Subaru Outback Honeymoon Commercial

Subaru needs to lose the sappy "love" tagline and just focus on the "confidence in motion" tagline that they just implemented.

Don't get me wrong, I like some of Subaru's cars (there at least 3 in my family that I know of), but I wouldn't be caught dead driving one with these sappy (and thus crappy ) ads floating around out there.

The idiot at Subaru of America who green-lighted the whole "love" campaign should be fired. Bad ad campaigns can kill sales just as much as any other factor can.

@maxim159 I'm not saying jeep is better I own an impreza and minus the reliability I enjoy it. I can't say I've driven a jeep but I don't imagine they're quite as fun or rigid. All I meant to say was it wouldn't surprise me if jeep tried to appeal to a certain audience by filming a jeep commercial in a war zone or a replicated one. I don't count the call of duty edition jeep commercials though.

Subaru has outstanding all-wheel drive system best one out there so plz for the love of god dont bring jeep (city car now) above Subaru. Jeep used to be nice off-road car but times changed

I don't know why I hate this ad but I really hate this ad. It's trying so hard to be "indie" and laid back and hip and whimsical and carefree. Can't stand it. Why do hipsters try so hard to be so world weary? Most ads suck. I wish they had never been invented.

@shelton705 There is nothing wrong with laid back, whimsical and carefree but this commercial is totally co-opting those emotions in order to sell a product. The button pushing is so transparent. Advertising is a necessary part of capitalism. I just don't like when they turn it into a form of pollution. This commercial is almost a form of assault. I'm not kidding. It's that bad.

As far as Subaru is concerned, If you live in America you really should buy an American brand car, not just a car that is made in America but it's management is from Japan or something. That's America you are supporting when you do that. It's part of being a good citizen.

It is a sweet commercial and anyone giving negative feedback are complete pessimists. Clearly you guys need to get a better outlook on life or you'll be doomed for unhappiness. The point of the commercial is advertisement but the story line itself shows a couple going the extra mile to share a memorable moment with one another and despite a downpour finding the best in each other and the day all together.

Some of the most popular commercials out there today use something that has been "done before" or just readjust an old concept. My wife and I recently returned from our honeymoon in Maui. This commercial reminds of the road to Hana. It rains there frequently and the backside of Hana is where the cattle ranches are it's rugged terrain is "sort of" off limits to rental cars, but we decided to drive it anyway in our rental Mazda 3 sedan. I thought to myself how much easier it would be in a Subaru lol. Very enjoyable drive. We miss it already.

How pathetic. They use the same song the Cadillac used about 4 years ago for their, then new, SRX model. You can find that clip by searching for "The Cadillac SRX m. ward". This is even more embarrassing that using other companies technologies. I guess that there will always be originals and followers. No offense to my Subaru owner friends.
