpet and the sweeping scales made me think of soaring through that imperishable night with clouds covering you with their mist as you pass through them. Then when it has that quiet moment at 1:20, that's like coming out upon the sunrise. ^^~
