I like Katatonia best when they are not too complicated, that means of course that I think they were at their peak with Brave Murder Day and Discouraged Ones. Gotta respect them for wanting to explore new terrains, but imo there is much more feeling and nerve in a song like Quiet World than most or their more recent stuff. A classic!

This isn't on my copy of Discouraged Ones. This must have been added on a later reissue or another countries release.

This is ace, but it's more like a shoegaze song. And that little break at the end of the first verse sounds very reminiscent of the opening riff at the start of the verses of "Right into the Bliss" from Tonight's Decision.

This must have originally been an outtake from the studio sessions for this album.

This track was originally released on the 'Saw You Drown' EP in 1998 and later made it to the 'Discouraged Ones' full length album in 1999. It was even included on the 'Brave Yester Days' compilation that was released in 2004... Where have you been? ;)

Anders nystorm was the one who wrote this song.he decide that it would be better to put it in the Saw you Drown (ep).he did say why.however katatonia put some amazing songs in eps andnot albums(Dissolving bonds-my twin ep-Sulfur-teargas ep-quiet worl-saw you drowne.t.c.) and it actually is very strange
