You do realize that Israel attacked 1st in 1967, fought the entire war outside of her borders, won easily in six days, and continues to illegally occupy W Bank, Golan Hghts, E Jerusalem?

i like chomsky, but not once did he address the fact that suicide bombers are also resposible. that religion in the form of the koran which orders muslims to kill christians and jews creates the anger israelis have, and why they want them out of the region. there is so much hatred in israel for islam beecause so many have lost loved ones. you cannot go to a mall without your car being checked for bombs. chompsky does not address that "you can understand why they are angry" from israels side.

False. He did adress your fact, consistently. if you take a look at suicide bombing, you'll find out that it's a very recent phenomenon. The isreali occupation traces way back in the 20th century. You can't logically claim that Israelis are acting on self defense. Unless you don't believe in the vast amount of documents Chomsky provides in these talks. Others did as well, among them are Israeli specialists. I'm afraid I can't argue if you intentionally chose to ignore that.

I hate to break it to you but the conquest of land through war is illegal in international law. Quite rightful. And Israel did indeed start the '67 war.

If a country would put itself in severe jeopardy by not maintaining control of land they won in a war they didn't start then you can fault them all you want but it's a matter of survival. And Israel did not start the '67 war.

It certainly is not a matter of survival. On the contrary, Israel's colonial expansion onto the occupied territory has increased the threats to its existence. The occupied territories provide Israel with a substantial unorganized labor force and a controlled market for Israeli goods. More importantly they're a source of water. That is why for 30 yrs Israel has preferred expansion to peace (Taba in '01 was the only time Israel seriously a 2-state solution accepted by everyone else for decades).

It sure is a matter of survival. Otherwise Israel would have indefensible borders - easily within range of virtually any size rocket. Israel does not occupy terroritories - it was Jewish land 1st; lots of land was bought from Arabs & Turks; there was immigration; some Jews already lived there; other parts were won in wars; & other parts were lost by those engaging in terrorist activities. It was Ok when the Arabs wanted to steal it all in 1948 when they tried to wipe out all the Jews?

The Jews who already lived in Palestine were anti-Zionist. Israel was established through terrorism & the ethnic cleaning of the Palestinians. Again, land cannot be "won" in war. It can only be stolen. The 1948 war was not an attempt to wipe out the Jews. In '48 there was a civil war in which the Zionists threw out the Palestinians & then conquered territory not allotted them by the partition. It was only THEN that the Arabs attacked - mostly against Jordan, though, which was a European lackey.

'Security through expansion' is the justification of all imperialists. It was used by the US in its genocidal war against the Indians and by the Nazis against Europe. It is given zero credit, rightfully. Israel has chosen for the past 30 years to reject peace in the name of expansion, colonization and theft of land. It has also offered its services to its U.S. master by helping to oppress Central America and African nations.
