i personal am a fan of taraji p henson i think she did a wonderful jod as well as terrence howard as far as them never hosting the soul train awards before all thought you did not mention anything about that damn sexy ass robin thicke the review was okay. i do argree with some of the things you said though. keep up the good work on your show and uprise us with some new revies.

As for Keri Hilson's lack of stage performance I think the same can be said for Neyo but they both started out as songwriters so maybe they already KNEW where they were meant for...behind the scenes work but it just so happens that they're can sing.

U forgot to mention Trey Songz (he did a a good job, not his best but good) Robin Thicke also did his thing. I've seen them both live, they are both amazing! Chrisette definately blew it away! The tributes were very well put together considering...I enjoyed Boyz to Men and Johnny Gill! I didn't really like the show. Most of the tributes were wack. Boyz to men kilt it, Brian Mcknight kilt it, Chrisette Michelle absolutely MURDERED it, Johnny Gill ripped it and I loved Chaka Khan's tribute! It seemed like it was only like 3 awards given out tho.
OMG that happened to me too LOL!! It was after 1 or 2am in NZ and i was just about to skoff down some chocs and BAM got the fright of my life..hahahaha!!! and for the next 20 minutes i had to listen to slow jams to calm my nerves down:-)
There's no reason why we can't have an award show thats as classy as the Grammys or Oscars. I only watched about an hour of the show and from what I saw, I didn't see any hip hop performances so I don't understand why it was almost as ghetto, unprepared, and wild as the BET Awards. They had all these neo-soul and legendary artists performing (most of who are QUALITY artists) and yet they couldn't put on a better QUALITY show. We need to show the world that we have upgraded from the Source awards

Toni Braxton and Trey Songz did a good job. The Motown Tribute and Chaka Khan tribute was the best part of the show. Chico Debarge did a good job, Melanie Fiona and the other guy did a good job. Other than that, the Soul Train Awards was boring.

BoyzllMen is the best R&B group ever in my OPINION. Every member can sing and there was never a lead in the group. BoyzllMen just released a collection of Love songs and the songs are from various genres of music and I love the cd. Its pathetic that certain types of music dont get shine no more. Some people are purchasing HORRIBLE songs and really calling it music. To answer your question, the show was unorganized in my opinion and the editing SUCKED MAJORLY.

I didn't really like the show. Most of the tributes were wack. Boyz to men kilt it, Brian Mcknight kilt it, Chrisette Michelle absolutely MURDERED it, Johnny Gill ripped it and I loved Chaka Khan's tribute! It seemed like it was only like 3 awards given out tho.

The Soul Train Awards used to be really good. The problem is, it's the end of November when most artists are still on tour. It used to be in April.

OMG that happened to me too LOL!! It was after 1 or 2am in NZ and i was just about to skoff down some chocs and BAM got the fright of my life..hahahaha!!! and for the next 20 minutes i had to listen to slow jams to calm my nerves down:-)

There's no reason why we can't have an award show thats as classy as the Grammys or Oscars. I only watched about an hour of the show and from what I saw, I didn't see any hip hop performances so I don't understand why it was almost as ghetto, unprepared, and wild as the BET Awards. They had all these neo-soul and legendary artists performing (most of who are QUALITY artists) and yet they couldn't put on a better QUALITY show. We need to show the world that we have upgraded from the Source awards

Toni Braxton and Trey Songz did a good job. The Motown Tribute and Chaka Khan tribute was the best part of the show. Chico Debarge did a good job, Melanie Fiona and the other guy did a good job. Other than that, the Soul Train Awards was boring.

Sorry Kev, on the whole I did NOT like the Soul Train Awards. I agree with you that Maxwell, Amerie and others should have performed. I only watched it to see the rumored tongue kiss between Toni Braxton and Trey Songs. I was truly disappointed to see they cut it. Only the Chaka Khan tribute was good because I LOVE me some Chaka!

-Chaka tribute was sooooo good.
-The girl who was with Estelle did horrible.
-Trey Songz gorgeous as always.

ok ya'll, i was very disappointed!!! i don't know who chose those people for Charlie Wilson songs, but they did not give him any justice. I was too much edited, they kept showing the artist and then the audience and they were not on the same beat....Just a Mess

the Soul Train Awards was ok. but it should get better as time goes on. just give it a chance. I just feel that even though the network is called BET it shouldn't be about 1 race anymore. that it will be way better if the awards shows *soul train and BET award show* had all races and genre of music styles. it's def lacking that in my opinion.

I thought the show was ok..it could have been better..i thought they should have edited better and not cut so much stuff out..b/c it was noticeable..i thought they should of done a Michael Jackson tribute..my fav performers were: Fantasia,Keri,Ledisi,Chrisette,Toni & Trey etc..overall the show was ok..i think it could have been better..they always hype these award shows up and in the end we're left wanting more..but kudos to Don Cornelius & the sout train legacy!!!

I don't get it. Because it's a black award show it's okay to be mediocre?? Anyway, Bob Johnson sold out in a major way. He's a boy in my book. That's why he wears that silly grin all the time. And Kerri Hilson is yet another average Atlanta act. Music artists should blow us away. Especially if they want us to buy their albums. And Taraji is not a good singer. She a good actress.

I actually thought kerri hilson did an ok job as far as singing at the awards. She sounds great the performance was ok it wasnt all that but then again i didnt expect her performance to hook me so it's whatever. I thought it was funny how keri's face was all in the background just blown up but overall it was just ok. i dont hate it but i dont love it

BoyzllMen is the best R&B group ever in my OPINION. Every member can sing and there was never a lead in the group. BoyzllMen just released a collection of Love songs and the songs are from various genres of music and I love the cd. Its pathetic that certain types of music dont get shine no more. Some people are purchasing HORRIBLE songs and really calling it music. To answer your question, the show was unorganized in my opinion and the editing SUCKED MAJORLY.

FACT CHECKS: Toni Braxton grew up in church playing the piano and singing with her sisters. Mike from Boys ll Men doesnt have beef with anyone he has SCOLIOSIS. I liked how some people say the show sucked and it was lame and don't even mention why? I actually like the show last night some of the performances could have been better but I thought majority of them did great. I love love love Teraji I think she's defiantly blossoming into a force to wrecked with in Hollywood, she's gorgeous, multi-talented, classy and still real. The skits were a little corny but aren't they all on award shows.

Oh yeah, I liked Robin Thicke's performance but was it just me & my fam's eyes or did you guys see it when everytime they put the camera in the audience they were just staring at him with no emotion??? As to say get yo ass off that stage??? I wonder did he feel uncomfortable. When KC & Jojo performed with him, I was like oh no. KC kept screamin and growling and jumpin. Surprisingly the one who was on drugs in the past, Charlie Wilson, I had no clue of it. I'm like oh my god, was that the thing 2 do back then? watching the Soul Train Awards on my DVR and its so fucking horrible...Was it only me or the skits and singing with T. The show was alright. I still love Boys II Men also, they've been around a long time. Ryan Leslie was so boring, his dancers were horrible. Mario and Sean could have been better, Kandi's voice was raspy, Brian McKnight was phenomenal. Raheem DeVaughn and Ludacris were excellent too. CHRISETTE MICHELLE DID A FABULOUS JOB!!! She was into it, she had the energy and everything.
I mean they had some very good performances but I agree the 1st half was just ok, the 2nd half was good as hell.
