Lovely and o' so talented...we may never see class like this again...certainly not in our own time. It would take a major cosmic shift to ever relive the spirit of those golden years!
Aside from their usual high standard of performance, the Sisters look so lovely here--absolutely flawless gowns, perfectly tailored and timeless style!
These beautiful ladies were among my first introduction to music in the mid forties and They still move me with their matchless harmonies and voices... They are icons in the field of harmony singing there will only ever be one group of ladies of music like the Andrew sisters.. Awesome singing.and forever missed.
I was born in 1942 and can remember back to the age of two, so I can recall this era somewhat. I envy those born earlier who recollect all of it. I was nuts about the Andrews Sisters as a kid, and still am. I'm so glad there are many who do as well.
This clip was taken down from You Tube awhile back, and it's so great to see it again. Although they were known for their louder, more swinging music, I love when they did their rare early ballads like this. You can really hear each individual voice and appreciate what wonderful voices they all had. Listen to the warmth in Laverne's voice, it really anchors the whole sound. Thanks for posting, and
It's a multi-generation global treat & thrill to see these 3 gorgeous, gifted sisters perform in their prime. They were a entertainment phenomenon that connected solidly with people worldwide, particularly those unfortunate souls in Britian that Hitler's forces were relentlessly trying to murder.
For someone to take the time to share an entertainment treasure like this with a global audience makes visiting YouTube an extreme pleasure & I salute you...
very classy! you don't this type of class any more in today's music. I wish this type of class would come back.

I too absolutely love the '40s! Sometimes I think I lived in that era before. I collect a lot of '40s music and books. Love the Andrews sisters!
