This is great! I love it! It really is a great summery of her life. I was watching BBC's Monarchy series, and when they mentioned Henry (her Henry) they did not mention her, so I wanted more info-so thanks!
Whatever else Eleanor of Aquitaine may have been, she was both a wife and a mother of kings. Did she possess the fabled beauty of Helen of Troy to capture the hearts of two kings? Nope. (Though she was, by no means ugly). What she possessed was some of the best land in France, and a talent for adapting to the world around her. She is well worth studying as she was, without question, the most powerful and independently wealthy (RARE) woman of her time! What a superb introduction to her!
Well she wasn't that happy with Henry, she tried to overthrow him later in life, but wish i found this earlier. I did a protect on her last year, she's very awesome.
@horsestar818 Um, guess you didn't listen to the entire song, as the "No sons" part was with her first failed marriage to Louis...we mention her sons with Henry later.
Wasn't the Louis she was married to originally the one who became a saint? (He would have to have had the patience of a saint to put up with her! :) )
I like these clever videos. Eleanor asked for a divorce from Louis after she had met Henry. He resisted because he loved her. So, when she finally got an annulment from Louis she was actually very happy.
@artimishunter1999 yes two. John and... Edward maybe? Not sure the about the 3rd.

@budsterman5 Eleanor had 5 sons with King Henry II:
William IX, Count of Poitiers - who died at the young age of 3
Henry the Young King - He was a junior king, kind of like an apprentice to Henry II but died before he could step up to the throne
King Richard I - Took up the throne after the two Henrys death
Geoffrey II, Duke of Brittany - Died during Richards reign only having a daughter
Prince John - Known for his incompetent rule. Hes the bad guy in the Robin Hood stories

Didn't Eleanor have more sons than just Richard? Amazing job!

Thank you so much for these videos. They're the reason I'm passing AP World History.

If you haven't created a music video for this person already, I think 'Richard the Lionheart' would be a great idea.

Eleanor of Aqiutaine was awesome! She was an intelligent woman way ahead of her time! And she was quite cunning!

@DOSBoxMom:
You're thinking about St. Louis IX, who died in 1270. Eleanor was married to Louis VII, who led the Second Crusade in 1147.

This is computer generated snow, right?
Please tell me it does not snow in Honolulu!
Is this the same place as in your other video (Shakespeare) ?
Another haunting song, sung hauntingly. (no ghosts?!)

Cute, although she met Henry before she asked for the divorce from Louis. They married without Louis' permission.

Wonder if royalty thought about living "happily ever after" a thousand years ago. Or if they felt living until 35 was an accomplishment.

I would have thought you would have used Eleanor Rigby.
I guess that would have been to obvious.
Well done.
