I just think MGMT have more range, creatively and stylistically. Oracular Spectacular and Congratulations are albums that give hope for the future of rock/pop music by incorporating elements of psychedelia, electronica, new-wave, punk, folk, dance etc. with such apparent ease and proficiency. That's quite a span of genres for just two albums.

The truth about Oasis in regards to class is that they being poor as youths had nothing to do with them being unfortunate. They were troublesome punks who never tried at school, never finished their educations, and thats why they were stuck at working-class level. Thom Yorke from Radiohead was in a similar position to them, but he studied hard at school and got into Oxford. He wasn't richer than them, as Noel accused him of being. People are acutally able to pull themselves out of the slums.
