  • from 0:05-0:10, I thought YouTube had a new fast forward button I had jammed

  • David Thorne Liked this video.

  • @BloodRefiner That's how I found it xD

  • @BloodRefiner Who's David Thorne?

I actually already know, but I wanted to give you a surge of excitement from thinking that you knew something that somebody else didn't.

  • @kalvaza How thoughtful.

  • My Concealed Handgun License instructor showed us this video in class. I think everyone's jaw dropped at is marksmanship.Amazing!

  • The government doesn't dictate your rights to you. You dictate your rights to your government. If you don't like your governments gun control laws, tell them to get bent... you didn't vote on them, nobody you know did. More people start ignoring this garbage, then more jurors will say... hey, this guy just owns a full auto gun or a silencer, like I own my tennis shoes. There is no victim, and so there is no crime. We are the final authority, the judge is just a referee between the two lawyers.

  • Probably a Para since he's sponsored by them.

  • pistols are very in accurate and good for nothing peices of shit

  • Is that a SA Operator he's using?

  • oi eu sou ric Roger Amador estava chegando eu estava jogando mundos pilipinas.ako Meron aq eu estou também conta facebook

  • Hacker.

  • Im just getting into handguns, cant wait to purchase my first one. Only have $600 for one though. Im wanting a Glock 17 Gen 4. But im still doing some research on whats out there for the money. Anyway, great video....nice first lesson there.

  • @GreenEYESfromOHIO go depending on the cartridge, I would go for a smith and wesson m&p .40 if you are looking for home defense. A little more expensive for brass, but I think its worth it

  • 85 people are terrorists and afraid of this man...

  • @TJeffrey13

    HAHAHAHAHAHA! wow. thats great.

  • Ya......Bravo!

  • cool video, what is the manufacturer of the 1911s shown on the table and used by the student?

  • Great info,thanks.

  • Wow lol he good! 1911

  • Dang that guy is good!

  • I had my gun out while watching this video, and wow. my 1911 already feel way more comfortable in my hand. amazing 1:03 and on.

  • 0:33 don't put the finger on the pistol :D

  • give him a call, for the cheap price of 2500 bucks a day he will come to you

  • 1911 is the best....

  • @brincredible316 100 years of awesome can't be wrong.

  • How come i shoot low everytime with my 1911? Anyone? Is it the trigger finger or the handhold? I read it is a beginners problem with most 1911 owners? Thanks people

  • @wilco490 Shots low are usually a result of a pre-ignition push. You are anticipating the recoil and pressing against the anticipated recoil before it happens. It is likely a result of you being sensitive to the .45 recoil or psychologically pre-disposed to believing the recoil will be severe. Change calibers or dry-fire a lot more. Train yourself to manipulate the trigger without anticipating the recoil. Snap-caps/dummy-rounds will show this anticipation.

  • Thanks, i think you are right about this. I allready tried a .357, was far more accurate for me so it must have something to do with the triggerfinger as i suspected, i dont think it is recoil-fear. Also my griphold can be an issue, i may also have to trie some other grips (hogue or other). Did not think about dummy's to practice dryfire, good idea! Also i noticed the full-lenght guide rod is somewhat bent when i roll it over a table, may have to trie a short one or Wilson replacementpart.

  • You know how you can snipe with pistols in video games??

    He's doing it

  • 80 ppl cant shoot a .45

  • Jethro Dionisio of the Philippines is a good match with jARRET

  • lol...Americans

  • @kotzbrocken lol I can't hear you over our Second Amendment

  • Does anyone know where else and I can other similar video to this one by Todd?? All the other videos on youtube about Todd are of him shooting. Or do I have to buy one of his video? anyone know of a video from Todd that talks about this sort of stuff?

  • I like how he constantly refers to his forefinger as the trigger. He IS the gun. His finger IS the trigger. He shoots so well its amazing.

  • This guy seriously makes it look like a video game. Extremely rapid fire with no recoil.

  • 2:36

    Dead center.

  • Could this be a sport?

  • @cutecookii101

    It is.

  • @SLINGSBYFIREFLY

I'm no expert, but a couple of thoughts: practice squeezing the trigger slowly and smoothly, it should come as a slight surprise when the gun goes off. Also try this one-handed (depending on the calibre you're firing). I struggled with supporting hand thumb position and experimented today on the range and that altered my fall of shot drastically.

  • Dont take your rights for granted, on the canadian side of the border were spending millions on our registry, restricting guns to the max and we still have yet to figure out why criminals havent quit or retired because their guns are not registered. Be proud of your freedom, peace.

  • @RacoonBlue

sound like us here in California. Keep fighting brother, NEVER GIVE UP!

  • The pro's make it look so easy. He can fire a 45 like it is a 22 in his hand.

    Thanks for posting..

  • @palonejr Agreed. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I thought it was no larger than a 9mm. When I fire off a .45 it pops up like crazy. So I'm trying to pay close attention to his grip technique lol.

  • @palonejr

agreed, it flies all over in my hand :(

  • @palonejr a .45 really isn't as bad as you make it out to be

  • @asianpwnyourbigass

Never said it was. I carried one for two years as an Armor crewman in the Army.

  • @palonejr Yes, of course his fundamentals are very good. That being said though, it is prolly a light loaded .38 Its what a lot of IPSC or IDPA shooters use in custom race 1911's.

  • @palonejr target ammo is not as heavily loaded as regular rounds, I have shot someone's match gun with .38 special loaded as if its barely lobbing the bullet down range. I'm not sure if .45 is loaded as such, but something tells me its different than conventional range fodder. The control though, is still nothing short of amazing.

  • Amazing instruction.

  • I'm cross dominant (right-handed, left eye dominant) so I have been using my left to shoot, with a handgun would it matter?

  • Let take your guns from the government, from switzerland! Would make the freaking states s safer place!!!

  • 5 fucking stars!!

  • i feel like i can shoot 100% better now just from watching that video

  • I would love to go to his shooting workshops, this guy is awesome. He shoots the 1911 like a auto pistol. Tod Jarrett knows his stuff.

  • one of the best videos a newbie should watch!!! some will say he is not the best shooter, but he is better than they will ever be. haters gonna hate

  • @du9207 I've been shooting for years and this still helped me out!

  • this guy is nasty!

  • Sam fishers dad

  • This video is very informative and has helped immensely with pistol control and accuracy.

  • Different when the targets moving lol

  • @kenny01622

yea tell em. its also different if he was underwater. or if the pistol was a shotgun.

  • Wow I'm terrible at shooting handguns but when it comes to rifles I'm your girl!

  • I'm doing this with a semi-auto Glock 17. The only issue I have is that since there's no manual safety to rest the thumb on, my thumb (trigger hand) sits on top of the slide stop. There's really no negative impact while shooting but the slide stop sometimes won't always pop up to lock the slide back open after the last round.

It'll be even more noticeable with a Glock 34 since it has an extended slide stop. I just wanted to make this known to all Glock fans.

    Awesome advice, otherwise!

  • Very informative, helped out my grip loads.

  • @PAprepper You're an idiot.

  • he must be using light loads or something :o

  • Would love to train with this guy.

  • if you shoot chuck norris, ur the one that dies....

  • what 79 idiots disliked this video

  • He brings up many good points about stance and gripping techniques that i totally agree with. His gripping techniques gives better control and does help most peoples grouping as far as I've seen.

Also, your thumbs are surprisingly not interferon With the slide, at least as far as I've tested.

I do disagree about looking at the sights and not the target though, I've never had any good luck with that.

  • todd jarrett is awesome

  • I find handguns more interesting than rifles. It takes more skill to shoot handguns than rifles.

  • @REGO02

mmm..I dunno about that haha. I love both but I see my breathing affecting my rifle shooting A LOT more than my pistol shooting. Although, of course, you can stabilize a rifle more than you can a handgun. Again, they're both great :) AR's/Bolt-action rifles are awesome

  • what gun is that???? i like it so much

  • @hdominguez45 M1911

  • @hdominguez45 He is using a Para Ordinance 1911

  • 0:00 through 0:04 is black ops zombies

  • Gercek bir uzman...

  • this guy suck he wrong

  • m1911?

  • @alpergumussu what about it?

  • @xxMRGRENADExx it was a question ; )

  • @alpergumussu i dont understand the question

  • @xxMRGRENADExx jezus christ nevermind

  • Just watching this vid several times has made me a better shooter. The consistency tips helped a lot!

  • @Condawgg how do you know it made you a better shooter if you just watched it...

  • @sweftwp

Because when I went to the range with my P99 I noticed a 2in group reduction at 25 yards, just by employing the stance and grip techniques.

  • @Condawgg then you didnt just watch it moron

  • @sweftwp

Well it's strongly implied I watched and implemented.

There's no need to be a jerk either, I didn't kick your dog; relax.

  • Press all the numbers

  • my guess is not to break into his place

  • 77 "know it all's"

  • @CaptainPicardX same thing as the British guy -from Canada.

  • so based on what todd is saying... we should be focusing our eyes on the sights of the firearm, not the target...?

  • correct techniques and a shit load of rounds down range= this guy.

  • Isn't it better to train, looking at the target through the sights, rather than looking a the sights, with target behind them?

  • @Oxstayne No you don't want to look at the target. Its like he said you want to look at your sights and allow the the target to get "fuzzy". Looking at the the Target will throw your shot off.

  • @Ethreo Yeah, but have you ever seen those video's of law enforement engage with a bad guy who just rob a bank or something. Ever notice how the miss so many shots? Well that's cause their trained to shoot while looking at thier sights, not at their target. It's a kind of extreme instinctual shooting. I'm not 100% sure. I'll have to try shooting both ways.

  • aa so bored any guys want to rescue me

  • Does anyone know what gun Jarrett uses?

  • @joba606 Para Ordnance LDA, looks like they are using SSP in this vid.

  • @joba606

whatever his sponsors feel like throwing at him for free, lol

  • @Killinemdead1

The one who fucked your mom. Tell her I'll be back later.

  • @GreatLoner Hahaha!

  • @Killinemdead1 if it was not for the "FAGGOTS" that have guns you would be dead.

  • @kelsoks guns are made for killing people

  • @Killinemdead1 DUH!!! You think?

  • @Killinemdead1 Guns save lives of law abiding citizens everyday. I own lots of guns and so do many other people. We have a right to own a gun it says so in the constitution. If you don't like guns that is your choice but don't come crying to us when someone breaks into your house and you cant to a damn thing about it when they point a gun at your head. I and many others will not be victims to those murderers. Liberals people that don't know what they are talking about make me laugh. :)

  • @Killinemdead1

By your obviously very thought through comment, its obvious that you are one of those people who cannot be argued with; as it is impossible to have an actual debate with a person (apparently) devoid of logic. People who post things such as this, both horribly wrong factually and unnecessarily offensive, make me personally feel extremely frustrated and wondering how you have come to this 'conclusion'. For I cannot fathom any line of thought to bring me to a result such as this.

  • @Killinemdead1

you fuckin idiots that think like this are the reason these mass murders happen like the one that just happened in Arizona. if more people had guns and carried the (faggots and muderers) probably would think twice about going and shooting up a bunch of people. Oh and just for dumb asses like yourself i carry ALL day every day!. I think every responsible person should have a concealed weapsons permit!

  • @Killinemdead1 without guns you wouldnt be here ass hole

  • @Killinemdead1 If that's what you think, then you should thank all those faggots and murderers that sacrificed their lives and a lot more to keep you from having to grow up speaking German or Japanese. You idiot!

  • @Killinemdead1 well guns are for justice and justice is awesome ;D

  • @Killinemdead1 Im a gay murderer dude spot on.

  • Comment removed

  • @Killinemdead1 I LOVE how your user name is "KILLINEMDEAD1" but yet your dissin on guns and murdering??? :0

  • @joshag96 you probably think you're the first fuck face to come up with that. bitch

  • @Killinemdead1 someones mad cause he can't own a gun. look at your name boy, you ain't murdering shit. you're just a wannabe tough fag trolling around.

  • STI makes a 9mm very accurate and approved for ipsc affordable also

  • Very helpful tips, in the police academy now and this video alone with some practice is improving my scores!!

  • when point both thumbs towards target and have them that high on the slide how are you supposed to avoid interfering with the slide release...anyone have any insight???

  • kya shooting ha yar..........!

  • Hot damn, and very helpful. Some concepts explained well here with reasoning behind them.

  • holy moly

  • Thanks for the tip(finger tip) explainations of trigger control-that TRULY explains the concept of "pushing" rather than squeezing the trigger. It's brought groups down to 1.5 moa at 100 yards at bench and 2 1/2 offhand with my 7 1/2 inch SBH offhand. Much appreciated!

  • Is that a 9mm or a .45?

  • @Strikerz0r

    .45 ACP =P

  • @Strikerz0r

At least I think so, never seen a 1911 use 9mm but I could be wrong.

  • @Rambo1234999 There are some out there but not a lot. 9mm 1911's I mean.

  • @MovieTheaterHead

Just about every single 1911 manufacturer makes a model in 9mm.

  • @SimplyBelieve34 Really? I've only seen Colt and Para make them.

  • @MovieTheaterHead Springfield Amory makes the 1911's in 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP 10MM auto, maybe .38 super not sure. Also lots of other companies do make 1911 in the calibers listed.

  • @Strikerz0r its a .45 ACP single stack.

  • What's up with these instructors using cheat codes?!

  • his wife is a female gun

  • Don't let the government take your guns, from Britain.

  • @stepheng1483 That was the greatest thing I've ever read. Thank you.

  • @stepheng1483 We are trying not to, but it's a constant battle. The latest Supreme Court Ruling in Heller was a landmark decision for gun rights, the 2nd amendment and the Bill of Rights". However, socialist abound in this country and try to enforce what they believe is good for us lowly law abiding citizens. They just don't trust citizens to be free and make their own decisions.

  • @MrBigden37 They want you unarmed so you are defenceless so they can do what they want, it's a tactic straight from The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

  • @stepheng1483 thats why we have rednecks........=]

  • trigger control and sight picture and sight alignment are the only 2 things that really matters when shooting. all this other stuff is garbage. the military knows what its doing. this guy is just trying to sell his class by knocking them

  • @joeratti "trigger control and sight picture and sight alignment" that's 3 things not 2. I'd suspect that an international champion knows quite a lot more about shooting than you do. Considering you can't even count.

  • @joeratti

I took a class at Frontsight, and indeed they teach the 3 points you mention, that is tip of the iceberg. There is ssooooo much more to learn. I took the course with career military personal also. Many of them reported they learned more in a 4 day course they had in the military. Check out their site and see what i'm talking about.

  • 0:32 EEkkk! Todd is the master but he puts his hand right in front of the shooter's muzzle. Pistol is loaded but at least his finger was off the trigger.

  • never be in the police when he goes mad

  • he has a mod

  • He could beat chuck norris in a... *SLAM* WHAT? CHUCK I WAS JUST KIDDING. COME ON! AAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

  • @muttatdesk

    hahahahaha

i was JUST about to type "hes like the chuck norris of the 1911"

    hahahaha LMFAO @ YOUR COMMENT

  • Todd Jarret uses aimbot!

  • love the sound of bullets hitting metals just like cashing in in slot machines, more coins baby lol.

  • Damn. He makes .45s look like .22s.

  • Todd Jarrett is one smart man. He has done all of the thinking and scientific studies for the students. He is just simply passing on proven techniques to allow shooters to progress into great, accurate shooters. Good Vid. Thanks for posting.

  • 72 persons are disabled.

He tells you to hold your gun with both your hands, but those guys only have 1 hand.

  • Good tips for a first time shooter

  • pfft hacks...

  • IxdannydxI100...... (OR) HE SLEEPS WITH A GUN UNDER HIS PILLOW

  • @argenix6756 I think he intended to say it the way he did.

  • Meet El Presidente

  • he's obviously an excellent shooter, but not the best teacher... when he talks he kinda sounds retarted. that dude he was instructing was like- ???

  • aimbotter ...

  • @semisane8 get outa video games man. thats whats wrong with the world right there. people cant make the difference. people think "hey i can shoot a guy and he will just respawn."

  • I like the full-autos at 2:44. :P

  • geeeeeeeeeeeeez

  • why isn't he in the military?

  • This guy is so good it's unreal

  • beginning footage was sped up

  • @dammitpeterZE

nope, he progressively speed up his shooting

  • @GeneralUser1926 no what i mean is he turned around too fast to be human movements

  • @dammitpeterZE

    haha o gotcha :)
