Did you use a number 4 on top? The measurements I use in UK for the Wahl clipper are in mm. Each number being 3mm. So if you used the number 4 guard =12mm.

Are you using a Andis Master? DO you like the fine incremental adjustments? Are they numbered on the side by the lever? Do Andis offer coloured guards or are they some other universal fitting make?

What is the shortest cut you are able to give using scissors over your fingers on top of head? Do you prefer clippers to scissors? I do. Cheers.
