It is not actually running simultaneously, no? Resident in memory, or saved to SD, like for hibernation? Chroot? I don't think so, because how could all the possibly changed hardware state be transfered/corrected by another OS when it is already fired up? Who is getting the hardware? Some kind of virtualization?
