  • This is one of the deepest and most beautiful space shooters ever made.

  • xD obey weegee destroy Mario! That really would be an awesome storyline.

  • Look....at your lord....Nobunaga....do you think that one man....could obtain such power.....

  • i want my musha

  • The intro sounds like an enthusiastic teacher imo lol

  • Comment removed

  • Is it just me or does the Narrator for the intro sound like the bland guy you used to hear doing the narration on film strips in elementary school, I kept waiting for the BLEEP, to advance the filmstrip

  • The music in MUSHA is absolutely Incredible. You cannot compare it to anything.

  • @mistertitanic - Yeah...I wonder what happened...kinda ruins the appeal of this game (and I've been looking for it since 199$~)

  • @Syntox What do you mean? Looking for it since 199?

  • @mistertitanic i beg to differ, space megaforce/ super alleste has some dam good music to compare

  • @delsol01 What system is it for?

  • @mistertitanic the snes, but im not using the superior sound quality the snes had over the genesis, just the way the bgms were composed. They fit so well, and isnt quite what one would expect in a schmup. however its just my opinion.

  • @delsol01 Well personally I don't really like much music on the Snes.

  • @mistertitanic what do you like on snesss

  • @123doomdoom Not much at all

  • @mistertitanic Super Aleste, R-type 3, and Axelay Anyone?

  • @123doomdoom I just don't like the Snes very much.

  • @123doomdoom there a super aleste?

  • @MrSuzukahime yes...space mega force in USA

  • This game is so broken. Once you get the level 3 laser it becomes so easy, and it's so long too, that it becomes a chore to play. You can even kill some bosses before they have time to attack you. The bland music certainly doesn't help matters.

  • @sacrisesma Super Mario Bros is so broken. It's too long, making it a chore to play in one sitting. It's so easy once you get a fire flower (if you're a pro at the genre). You can even kill bosses by running through them as long as you have a mushroom. The bland music certainly doesn't help matters. (To anyone else: This is sarcastic).

  • how much do you think is a fair used price for this game ? thanks (PAL & NTSC)

  • cool game and cheaper than musha, yet musha is superior...

  • @mivecturbo I'd like to try MUSHA. Problem is its almost $100 price tag.

  • @MegaFan1994 since when did i become a Neenja Army

  • Sounds Like A Regular Old Dad Telling A Bed Time Story LOL.

  • An interactive documentary of feudal japan.

  • i love the levels

  • Isn't this a sequal of prequal to M.U.S.H.A.?

  • Not a big fan of SHMUPS when they give you a GIANT sprite for your player. I like a nice tiny spaceship with the destructive force of Unicron.

  • @TwigsInc I read that as the destructive force of a Unicorn

  • @TheUndert0ker hehe

  • This game is awful compared to MUSHA. Level 3 is so boring and long that it ruins the flow.

The only good bits are some interesting music tracks and the bosses change depending on circumstances.

  • @WaffleKogen But this game has intense boss fights and awesome ass music that blows away mushas music.

  • Kickass box art.

  • instead of making bad games with bad movie animation and overacted sequences they should've focused on games like this one. It wold've been bad ass to game games like this or Aerofighers, or even KOF with this quality

  • What actually killed him at the end? I've rewatched it about 10 times and I can't tell?

  • I HAVE BEEN LOOKING TO SEE IF YOU REVIEWED THIS GAME FOREVER!! I FORGOT THE NAME OF WHAT IT WAS, BUT IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME =D

  • Power Strike & Power Strike 2 on the Sega Master System are also related to the whole Musha Aleste universe. But Musha Aleste and it's blazin' soundtrack will always be my favourite.

  • Great! it is as i suspected follow up to Super Aleste on the snes. A must have game for the Sega Mega CD i think.

  • I had this game this brings back some great memories

  • why did u say u wouldn't do a better job, you would do a much better job ur voice is the voice of the gods it music to all ears

  • I like to see Sega CD games like that on Virtual Console (Wii) !!!!!

  • Reminds me of....Kiaiden 00.

  • They need to put this on Wii Virtual Console! :)

  • Look at what Microsoft is doing now.

  • Of course, everyone has to realize that Sega was pushing Full Motion Video as the future on Sega CD. Traditional games were given the short shift; indeed, most of the titles on Sega CD were simply Genesis games with a pre-rendered opening and (bad) CD-quality audio.

The fixation was on games like Sewer Shark and Night Trap. There was also a push for digitized graphics, ala Mortal Kombat. That was the holy grail for "realism" in the early '90s.

    Weird, huh?

  • @gamesDAMNED Of course, none of this happened in Europe nor Japan. FMV was Sega of America's thing.

  • Boy I sure glad I skipped the Mega CD.

Thunderforce 4 had better graphics and that was a Mega Drive Game

  • I am also a big fan of MUSHA and Robo Aleste. Nice review.

  • I own this. Sega CD was mostly trash but there were a few incredible titles and this was one of them. If Sega had not been run by brain-dead monkeys, this shows you what the Sega CD could have been.

  • i saw this in a game mag when i was a kid and always wanted to play it solely based on the name

  • Mark's narrating skills would have knocked that intro out of the park

  • This game kicked ass.

  • i thout you like thunder force 3 the best on the genesis not musha wtf man witch one do you like better realy???????

  • Why can't both be his favorites in their respective categories? MUSHA is a vert and the Thunder Force games are horis.

  • Comment removed

  • Huh, it does seems like the guy just reading it off for the actual voice actor to later record the final audio track.

  • It felt soooooo good playing a game which such a wonderful soundtrack!

  • I kinda wish this was identical to MUSHA so I wouldn't have to pay $200 for a copy. : )

  • then go get it on line burn it or emu it

  • 6:56 That music sounds like the Neo Tokyo level in Timesplitters 2, which was a blatant tribute to Blade Runner. Sweet.

  • I friggin' got the game :O

  • Badass soundtrack =)

  • never heard of this game before, gonna have to bid on ebay for it!!

  • I still can't decide if this or Silpheed is my favorite Sega CD game.

I think Compile should have teamed up with Game Arts, and made a game for the Saturn where you pilot a giant robot samurai like in this game but the perspective is like Silpheed, and the in game graphics looked like the cutscenes from this game, and the levels could be any theme you could think of with great big bosses that looked like Godzilla movie monsters.

  • what are you talking about, everyone knows that there were steam powered robots in ancient japan.

they all got destroyed by the giant enemy crabs though

  • @bobopatchigglerrulez Don't patronize me. Of course I knew that.

  • If you guys like Robo Aleste and M.U.S.H.A, you should check out Power Strike and Power Strike II for the Sega Master System. They are wicked hard games...

These types are my all time favorites!! I wish that they still made scrolling shooters!!

  • they should make a new version for the ps2, ps3 or xbox 360

  • yep classic game room pawns all other game review shows especially in the 1999-2000 shows

  • superultramegafantastic

  • Classic Game Room = Best Video Game Reviews EEEEVerrrrrrrr !

  • Evaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrr!

  • avgn is not doing serious reviews. He is doing a comedy act. He admits to playing the games badly to make it look like they are harder than they are. He is only doing a comedy show. He rarely does serious game reviews. Don't take AVGN's stuff seriously.

  • A lot of the games he reviews are actually really bad, though. Some are still good.

  • Find Space Megaforce for SNES. It's also known as Super Aleste on the Super Famicom in JPN and EUR.

  • Also, I love how the AVGN oh so fanboyishly left out ALL of the good games when he reviewed Sega CD. Also looking at his SNES vs. Genesis console war recap, what a fucking Nintendo whore. AVGN fucking sucks, I like these reviews better.

  • Yeah, the console war review was pretty funny that way. AVGN came off as an obvious fanboy from the NES days that still hasn't given up his grudges after all these years.

Personally, I jumped ship from NES to Genesis and loved it. Wasn't a fan of the SNES, but I don't hold grudges against it. Life goes on.

  • THE NEENJA ARMY WHITE FANG!!!

  • I nearly choked on my drink when I heard that line. And I'm still laughing.

  • The early cd games suffered from horrible acting. Check out the Y's series on the turbografx CD for some good laughs.

  • Wow man you need some rest from these reviews you do them almost everyday may you need to get of your PC and fuck up with ten bottle of beer!

  • Yeah and in Japan Musha was originally called Musha Aleste not Musha Seismic.

  • i wish i had your job

  • well i dont think Mark gets paid for these reviews. He does it for the love of classic games and the fans that really enjoy watching these classic games being reviewed.

  • He should something for the reviews. It rules and gets some good attention to the games.

Would just wish he would review more PS3/ DC and Commadoré games.

  • robo aleste sounds like robot birth control

  • the voice sounds like craig t nelson

  • can i know the background music of all ur reviews???

  • I LOLLED WHEN THE NARATOR WAS TALKING ABOUT THE "White Fang"!!! So freakin' funny!

BTW, I don't know about some haters, but I loved this game...

  • My friend had this back in the day. MUSHA Aleste is a better game.

  • First, ONH!! ;-)

  • Those spinny things are normally called Satellites or moons in shoot em' ups :D

  • COOL

  • Great review mark. I want to play Robo Aleste.

  • A decent looking game for the Sega CD, thats odd.

Another quality review, I don't see how he can have a day job and make these videos at the same time.

  • maybe its not a monday to friday job, and maybe he works from home

  • I bet Stella the videogame dog actually makes all of the reviews, Mark probably does only voiceover and marketing.

  • This game reminds me a lot of "Space Megaforce" for the SNES. Check it out sometime. It's an excellent game.

  • that game looks awesome

  • Super Aleste ( Space Megaforce ) for snes is superb!

  • he said ninja odd XD

  • Great review.

BTW someone is messing up the thumbs.

  • Hey mark love your videos. Just wondering have you played elemental master on the genesis it is your type of game. I would love to see a review. Keep up the awesome job.

  • I wish I could get my hands on a sega cd

  • Ebay/amazon/estarland have sega CDs

  • beer!

  • Well those d-bags who keep simply posting first view/first comment need to find a new productive hobby. That guy definitely teased it though I woulda let him slide since he had more to say...

But anyways it is great to see another Sega CD review and yea Sonic CD was a niice game and it would be a review everyone could enjoy.

  • Someone is going around down thumbing posts for sure. Just about every post is thanking Mark for yet another awesome review, or something else that's positive or on topic, and they all have -1 or more. So everyone who's posted.......give a thumbs up for every post that's either positive or at least non-negative. Let's show whomever is behind this they don't control what goes on here. WE do.

  • For a second I thought it said Robo Ales, I just knew he'd say something about beer.

  • You gotta try Super Aleste aka Space Mega Force in the US.

  • Hopefully we can see reviews of all Aleste games! Other than these videos, I don't know much else about them. I wonder if you'll shell out the $XXX to buy a MSX2? "Aleste 2" appears to be exclusive to that machine. Two games that should be easy to get, though, are Power Strike (Master System) and Space Megaforce (Super Nintendo)

  • hwy classic game room i was just wondering what are your top 5 favorite (and affordable, not musha) sega genesis games. everything except sonic i have all of those.

    please reply!

  • nice

  • Wicked awesome game and review.

  • Great Review.

  • really good game but sonic cd is the best sega cd game

  • At least you were first. Unlike guilhugas who said first comment when he was second. >.>

  • Second comment douchebag
