  • Tom Brady any day over Manning but idk between ed Reed and Troy dats the most hardest pick for me

  • Tazmanian Devil Troy Polamalu, Terrific Tom Brady. Hands down. I could bring up all the reasons why, but itd take to long....

  • U know

  • Also, you cant determine how good a QB is based on their receivers. You have to understand that the Qbs make the recievers good, if Harrison, Wayne, Clark, and Garcon did not have Manning tthrowing to them, they would suck. the qbs make the recievers look good by throwing accurate passes, so in all seriousness the receivers do not matter THAT much

  • Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are both good. They both have amazing qualtities on the field. Brady is a winner, he plays best in high pressure situations(except for against the Giants) which resembles Joe Montana. Peyton Manning is a stat machine, and is the best leader that a team could have. Personally I think Peyton is better because when Brady got hurt, the Patriots still went 11-5, but when Peyton got hurt, the Colts are 0-9, so he makes a crappy team very good.

  • Ed reed is better thanTroy Polamalu......and the only reason why ed reed is "one dimensional" is because he is a FS and troy plays SS where he can play up to the line of scrimmage and rack up tackles

  • If Brady played in a dome his whole career like manning instead of an outdoor stadium in Boston... Brady would have absolutely ridiculous numbers. Nice to be able to throw without worrying about wind rain or snow in Indianapolis. I'll take Brady over Manning.

  • BS. Ed Reed is better

  • i mean seriously... i hate to harp on it but its also about their respective teams. Give ed reed TP's pass rush and ed gets 12 interceptions next year. I can almost guarantee it. The ravens pass rush last year was so pathetic... it was basically terell suggs with a bit of haloti since haloti gets double teamed almost every play. & if you think the pass rush is great bc the ravens sack big ben a lot thats false... The steelers O-Line is the worst in the AFC north. horrible Oline. Big ben is great

  • & to brians point on Prime ed v. Prime troy? well there was no comparison really. Prime ed reed was far and beyond the best safety. Lets all be honest here... James harrison STOLE ed reed's 2008 DPOY award. Troy Polamalu quite frankly got a lifetime achievement DPOY this year when clay matthews clearly should have been the DPOY as well. Troy if not for the 09 injury would have been battling out with woodson & revis for DPOY. Woodson got it which imo was false... revis should have got that award.

  • I'd disagree with Sky Warp. Tom Brady's system uses a lot of short quick throws. In fact, Brady had more throws travel 10 or fewer yards in the air than any QB in the NFL. According to ESPN, 2/3 of his passes traveled fewer than 10 yards in the air. Manning had a lot of passes travel 10 or fewer yards in the air as well but I think that had to do with the fact that his receivers were so banged up and he had a bad O-Line. I mean before Collie got hurt, he led the NFL in completions over 40 yards.

  • youre talking about tom having more recives he only has wes welker peyton has pieere garcon astin collie reggie wayne and dallas clark and tom still is better

  • @mukehba12 nah, not last year cuz like I mentioned half of Mannings starters were injured & he STILL put up good numbers, but the Pats have always had pro-bowl caliber recievers 2 make him look good & I bet Manning would have more rings than Brady if u swapped what teams they were on.

  • Did you guys watch the top 100 players of 2011. Enough said.

  • how many offenses has Manning played in during his career? Two? Maybe three? Brady started out in Weiss’ screen based offense. Adapted to McDaniel’s mixture of screens and deep balls for two years, then adapted to the 2007 Bombs away attack with Moss, then had to shift back towards a mixture of short and long balls with an aging Moss 2009 under O’Brien, before finally last year having to suddenly start relying on a two-three tight end based offense.

  • Brady has had 7 different “number one” receivers(6 if you think an older, post surgety Deion Branch was the same player he was from 2002-2005). Manning has had two. Oh, and Brady played with a broken foot last year.last 4 seasons(07-10 08 injury excepted arguably on the best run in history. rady is two years younger than Manning. If he has one more season like this, then reverts back to early career form, and plays the same length career as Manning, the debate won’t even exist.

  • Forgot to mention..1st unanimous nfl mvp EVER and he doesn't play in a dome like manning where his numbers sky rocket. I ill take the rings instead of the records.Ask Dan marino that and see what he'll say. Montana didn't have the best stats like Dan yet he is considered the best in history. At the end of the day is not about stats, its about championships. This debate wont be over till they both retire. I fear Peyton Manning but come playoff time...ill tk Brady

  • @smil3yjr617

its not about stats?so your saying there can be a quarterback with less then 50% passer rating his whole career but the team has a great run game and win 6 superbowls.you'd rather pick him up as a quarterback over brady or manning because he won 6 superbowls with his team?both brady and manning are great players but comparing mannings 4 mvp awards to brady's 1 from last year (great year for him) which are individual awards with little help from the team id have to pick manning

  • @TheDreadMan Wrong. troy brown 1 pro bowl , David patten NONE! Patriots TE's NONE! since Ben Coates Marvin Harrison Reggie Wayne and dallas Clark Combined have like 15 pro bowls. What are you talking about dude? and thats the pats winning years! Brady never won a superbowl with Wes and Randy! the only 2 pro bowl receivers Brady ever had!

  • @TheDreadMan I think peyton is better but pats always had pro bowl caliber receivers? since when? Peyton has had reggie wayne, dallas clark, marvin harrison and now has pierre garcon. Brady's best WR talent was randy moss (one of the best ever) but after that its deion branch and you think thats pro bowl caliber? clearly peyton has had more offensive weapons and thats an understatement. I'd still take peyton but jeez u r pushing it with saying brady always had pro bowl recievers he didn't.

  • @mukehba12 Peyton is going down as the greatest QB of all-time, when he retires....Brady is going down as a great QB, but I do have 1 question that no one can seem to answer......since spygate, why hasn't Brady even won a playoff game? Not even 1! Maybe it's because they don't have that advantage over teams any longer, because that Jets team that beat them in their own house in the 2010-11 playoffs, was the same team that the Pats beat up and down just a few weeks earlier by 30+ pts.

  • @mukehba12 where would any of those guys be without manning?

  • Comment removed

  • polamalu

  • These 2 r the best in the game today and probably the two best to ever play their positions. As you already stated Troy Polamalu is the bigger hitter of the two and is a little younger and probably faster. Reed is the ultimate ball hawk is always around the football.a natural play-maker possessing skills that are born not taught. It's close but I would take Reed because I wud rather get turnovers than highlight reel big hits! Both would do just fine. image them both on the same team tho!

  • It would work to if they both was on the same teamm because troy is an strong safety and reed is an free safety.. but to finish my answer to whos the better QB . I too would give Peyton the edge. Brady lost a mental edge after his injury..you could see he was scared when defenders got to close or actually hit him. He made a lot of mistakes this season because of it.

  • reed and manning got my votes.

  • "1 dimensional" ?

Just because he doesn't get the publicity of being a contender for the Super Bowl practically every year for being with the STEELERS. He's never choked up in the biggest game of his career. The INT/TD comparison says it all. Let's not even get into the tackles or tackles for loss. When they both retire Reed will be miles ahead of Troy. Peyton will retire the greatest QB of all time, Brady will retire a good winner.

  • i think ppl are forgetting when ed won his dpoy award he was playing ss not fs and he had twice the amount of int as troy. 9 picks 300 and some yd 1 td could of been two but one the td was call back due to blocking in the back by his teammate. ed can do all the things troy can as well. it's a toss up between those two except ed is a better coverage safety than troy plus he did a lot as a special team player as well.

  • Oh and Ed Reed is playing with a CAREER THREATENING neck injury if you didn't know.

  • Check out the Ed Reed vs Troy Polamalu video made by ccoolahan14

  • Of course you're gonna say Troy is better..You're a Steelers fan lol. Just like I'm a Ravens fan.

"I tell Ed Reed to his face all the time 'You're the greatest safety to ever play the game.' " -Troy Polamalu

  • Ed Reed Best Football Player in the world Right Now and and 9 years ago and has been for 9 years

  • @bevans52 hes good dont get me wrong, I jus think hes too 1 dimensional, but he's DAMN GOOD @ that 1 dimension

  • @TheDreadMan " 1 dimension" ed reed is playing with a CAREER THREATENING neck injury thats why they moved him from Strong saftey to free saftey so he wouldnt be forced to make so many tackles with his hurt neck and he still comes up and cracks ppl with his injury. troy cant play in man covrege and troy misses more tackles then ed does. if any one is one dimensinonal its troy when the packers went with 4 WR he was forced to play man on the slot WR and got burnt all game

  • @TheDreadMan ed reed 1 dimensional? i don't agree with that at all. Ed can still tackle efficiently a.k.a. he doesn't blow tackles when presented the opportunity. He may not blitz anymore (neck injury, career threatening and possibly life threatening if he doesn't tackle right) but he is elite in pass coverage which is the #1 fundamental aspect of a safety (especially a free safety). Ed is still good in run support when given the opportunity.

  • @TheDreadMan & then we get to the Troy Polamalu thing... Troy is a great safety. However if you arent tops in pass coverage which is the #1 FUNDAMENTAL JOB of a safety (SS or FS you need to be elite in coverage) then i don't even know why this conversation is even being had. If you can't be elite at the #1 job safeties are supposed to do then how can you really be the best safety? Adrian wilson, Prime bob sanders, Sean taylor (RIP) all played SS better because they can cover deep as well.
