  • beatles are overrated, they had some great songs but not all of them were that good

  • splendid

  • listen to the version of this on the live in paris reunion. it'll kill you

  • by the way ther would be no bealtes if there was no elvis

  • the edgy rockabilly baton picked up by the fall

  • Why would anybody go to a VU video to bash some great under appreciated old school diddy when you can go to a sell out creed or nickelback video and raise cain there? Please..do that instead!?!

  • @93MickyD1 no offense to the beatles. love them. But they are excrutiatingly depressing too. THeir Rain song for example. THey just make it sound and feel sweeter on the surface. Believe me..that song is depressing underneath the initial ear orgasm and on down into its raw core. If you dont like V underground your being an obtuse dick. they are definately worthwhile. I guess that D is for Dick? Douche? what? lol

  • if likin the VU makes me a hipster then so be it. If likin classical makes me a pompouso. So be it. If listen to old blues makes me a olefoggie. OleFoggie me up baby! I guess im a pompous olefoggie hipster? haha. some people and the stories they tell huh.

  • hipster?? what is hipster but a word. fuck off with that hipster shit

  • @93MickyD1

and you're not afraid to admit that? Thats great!

  • @93MickyD1 so what brings you here dickhead?

  • @MrPeguin666

"they slowly transition from radio-friendly to more avant-garde music"?!? what the fuck are you talking about?

Why don't you give the Banana Album one more listen?

  • @tyvegutt I'm sorry, I worded it a little wrong. I meant that the album itself transitions. Sunday Morning is probably their popiest song, next to Sweet Jane. And then it ends with European Son

  • @93MickyD1 just because they're not popular doesn't mean that they're for hipsters you idiot. Shut up, I bet you listen to Nickelback.

  • the velvet underground are great, the beatles are great. end of disscusion

  • why are you talking about the beatles this is a VU song. the beatles are a fucking great band as are VU. you're all gay

  • this started so much better music than the beatles have started. the beatles weren't really "out there"; they were relatively bland and cookie-cutter - and it's ridiculous that they have become so ubiquitous in the music discussion forum. they aren't that great...use your ears...it's really basic, boring, and a ton of other bands were doing better shit (exhibit A: press play)

  • @TengoBoner you're nuts listen to revolver or rubber soul or meet the beatles they sold more units than any group duo or solo artist that says something

  • The Beatles and The Velvets are my two favorite bands. I think of them as black and white and both are omnipresent despite their different styles. They're the best and most influential bands in popular music, no reason to differentiate when both are perfect.

  • the velvets could lay down a groove like none other simple as that...

  • i was always having this strange impression that this is the first ever grunge song - written more than 20 years before the birth of the genre:)

  • @janochanotariusz interesting, i 've always thought that this is very similar to sonic youth in the late 80's. Obviously they were a huge influence, I totally agree to what you're saying

  • in my opion, the beatles were the biggest and best thing to ever in happen music.

but the velvets are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good too.

  • in my opinion the most infuential bands are 1-the velvets 2- the pixies and 3-the beatles. i think the velvets are on a level of their own though

  • Sort of. I think The Beatles were the only other modern groupe using violins in their music at the time. They were both early art rock. I do agree that they're AT LEAST as good,.. posibly even better.

  • @Skulldini i like the beatles but the only difference is that unlike the velvets the beatles couldnt play shit so they hired (or george martin hired) standard violin session players to pull if off PLUS the velvets made it sound like something different and cool

  • @theachtungtree you are a piece of elitist shit sir!!!

  • @elvispresley718 haha...i like the velvets better than the beatles and you're like "you elitist" haha...fucking joke, go and listen to Elvis or whatever...ew

  • @theachtungtree elvis was an innovator just like the beatles and the velvets you're an idiot!

  • @elvispresley718 ok ok...whatever...like if Elvis invented rock and roll..whatever you say "sir" and why am i an elitist? may i ask? cause i prefer the velvets over the beatles? it's a matter of taste and opinion...plus people STOP with "you sir...you sir..", fucking morons without identity

  • @theachtungtree elvis was an innovator you seem to have a hard time accepting that

  • @elvispresley718 ANSWER my question...

  • @theachtungtree yer an elitist because you made fun of elvis someone from tenessee not aon yer sme itellectual level?

  • @elvispresley718 haha...fuck Elvis, Berry and others showed HIM how rock and roll should be played...

  • @theachtungtree yeah that's why lennon dylan and countless others were elvis fans he was an innovator get over it listen to the sun sessions

  • @elvispresley718 meh...put that album and chuck's material side by side to them and they'll let ya know ;)

  • @theachtungtree they're both great but elvis was a better singer hellooooo

  • @elvispresley718 maybe....maybe not, depends on somebody's taste...i like dylan better than Van Morrison as a singer sometimes...yeh, i know, sounds silly. merry christmas btw

  • This band are well underrated!!

  • mmm sounds a little bit like olé, from olé coltrane. anyway this rocks!!!

  • This sounds like something The Beatles would do. But the Velvets are so much better in my opinion.

  • @cubyman23 yeah...they are better

  • @cubyman23 so much more ahead of their time than the beatles were.

  • @LeSexisme

you can cut the tension with a knife

  • @LeSexisme how were they ahead of their time, i dont here this style today

  • @cubyman23 Obviously. I never got what people see in The Beatles...

  • @videosevennine dolt!

  • @videosevennine i guess you dont' have an ear for music

  • @cubyman23

I used to think that The Beatles were the best band ever. Then I heard The Velvet Underground. There is no comparison; VU just crushes the supposed "Fab Four" into pieces.

I guess as a little kid, I was pretty alienated when it came to music. The only bands I was truly aware of were The Beatles and The Dismemberment Plan. Only recently has my brother been showing me a lot more music, and I've learned that there is so much more out there. I still have yet to find every little gem. :)

  • @cubyman23 what did u say?

  • @elvispresley718 dolt!
