hey im just wondering but if you can answer this for me what would one need to know to get into a band like this like im in JROTC and plan to join the military im just wondering like scales and so forth

Ok to make it straight. A fourth valve just replaces the first and third valve when you press it. One and three make a C or F and the fourth still does C and F. Theres nothing really special about it.

@LateNightSnack1 Other than the fact, it plays in tune a little better, especially when going into a lower register

@LateNightSnack1 It's also used to have a more in tune B natural with 2nd and 4th valve.

@liondoncefreak123 Most tubas have three valves but more expensive tubas can have four valves. The fourth valve allows for more in-tune pedal tones.
