  • AK, great tribute to the SEALS. I was going to train as one but I failed the test because I got blood poisoning in my legs the first week of boot camp. Yea, I went around barefoot all summer and in the fall, when I entered, I was issued tight boots that rubbed by skin the wrong way and the dye from the socks entered through my blistered skin and gave my legs cellulitis, bloating them up and resulting in hospitalization a week.     I asked the examiner if I could run the mile barefoot because my boots still rubbed up against my blisters the wrong way. He said I could not do it barefoot so after 1/4 mile I had to stop - instead I became a Navy corpsman after communications tech (Russian language) training was disrupted due to the lack of security clearance. I guess meek me is a threat to the mighty & elite, I dunno...
