the performance took place a month into school, a lot of us were still rusty from the summer dry spell (and the chemistry between under and upper classmen werent great back in the fall.. let alone great with the conductor)

Well I can say that I've heard worse. These guys aren't professionals, so don't treat them like EACH AND EVERY note has to be on pitch otherwise it's bad. I think they actually did well. There were a few parts there were out of key, but people shouldn't be so critical when there's no need to be. To say that the musicians don't have passion may be true, but hey, when I was in high school orchestra half of the people were there just to get credit--they're the ones lacking passion.

I'm from Abington (PA) and we're also playing this piece.

In the begininning of this performance, it sounds...blah. It drags on. It begins picking up pace once percussion comes in, but even that is lack luster.

There seems to be no passion behind these musicians and this piece in particular.

Not that good, my Orchestra is playing this peice, we're the Dobyns-Bennet Orchestra, like the number 1 Band in the Country (and in the state of Tennessee) and we sound much better. Brass makes the whole peice out of tune, Cellos (Which I play) were miserable. The cello section skipped the hard part after the fast section, where you have to go up really high, that was sad. And also, the violin section were slumping.

Dude your violas suck, I could barely hear the harmony from them. And then you had to slow down "The Sword" at the Allegro for them and they couldn't even play the "Turned in for Sweets" correctly. My orchestra played this song in our concert a couple of days ago, and it was far better than yours.

Sorry, I just hate for a very good song like this to be played by people who who haven't the ability for it. However, I apologize for telling the orchestra that they were bad. It was wrong of me to brag, though I will not take back the fact that they lacked the ability to play this song well. Also, the external voices are very immature also. I expect better from an audience.

They do have the POTENTIAL to play this song well. Seriously, for being a high school orchestra, they did very well. Why don't you rate them according to what they are.

If this was a professional orchestra, yes, I would agree that they could've been better. Yet, seeing as they are not a professional orchestra, and are infact a high school, they did do fairly well. No one is perfect at everything. Even with the soundtracks, do you know how many times they have to dub and edit stuff? Really.
