I love the song at the end!!! That was just beautiful & it conveys what I've always felt. I was raised Catholic, but this has been what I thought even as a small girl.
"We all come from the Goddess & to her we shall return. Like a drop of rain flowing to the ocean".
I'm sorry for my terrible English! I'm so glad that in Italy do not exist coven like yours. How nice to be able to celebrate like fairies you! These things of usual I make them alone :(( Blessed be and happy Lugh to all you
I completely agree. I get so tired of skinny people acting as though everyone should be skinny, and that those who are not are somehow inferior or weak. Well, guess what? Some people are predisposed to be overweight no matter what they do, and judging them for it is a very good example of violating the Rede. They're not hurting you. Leave them alone. Being judgemental is for Christians and assholes.
Agreed. I mean come on! Way back in the day (Which was a Wednesday, in case you were wondering), before all these bodily conscious shinanigans, Venus (or Aphrodite, whichever), the goddess of love and beauty, was fat!
I long to be part of such a large community. All I have is a couple of friends (don't get me wrong, they're some of the best friends I've ever had). I was born and raised Catholic, but I found my true calling in Wicca. Unfortunately I can't seem to find any covens in my area.
Solitaries of the world Unite? Im in the same boat as you hun :p. Most of my friends and family are fire and brimstone christians. My tounge is so sore from constant biting XD.
Wow, a fly ageric mushroom at 0:25! How neat! I've only ever seen one, and it was a pitiful example, almost orange. It was at Girl Scout camp, actually, through none of them had any idea what it was. It was my dad, who was helping us on that trip, who spotted it.

I JUST began to look up rituals on youtube, and while I certainly do not discriminate or mind in the least bit, most of the men and women in these Pagan videos do appear to be very unhealthy! which is strange, because I was born and raised Pagan, raised on mainly natural, organic food, which compliments Paganism perfectly. So I'm quite healthy, and most Pagans I know are as well. If you neglect your body while trying to fullfill your spirituality, you're not understanding what Paganism truely is
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Fist of all the people in the video are in no way "Pagans." They are "Neopagans." I think they look unhealthy because they are in fact unhealthy do to their Neopagan lifestyle, a lifestyle of instant gratification and comfort. These people aren't interested in researching anything and aren't used to hearing the word "no." This is the last vestige of the hippy movement.
Agreed, mostly. I think that hippies do thrive(what with being one myself) but it's not fair to say that all hippies are unhealthy neo pagans with no regard to fitness. My Pagan beliefs are inbeded within every fiber of me, and with it, an instinctual desire for balance and health in every facet of life.
When you begin to follow a path of "enlightenment" towards a "spiritual goal", it is part of the quest to look at parts of your life that may need accepting or need cleansing/cleaning.
Its a continual cleansing... each day to be conscious and responsible of who you are and what you do in the world. If you are comfortable (deep down) with all that you are (fat, thin, fit or not, whatever colour race or path) and all that you portray in the world, then that seems a good measure of "fairness".

Um, unless they're Satanist or some other 'do as thou wilt' religion, it does in fact mean they do not fully understand what it means to be Pagan. Extreme lack of health represents the mind, body disparity. It tells the world, it's people, and deities in which they believe, that they do no care about the bodies they have been gifted. completely neglecting one aspect of life and over indulging in another just goes to show everyone how 'serious' they are about their faith.
people are overweight for various reasons, not only because they over indulge. you can be ignorant and condemn people for extra pounds, but the reality is that this is a RELIGION and a SPIRITUALITY and that the body is merely a shell for the soul. your SOUL is what you feel tingling and bursting with happiness during a ritual or spell. these people are no lesser spiritual beings than anyone else. yes, taking care of your body is important, but the god and goddess love them the same.
I am wiccan for 9 years!!I pratice Wicca by myself..I live in South Hemisphere and i will celebrate Lammas at next Saturday!!I liked to see and hear you!!Hail the Goddess..
I have to wait so much so I can finally become a Wiccan, but I don't care, because I want it so bad I will spend the next 13 moons studying, practicing and celebrating!
I'm a solo practitioner (for now) , so it's really great to see how rituals are done in a group. Hopefully I'll be a part of something similar some day.
It's sort of like the Lammas Games down this way. We have a bunch of different activities: Bake-off, bellydancing courses, everyone brings their own picnic, etc and then we have the main ritual that starts off with the "All Skills Parade"

Oh I bet the lady leading this thing has a book in the works if not a few out there already. This stuff is big business. Here are some good titles for her next one: "Irish Shamanism" "The Goddess Samhain" "Wiccan Ogham". How's that for marketing Knottedd?
I'm just letting people who watch this know that there's nothing "nice" about ripping-off other culture's terminologies, rituals and symbols, whether they be Celtic, Germanic, Native American, or any other endangered culture that happens to be deemed the flavor of the month for the neo-pagans.
You don't understand that these people are presenting a "make it up as you go" mish-mosh and calling it the "old ways"? They plumb through a few books, take what they want (names of Celtic dieties, runes, ect.) and mix it with their modernist agendas (rapid feminism, political correctness, ect.) and market it to the public. You think this is healthy?
Every culture shares roots from others. Hell, the Catholic rituals are culled from hundreds of cultures. Druidic rites came from Germanic, Italian, even Middle Eastern sources. It would make any religion stale not to evolve and borrow from one another. Native cultures shared rites nationwide, and continue to.
"Shares" is a relative term. What happened throughout history over long spaces of time where ideas were borrowed and appropriated on the borrower's own terms is much different then creating an eclectic mish-mosh where the parts have no relevance to eachother.

Amazing. The lady leading this mess couldn't even correctly pronounce "Lughnasadh". If your going to steal terminology from other cultures, you should at least research it a little bit! It just shows how self-absorbed this whole "Neo-Pagan" movement is.

I'm sick of people saying such nasty things about how the coven looks in this video.
Weight issues are personal and shouldn't be pointed out in such nasty ways
I'm surprised that fellow pagans even say such trash on people they've only seen on one side.
If most of the group was scarly skinny you would say the same thing about them...
you just think that they have no control and impulsive...
have some respect so you can be earn respect

I love watching how the celebrations of one holiday can be celebrated so differently from person to person, coven to coven!
I celebrated Lughnasadh (don't like calling it by it's shorter Xtian name) today with my sister, so seeing such a large group is so wonderful!
