  • This Video is creepy. lol......

  • When I saw the title, I was like: "WHAT water animation sequence?" Really.

  • MX vs. ATV Reflex's water is pretty interactive and real.

  • The only time I ever felt in danger from the water. Pity it kinda stops flooding once it gets to waist-level.

  • good work, i like it. if you are interested in more motion pictures i did recently a animation with a lot of ink which pour down skycrapers. i would appreciate if you watch this on my channel or watch for " weltgang "

    best wishes

  • cryostasis is better

  • i love how whenever someone has a wrench, they have this uncontrollable need to smack it against their other hand like a mobster every 3 seconds

  • I don't know how cod5 got into this but, the only reason why I would buy any cod is for zombies. Even when mw2 came out I was hoping for yeti hunting or aliens, but NO. Fucking special ops. Ya there special alrite. In a short bus riding windows licking way. But bioshock. good game but I suck at it.

  • @dadio46 COD even the Nazi Zombie thing sucks almost completely what we need is someone to make a MOD for COD WaW that will bring people back to it.

  • @dadio46 Ahaha short bus riding window licking way

  • I wish the game had more such a this sequences, cause it looks great.

  • the Game developers must love you.. noticing all they're hard work in all.. I do the same, :)

  • when i first saw this game the water blew me away! now i have crysis and other games though- they anint so great!

  • Yay Bioshock!

  • HI, Im getting a new PC for gameing. If I get the 64 bit, Im I going to have a problem playing any new games? Such as Modran warfare 2, Just cause 2, far Cry 2 etc. This is what Im buying..Intel i7 980x overclocked to 4.2 6Gb Kingston HyperX (2) Graphic card ATI Radeon HD 5970 PCI-E 16X 2GB GDDR5 Video Card. Please let me know thanx.

  • @uphill248 far cry might have some problems but besides that all is good.

  • @uphill248

    Modran warfare? gameing?

Are you really old enough for these games; you can't even spell the simplest of Words

  • @uphill248 64 bit will just run games better.

  • @uphill248 Don't even buy a Modern Warfare 2 for PC it sucks Donkey Balls the last good PC game was Starcraft II or if that's not your thing try COD: WaW or Black Ops although personally i hate black ops isn't as good as COD 5 nothing can be.

  • @h0lyh4ck3r COD 5 hasnt been made. all games after cod 4 are just pieces of shit to make them more money.

  • @cityslicker202 Very good point actually, your right. So in if my opinion states that Starcraft II was the last good PC game then what's your opinion i'm interested in hearing it.

  • @h0lyh4ck3r my opinion is cod has gone down the shitter ever since it was released to consoles. i own a ps3, because its fun to play with friends. but every good classic pc game they release to consoles turns to shit. Call of duty 1 united offense was my favorite game back in the day.

  • people some day DREAMED that they will be actual water phsics in games some day, instead of animations and scripted sequences, i mean c'mon, that will be so cool, i mean imagine this except it can actually move to certian places without something giving it a signal(like a scene or code) telling it what to do. people are still working on that,

  • there is. type in nvidia fluid demo it is real time and unbelievably amazing

  • If you want to see better water physics , go search for the game "Hydrophobia".

  • @whatayaDO543 have you played gears of war 2? epics URE3 mastered that

  • @iSolitaryyy well...... the cube of meat is pretty cool... but no ACTUAL water phsics, just animations and effects done by usual coding or scene

  • That's pre-rendered water.

  • Yes, you are Right on that one, but other will object, none the less if you actually investigate how Bio Shock was made, yup, that's prerendered...

  • it is not interactive (cant change the flow of the water) if that is what you mean but this is what it looks like in game on my PC, now interactive 3D water... that is a different story, not many games have had 3D interactive water, wetrix on the N64 is one of them though :P

  • Exactly.

  • Insane!

  • So is your Youtube Channel.

  • wow

  • Are you sure this is not pre-rendered water? the video should have had the character hit an object with the wrench.

  • he hits his hand like the engineer in tf2 thats all

  • thats not even closely related to what i was talking about

  • I meant that he should hit an object into the water to see if it is dynamic, but of course, it's not, still looks awesome though

  • Comment removed

  • maybe he already hit the splicer

  • Ok I looked up hydrophobia and I was honestly impressed. I think both games simulate water but the level hydrophobia was at was something i've never seen before. If they can optimize it to be runnable on an average cpu set up then i'm impressed. When is it supposed to be out?

  • Reading over some of the comments, and shows how many people don't read before commenting. No where in the title, or author comments, does it claim that this is a physics simulation based water effect. It clearly states that this is an animation! Good job at the people pointing out that this is not physics.

  • To bad it NEVER HAPPENED.

  • Your a special kind of person.

  • Thanks :D

  • @IzzoSkizzy

It did happen in the real game you just have to wait a little :)

  • wow very nice!

  • You stand corrected. You all do. Bioshock is run on the Unreal Engine 3 an engine with Nvidia PhysX integrated in it,PhysX has very good water physics. please take the time to view some PhysX videos you can see a collaboration between the two,.

  • No, Im not PhysX is integrated in the Unreal Engine 3, The engine BioShock is run on, Why would 2K Marin bother creating an water animation were you have a technically and mathematically correct physics middleware right infront of you!?!

  • Those aren't physics, it's animation, REALLY REALLY good animation but still only animation

  • You are correct. There are no realtime fluid simulations in this vid.

  • have you played bioshock its real time physics going on the as you move threw the water it reacts to you, if you hit the water it splash and ripples, you throw somthing at it, it reacts,

  • Yes I have played BioShock, I can say for a fact that like I said before it's all a set of animations, you touch the water, the animation is triggered to look like you just stepped in water, but that's all it is, animation, like I said before, REALLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY fucking good animation

  • And that is all animation triggered to do that >.> If it was simulation water I doubt it would run really well on consoles.

  • there is no game in existence yet that uses real-time water physics. however, there is one in development called "hydrophobia"

  • Unreal engine 3, learn it.

  • unreal engine 3 does not use water physics, it has a dynamic fluid surface. water physics is when evey particle of water is dynamic and moves around and acts just like the real thing. learn it.

  • yes there is, a pc shooter, i forgot the name. pretty new and it has real time water. looks quite stunning.

  • youre probably thinking about crysis, and no, it isnt real time water physics.

  • lol

some russian game. they have water flowing in the levels, influenced by the player.

  • as far as i know, there is no game released to the public yet that has water physics. if you can find out the name of that game, please get back to me. i'd like to know what you're talking about.

  • The game he is reffering to is Crysostasis. Look it up. he's right it has real time water physics.

  • thanks man, i couldnt find it without the name.

  • i looked it up, and it isnt actual water physics. look up hydrophobia, thats what water physics really is. in hydrophobia, entire bodies of water are simulated, instead of just small streams/puddles.

  • dude... physics are physics, size doesnt matter. also hydrophobia surely doesnt show the amount of detail cryostasis does. and before you try to find something against that please wait for game release, and remember i said: i told you so.

  • oh my god you are stupid. cryostasis doesnt have water physics. it has physics, but it isnt water physics. in hydrophobia, the water acts just like the real thing, it actually physically renders IN REAL TIME, currents, whirlpools, waves, etc., the way they happen in real life.

  • so you didnt even know about cryostasis just days ago, hydrophobia isnt close to release and still you wanna tell me the truth about those games?

watching some videos on here could help you boost your knowledge about the cryo and concerning hydro:

its just another ps3 game! look at killzone2, it looks great and the ragdoll/animation blending character physics are amazing, BUT it doesnt bring anything i wouldnt have expected. the ps3 is a special computer from 2006. deal with it.

  • where did ps3 come from in this? i dont even like PS3. im a pc gamer, hydrophobia is for PC too smartass

  • wetrix on n64 did, obviously did not "look" amazing but it reacted to what you did realy well, waverace does also, both very old games ;)

  • this is just too sweet. and realistic.

  • Have you even taken physics OR played the game? it's like basic fucking physics man, read some books. Made me really angry lol.

  • Slammin the hammer.

  • basic physics yes but to get it to look good in game is another story

  • @WheelchairPerson If it's so physics, why is it flowing UPWARD? FOOOOOOO

  • The interaction between fire and water, petrol, in-animate and animated obects, people weaving through water, catching fire, falling into water, being thrown into water, being shot through water, being thrown while on fire then into water, the relationship between the player, the NPC's and their surroundings was the key element to making this work, it ALL reacts differently depending on the dozens of factors that irrational have obviously taken into account and delivered on, fathom that please.

  • Each water particle knocking into one another, rolling over the grooves in the tiles, weaving through the rocks, reflecting light differently as it changes colour, the water absorbing more of the colour red because of its longer wavelength, sudden rushes of stronger cycles forcing themselves against weaker ones forming small cyclones and the completely articulate rhythm change as water from higher up falls onto mobile water is all down to the advanced physics system created by irrational.

  • Physics applies to nearly everything, the engine in this game is based off of real life. There are 3 atoms in every particle of water, physics applies to atoms so you what you are looking at is ONLY physics.

  • loL!! you make me laugh! its not physics!!! its like animated water

  • loL! Baned.

  • @sweet16fan You spelled "banned" wrong, dumbass.

  • @ReacticFlyer water doesn't move without physics y'dumbass

  • how is this phisics, its just watere rolling across the floor, it looks realistic but there is no phsics to it :p

  • How is that english?

  • huh, that dident have to do with anything..

  • even cod waw had water physics. on Makin you chuck a nad ein the water and a little explosion of water occurs

  • this games all about water and there arent any water physics =[

  • looks better on ps3. and yes bio shock is on ps3

  • shut up, consoles suck, buy a PC

  • sounds like someone is on their period

  • console kid

  • and proud of it. how ever i do have burnout paradise for the ps3 and pc

  • Comment removed

  • Listen to Paumonsu

  • stfu fanboy

  • looks just the same

  • yeah because it uses 90% of the xboxes power and only 20% of the ps3's power

  • Are you just pulling numbers out of your ass? I game on PC and I still think you're a fucking retard.

  • seriosuly now darthxephron, those numbers are obviously a logical extreme to satisfy uour "fanboyanism". I own a ps3 and have many times defended it, but really, its old and not really powerful :l no really, its not, look at the framerate in gta4, average of 28fps. thats not very powerful, let alone to the extent at which it can run bbioshock using 20% power. i understand a view on the 1080p 60fps standpoint, but even then, still not that powerful, just a nice gaming machine. but not powerful.

  • dude the system is fucking 2 years old dumfuck. thats not old at all

  • yes lets call people dumbfucks lol over a damn machine that u never had anything to do with....u didnt help create it u just bought it to sit at home all day and become a fat fuck that stays in his moms basement bedroom all day....stop fucking DEFENDING A DAMN MACHINE DUDE lol that makes u look real fucking mature

  • we can double the power of technology an estimated once every 18 months. If it's more than a year and a half old, it IS outdated.

  • i lol'd

  • It's not realtime, if it was real time, you would have been lagging like a whore.

  • YES IT IS REALTIME, but it's animations.

  • omg you have no idea whats the diffrence between real time and animations................... geeze...... your the most stupid person ive ever seen

  • the water flowing in: a model with a transparent texture that visually deforms the floor underneath it by using shaders, making it look like water. this isnt killing your computer at all.

the water rinning is also just textures.

i dont get why you said this wasnt real time, it ran in real time in both my computer and my pc. no lag at all.

    you must be confused.

  • you rly dont know what i mean......... you know what physics are right? and the water didn't move in real time because it was animated...... real time means there where physics involved........ the flow in the animation is never changing its always the same...... if you have water in realtime then it would change paterns everytime you play it...... you get it now?

the scene you just see is animated ..... just like left 4 dead you can blow up a gas station..... animated too and not real time.

  • Real time means that it's not pre-rendered, it doesnt have anything to do with fluid physics.

for example, my mass physics videos are not in real time, that just means that i had serious framerate issues while recording, but i made it look like there was no lag at all.

i know what fluid physics are, and the water still moved in real time even tho it wasnt simulated, particle-based water.

  • That is not real time water physics, that is just a set piece animation.

  • Yeah I think this is mostly pre-animated.

  • While processing water may currently take a super computer to render realistically, think back to how polygons and textures were handled before. I'm sure that within the next decade someone will find a new method to cheaply recreate realistic water.

  • farcry,trees sway,grass moves in real time

  • ya but the water graphics in farcry2 are crappy. they dont interact and no matter what the water is always flat. but besides that its a good game

  • Water, the only element mankind can not control, not even in video games...

  • yet we need it to survive.

You could say that we are its bitch

  • bioshock really needs a crowbar ^^

  • That's the most awesome real-time water I've seen.

  • dude it´s scripted

  • TRUE!!

    theres no physics in there

  • LoL that's not physics, but Bioshock does have impressive water effects.

  • that is scripted

  • It's an animation. And if you look closely, you can see that it is just two textures passing over each other, that's how the Bioshock water is.

  • Bioshock is one awesome game.

But it doesnt have realtime water physics.

Thats just one effect they made to simulate realtime water physics.

  • the water physics in bioshock are awesome!

  • the only thing that dissapointed me with that game. when you get in the water, a pixialted splash move around you, i was hoping for some awesome realistic water simulations like in halo 3, but alas, only pixils...

  • I know what u mean, try it on DX10 mode, looks much better

  • That's just an animation really. But a very nice one at that.

  • Great game. Probably my favorite.

  • WOW! amazing water!! dude thats cool. but can it be like... animation in the game? or is it really physics?

  • Its one animation, physics would be all to laggy.

Maybe in ten years and/or bioshock 3

  • Ten years wtf more like 1 or 2 years

  • No.

    Just no.

  • Really man ? Have you seen the improvement in the last 5 years ?

  • Proably, at least 5 years.

Water physics are actually already available, but there are like NO computer able to handle it.

Just imagine all the particles that would be spread if the main character would drop a glass of water on the floor.

Then imagine a scene with THIS amount of water!

Proably not in ten years, but maybe in 5.

  • Yeah you´re probably right

  • I disagree, they will probably have physics water pretty soon in games, but it will suck, it will be very low detailed.

  • No, search for water physics on youtube, and you can find some, and those are high detailed.

But no computer could ever handle that amount of particles.

Maybe it will suck asshole and work, but no real game would want shitty physics? They will proably just wait until its good, in about 5 years.

  • SANTARII- We are about 5 to 7 years away from having true water which obeys the law of physics as a whole. For a computer to render even just a puddle let alone an ocean,in real time would take several Intel QX9850's running at 3.6GHZ, and even then it wouldnt be true to "life" water emulation. A body of water is always moving and crashing- which is impossible for our "desktop" gen technology to render right now.

  • thats when the ps3 with 8cellcore processors come in. lol

  • The ps3 and its 8 cores is truly impressive and is head and shoulders over the competition in processing power, when compared to a modern day gaming grade CPU and GPU's- its actually quite slow to be honest. In our graphics cards alone are coming with 800 stream processing cores paired with 2 fully capable and realized gpu die's at 55nm which by itself has more processing power than every console every created including the 360 and the PS3 and the shitty Wii combined. (Google it its a fact).

  • Hey blaa94- in the past few years, weve been making huge leaps in graphical fidelity and realism. Physics are just now becoming mainstream in our video games to a point where grass sways and trees move with the "wind". It will be another few years until we truly have the raw processing power to render liquid in real time realistically, by that time, graphics will have gotten so real that we can focus on other things like physics emulation etc.

  • man i cant wait to get a pimped up machine to play this sucka

  • lol it's not actual "physics" it's animation pal

  • hes right. fyi...

  • Wow it is so realistic

  • that loks real

  • Most of the game is of course water so they even hired a water artist! It's damn near realistic!

  • that never happens in bioshock it always soemhowe flows away.. it whould have been great if it was really a part of the game

  • it makes me thirsty

  • just got new comp with a 1 gig nvidia 9800gt graphics card runs bioshock max with like 80-100 fps :)

BIOSHOCK FTW BEST GAME EVER !!!

  • I don't see any physics.. I see a flat plane expanding. And I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying Bioshock comes as close to waster physics as mario.

  • Yeah man..you're right. to the dumbassees that gave him -2, you are just what i said. dumbasses

  • Sorry for double

Can you walk with that guy too?

I would pay millions to make games like that!

  • Photorealistic :0

  • it is scripteed no real physic rendering

  • Even if they aren't real-time.

  • The water effects in this game are stunning.

  • Ok, basically the texture used for water is underneath the ground collision for the character to stand on. Than as a single plane animation it rises from underneathe to above the ground to give off a filling effect. There ya go.

  • I think that's animated lol

  • it may be scripted but its damn beautiful. its got the looks right, but adding in physics to it might have just been too much work.

  • get the PC version, its got fluid dynamics in DX 10

  • its just a simple vertex fil rate , nothing special , the basis of that engine has been out for years

  • Its not real fluid dynamics, e.g. you cant splash it around!

  • indeed , it fills the vertex grid

  • in DX 10, you actually can splash around

  • that uses particles to do that ? like in them nvidia tech demostration videos

  • The art of smoke and mirrors. Only getting better.

  • lol

  • BLIME. that look's almost reel.

  • There are no water physics.
