  • Best Ending

  • hes giggidy like a school boy lol

  • What is the song when Esher goes mad with power?

  • Ti'ana's grave was actually put on Myst in realMyst, so this is not the first appearance of the stone.

  • And that pun was GLORIOUS!

  • Paragon interrupt - Watson punch!

Renegade interrupt - Stab the bastard!

  • at 4:48 they could've made a good reference : "it is mine...my PRECIOUSSS !"

  • It's too late. I've fallen in love with Esher.

(Sorry, I just wanted to see your reaction.)

  • Here's something interesting: What happens if you don't even pick up the tablet after it's unlocked, but go straight to Myst? Is the book still locked at that point?

  • @frznbxy I believe Esher gives you a similar rant as in the "bad" ending (video before this) but mentions nothing of you giving it to Yeesha.

  • @Zoney1 Yeah, it was something like that. Somebody actually rigged that scene so that it would zoom out at the end, but if you play normally, it simply leaves you stranded like in the Yeesha ending, after a similar Esher nagging.

  • whit that sharp object, Esher looks like doing voodoo to the pedestal

  • I think it's funny how the game developers made the Player look like a derp by just having Him stand there when He could have probably done something to Esher during the rambling.

  • the grave is in realmyst but with blue flowers around it just like the flowers around atruses mothers grave in the book.

  • Esher says: "A MYST opportunity" which means "A 'missed' opportunity".

Plus, this is just a thought: Maybe Gehn was going to use the tablet to complete his evil plan.

  • Remember this kids, do not take candy from old men whit vans. And do not give tablets whit power to control reality to unstable men.

  • @WriterOfMadness "And do not give tablets whit power to control reality to unstable men."

lol the tablet doesn't give that kind of omnipotence, or anything near it

for starters, even with the tablet, Esher still can't link on his own (he needs the shoulder thing), whereas Yeesha can. so the tablet doesn't even grant that

also the tablet doesn't give the ability to create ages either (apparently) since the bahro do not possess that ability (that is a d'ni thing, not bahro)

  • @schwarzfalk Huh, I thought the teachings of the art was created by the Bahro. And the D'ni learned it from them. And the tablet is the very being of the Bahro... So i were wrong?

  • @WriterOfMadness I dunno...throughout the series it is implied that writing ages is a d'ni thing (but only for a few d'ni like Atrus), and that the bahro's main ability is to *teleport* at will between ages, not create them

as for the tablet, who made it then? it couldn't be the d'ni, so it would've had to be a race even more powerful than the bahro...in fact it's never explained how they got enslaved in the 1st place. yet another plot hole :/

  • @schwarzfalk Altought not know creates space for your own imagenation. And not knowing maybe is a good thing? I enjoy not knowing, makes it more intresting :)

  • Something occurred to me.

If the Tablet is still solid for you, then what's stopping the Stranger from picking it up and chucking it into the ocean?

Even with the ability to link at will, Esher would most likely never find it again.

  • @QUANTUMJOKER

It may not be still solid.. but I wonder how deep that pedestal goes into the floor? If the traveler still has time he could do some damage.

  • Did Esher just touch the wrong shoulder while linking away?

I may have spotted a continuity error in the Myst animation.

  • No, he touched his right shoulder, as usual. No error. :B

  • You're right about the pun after 5:41 - it would take a truly evil person to inflict such a thing on another.

  • All of a sudden selling it on eBay doesn't seem like such a bad idea.

  • Seems like Esher would be at least a little more gracious for helping him out.

  • I wondered why you didn't point out Ti'ana's grave in the first bad ending ;-)

  • Esher is such a truly unpleasant character throughout the course of the game one wonders if anyone—especially a Myst afficianado—would be inclined to give it to him voluntarily for any other reason than to see what would happen when you give it to him.
