I used the standard camera roll bar mount that Gopro sells. The trick I've found is using a screw driver to tighten the clamps instead of using the thumb screws.
I also don't use any kind of extension on the mounts. I can get away with it because the down angle of the tube on the chassis.

What mount did you use with your Hero? You Video is much smoother/more clear than other Hero Wides on youtube.
