When you change from the E5, it's a goes to a B7sus... (no pinky on the G string). Give it a try and see what you think. Great videos, thanks for sharing.
Kudos to you man! Great job in showing your ability and a really good job in teaching the lesson, MUCH BETTER THAN the guy in the Hawaiian shirt who basically teases people about what he knows! He knows who he is too and I know what he is. Thanks for showing how easy a little dedication can be. Just like many things in life, people over complicate everything! Thanks for keeping it real and being decent about what you know.
Great lesson! Thanks very much!!!! It always amazes me how simple some great songs can be. I had to search for my capo, but I found it and wow... now I have a new song in my repertoire. Thanks again!
Hi, I just happen to dropby yr lesson on Sundown. Thanks for sharing. Btw, may I know what guitar are you using here ? Dam good sounding. I like the deep bass and the highs are sparkling. I want to buy something similar. Please email me the specs - what wood, top, sides and back ? what brand and how much will it cost. Please email me at stratboy99@lycos.com cos
Great lesson dude, I have the same capo as you. You need to put it more forward though! You want it placed as close as possible just behind the fret, just like with good fingering,, just behind the fret. Hope that help you! peace.
Hay thanks for the info: Do you ever use dad-gad tuning? dadgad? I could use some info on this.. If you are bissy it's no big deal, just trying to get ah hold on this music thing, thanks again and thanks for the help! Jr
@Bittersweet2handgo I normally put the capo on and then make sure it's in tune. A guitar might be perfectly in tune without a capo, then go slightly off when you put the capo on. You could tune up two full steps and not use a capo at all, but you'll risk breaking strings. Plus, going up two steps puts a lot of extra tension on the neck, so you wouldn't want to keep it tuned that way for an extended period.
great lesson...enjoying all your vids...especally stones....i suck at figuring songs out so these vids are very helpful...awesome guitar is that a D-45
Dude, i'm doing some percussion strumming techniques today and this song comes to mind before i fall asleep, and heres your vid. it has that kinda clicky sound but apparently no percussion. i think it will sound good with it..but definitely enjoyed this, you should include your strum pattern in vids, it helps a heep of folks, everybody is asleep or i'd be jammin it right now. i look forward to using your chords tomorrow...thanks bro
The problem with getting the strumming hand in the shot is that you have to pull the camera shot out wider -- and then it's harder to see what the fretting hand is doing.
I'll do some experimenting to see if I can get more picking in the shots, though.

do you tune standard then capo it to the second fret, or tune when the capo is on the second fret, I"m conf? Can I tune up and not use the capo?

Close -- it's a D41. The only difference is the 41 doesn't have the inlay on the back and doesn't have it around the neck/body join.
