what the??, every bad driving practise is perfected here!! brakes are grabbing/locking up so car is nearly going off on most corners, going into corners way too hot, then trying to drift out of them.. makes me cringe..bad steering wheel grip position and gloves seem too big, I hope this guy is nowhere near me on my trackday at Castle Combe. :-(

What's so wrong with engine braking and the handbrake? Ok he might bump in to someone in the corner, but it's much slower and safer than jumping on the grass and conceding all hope of any control to the lap of the gods. If you're not 100 percent sure of that, you and the car should be no where near a race track. The only reason that the Norris designs car was keeping up with the Red Evo was because he had more power and castle combe is really a power track and can mask a badly set-up and badly driven car. The Red Evo was so much faster into and round the corners it was only the power that was letting him keep up. If the Red Evo didn't drive so defensively after he went past, I think he would have drove away from him

This no more than a racing incident. Any car can suffer a mechanical failure, so you can't blame Simon. All things considered he did the best he was able to. Lost his brakes at well over a hundred so if he'd carried on in a straight line he would have collected alot more cars, I think, knowing this, hes gone off the track in an effort to try and avoid the others. Its just bad luck that he tagged the red Evo.

I think you will find he can drive, a few crashes doesn't necessarily make him a bad driver, drivers crash all the time, its a part of racing.

Also the other evo was getting out of shape a few times as well, not just Norris.

I'm not a massive fan of the bloke, but it gets annoying when people bitch and moan. Would like to see you do better in that situation.

Munkel, the chasing evo does not have anywhere near 800-900bhp even at the fly, the evos at castle coombe are around 500 bhp mark maybe 600 but not 800

This guy needs to set the car up better, it looks like a pig to drive.Looks like it's under steering all over the place, he is working that wheel way to much to be as fast as it could be. Its no wonder he crashed when he had to deal with that. Maybe less power/boost and more testing would be a good place to start.

Brake failure can happen at any time in any car, I had the same thing in my old GTiR so learn about cars before you comment on someone like simon.

You can clearly see that Mr Norris failed to change down missed the gear and changed into neutral, clearly on the in car video. The effect of missing the gear and trying to brake without any drive to either of the 4 wheels and no reduction of speed from the engine and relying purely on brakes would under braking make the car break traction.

Evoracecraft - you are talkting rubbish. The slight fumble for the shifter is deep into the braking zone and probably the result of the terrifying prospect of having no reduction of speed despite stamping on the brakes.

I'm not a huge Norris fan, but the video shows it all - mechanical failure/racing incident. Norris did the best he could in a bad situation. Last years 106 incident was much more his responsability, but one mistake does not mean all future crashes are his fault.
