This song was first released on the 1994 CD "The Downward Spiral". If you havent heard this version of Hurt or this CD then I would encourage to do so. If you (or anyone else) ever has a question about music (or anything) else please remember Wikipedia is your friend. Yet, to really know would be to somehow get the liner notes and check for yourself.

First of all, this is the original Nazareth version, of the 1960 Everly Brothers hit, which was written by Boudleaux Bryant. Secondly, if there is an Aerosmith cover of this song, then I can guarantee you, that it sounds like an Aerosmith song. Aerosmith does not do exact cover songs. They do Aerosmith versions and big surprise, they sound exactly like Aerosmith!

It was Roy Orbison's song and no one did it like him.Roy Orbison covered "Love Hurts" in 1961 and issued it as the B-side to "Running Scared" Aerosmith comes the closest to doing it justice. Nazereth's version was a travesty IMO and I heard Roy do it live.

The Everly Brothers did it but not like Roy Orbison or even Aerosmith.
