  • ashwix, how heavy is the stone lock? I'm trying to substitute using kettlebells and I just want to start with a similar weight. looks relatively light--maybe 15-20 lbs?

  • What's that exercise tool called? Thanks

  • @doggbrown1

    Stone lock :)

  • My great great grandfather used to be one of martial officials working for loyal army in Beijing during Qing Dynasty. As a tradition of Manchu, practicing Shuaijiao is part of mandated exercise along their growth. I also trained Shuaijiao in Beihai physical training school in Beihai park and Shichahai amateur physical training school when I was very little. I am very curious about where in Beijing you are training in the video? Is it in a private training school or a government owned facility?

  • ooooo i did that exercise once and it killed that guy must be really strong...maybe differrent tho cuz i stood on 2 chairs n threw it straight up wit out tha spin n then caught it wit other hand n so on n so on

  • Seemed ridiculous at first, but as I watched other clips, I started to think that these exercises were quite functional. I can't really decide until I see a combat version or this style against perhaps a western style.

  • hi odinmage! let me know what you want to see and ill try to put upload it :-) we practice Shuaijiao and BJJ here in Beijing and are focused on what works too. Perhaps a better way to show these to the world is empty hand then with apparatus, and then with a person....what do you think? :-)

  • Is this the beijing form of shuai jiao?

  • ehm..
