  • im in a dream thats within a dream in another dream in that dream..... or this film could go die. absolute shite, anyone who doesn't like it aparently doesn't understand the plot. furthermore that is also shite. the film is boring but is weird so people pretend to like it, i watched the expendables 4 or 5 times on dvd because its something fun and explosive to watch i doubt many people would genuinely want to watch this film that many times, its not relaxing enough and you have to think

  • Thank you for coming back.

I kinda don't blame you, not alot of good movies have come out for you to actaully want to go watch or critic for the matter. Entertaining but not enough for you to actually dive into the film. Toy Story 3 was one I actually cared about. But hope the long hiatus is over.

  • I must say I enjoyed the connoe at the end.

  • well I do have to say this movie was pretty good, better than avatar, and def one of the best movie out so far, besides Kick-Ass & Toy Story 3 (my opinion). I def can't wait til batman 3 or Superman though.

  • and better than Last Airbender. that movie sucked b/c i watched the show after i saw the movie and the show was way better. it was funny too. the movie was maybe a lil too serious and the acting was horrible.

  • long story short, the ending is soo open-minded u decide how the movie ends

  • yo jimmy i love to hear you explain movies. i saw inception the first night and like the first 15 minutes im like OMG this is the best movie ever. But then by the end i felt a strange dissatisfaction that i couldn't explain.

it just felt too much like shutter island which i felt was overrated, predictable, and boring. though inception was boring nor predictable.

  • i think this movie is really a watered down version of those old detective movies like Chinatown. I think the genre is kinda confused. its sort of like how ppl confuse District 9 for being a lame Sci-Fi movie when its really a well made satire on Immigration.

I agree that they vagueness of the characters doesn't really allow for much emotional connection. but most viewing audience is easily impressed and amazed by something that seems Over their heads.

  • (sorry spelling error INception "wasn't" boring)

from what i gather the movie is really just posing the question "What is reality?"

  • hahahahah you seriously give the best reviews and i have really missed them :( and hearing your voice.

  • in the van they were free falling so no gravity and time was slowed down in the second dream. I liked the movie very good acting and story.

  • I fucking love your reviews hahahaha. 'its retarded' hhahahhaha

  • Long time no review!

  • It's good that you're back but this film was not retarded

  • @Mcrlover2death To say that this movie is "retarded" is misleading as to what I thought about it, and I only did so for a more hyperbolic comic effect. It is really so much better than movies that rely on special effects like "Avatar." It makes characters that are fun, it's a very unique movie but it's also very sloppy. I'm not saying I didn't know what was happening in the plot, I'm saying i wasn't flushed out enough for me to enjoy it.

  • @Mcrlover2death Nolan also goes even further to annoy me by exploiting the fact that he hasn't clearly told us how this movie works. whenever something that would halt the plot comes up he throughs in an annoying dues ex machina, and has a character spout some scientific jargon.

  • hmmm, youre still a tough critic. See i found a connection with DiCaprio's to be very engaging. Also the fact that it is a complete mystery for the first half hour to 45 minutes was interesting. As the story comes together, everything starts to piece up and someone thinking about he movie gains the satisfaction "wow, that is what this is all about!"

  • @TyTaxiCab See, no. Actually when everything adds up and they tell you what was going on, someone who payed attention will, to their dissatisfaction say, "wow, that is NOT what this was all about!" With that top at the end Nolan tells us, "Ok guys, this is either a total copout or it makes no sense; you can decide because I don't care (or know) which one it is. DiCaprio's wife is right! A bunch of shadow corporations nothing is really flushed out it makes no sense, you're dreaming dumbass! BS!

  • hey asshole long time no see

  • damn, seven months since your last review. Where were you when Predators, Nightmare on Elm St., and Iron Man 2 came out? I was expecting you especially to review those movies.......

  • jimmybenkins we need more reviews

  • Your Reviews Rock Jimmy! You're slowly helping me learn the art of movie making

  • THUNDER THUNDER THUNDER THUNDER CATS HOOOOO!

  • Glad to see new review, jimmybenkins!

  • This movie was supposed to be a mess. You begin this film without knowing the beginning because it goes hand in hand as to how we end up in dreams. We never understand how we get to a certain point within a dream.

There are many interpretations of this film floating around backed with some very good evidence to support them. I suggest you read up on them as it helps to flesh out the movie. Take note however that even these interpretations may not be what Nolan intended.

  • @NtrMssion The fact that something was intended to be what it shouldn't doesn't mean in should be what it shouldn't. I agree with you and I know that's what they were doing, I'm just saying that that doesn't work (at least in narrative film.) I don't necessarily care about reading interpretations of a film because it is the director's job to convey a meaning and a message to me, not to have it created by his viewers. If he can't do that coherently within the time has allotted imo he has failed.

  • @jimmybenkins

True, it is the director's job to convey a meaning and a message to his audience. However, how is it that a director has failed, if his original intention were to create a story that is left open-ended? (Incidentally, that is not to say that Nolan intended for an open ended film left for the audience to fill in the blanks)

    ..

  • @jimmybenkins

Also, it's a confusing clusterfuck of a film, yes. But the message is there. We just have to figure out what it is, or wait for the answer to reveal itself.

Consider this loose analogy (It's late please excuse..):

A math teacher creates a mathematical problem for his student to solve. Just because the solution is unclear does not make the teacher's puzzle faulty.

  • You're stupid. It would make sense if you paid attention.

  • movie sucks
