There's no arguement here for intellectuals and people with brain cells that Occupied Palestine the Zionists are the biggest threat to the planet! With the US supporting. You would have to be mentally challenged to not see this fact which is proven and in the public domain, not the Zionist controlled media.

what nonsense, the arab countries attacked israel immediately after becoming a nation. several times, yom kippur and 6 day war mean anything? this is always glossed over. the arabs attacked 60 years before gaza, so pleeease dont even go there. it is all about the book of hate and the tourist dollar and chomsky glosses over this with his anti american rhetoric. and no. i am not american
You do realize that Israel attacked 1st in 1967, fought the entire war outside of her borders, won easily in six days, and continues to illegally occupy W Bank, Golan Hghts, E Jerusalem?
i like chomsky, but not once did he address the fact that suicide bombers are also resposible. that religion in the form of the koran which orders muslims to kill christians and jews creates the anger israelis have, and why they want them out of the region. there is so much hatred in israel for islam beecause so many have lost loved ones. you cannot go to a mall without your car being checked for bombs. chompsky does not address that "you can understand why they are angry" from israels side.
False. He did adress your fact, consistently. if you take a look at suicide bombing, you'll find out that it's a very recent phenomenon. The isreali occupation traces way back in the 20th century. You can't logically claim that Israelis are acting on self defense. Unless you don't believe in the vast amount of documents Chomsky provides in these talks. Others did as well, among them are Israeli specialists. I'm afraid I can't argue if you intentionally chose to ignore that.
Another Zionist commenting (sorry criticizing) on the crimes of Zionist colonialism which has been occupying Palestine for the last 60 years and decemating the indigenous people. Chomsky fits perfectly to the definition of his oft repeated word - hypocrite.
For those offended by this - please refer to his comments on Zionism & Jewish homeland in his interview with The Book TV. Also, if you can read and analyse on your own, check out his Zionist past in the official biography by Robert Barsky.
So is Israel so daft towards it's own history as well as the history of any and all besieged and oppressed people as to think that relentless violence ever results in "peace and quiet," or is their ultimate plan a slow but steady removal (genocide) of all the Palestinian people which can be the only logical outcome of their apparent strategy, and would also explain their increasingly destructive behavior over the years?
28 have been killed by the Qassam rockets since they started firing them, you'd expect more through sheer chance what with all those thousands of launches, but even the IDF admits the things are purely psychological
And in regards to human rights, they have carried out torture, extra-judicial assassinations, house demolitions, and the restriction of free movement within the territories. All of this is thoroughly documented by Amnesty, Human Rights Watch, and the Israeli human rights group, B'tselem, to name only the largest groups.
also the way they're building settlements, security walls, roadblocks, etc has an interesting effect - it divides the Palestinian elements of the West Bank into three discontected segments. Check out a map and see.

the arabs should be thankfull to israel for simply allowing them to remain on jewish land. not happy with water issues ? pack you shit and go home to arabia.
I hate to break it to you but the conquest of land through war is illegal in international law. Quite rightful. And Israel did indeed start the '67 war.

If a country would put itself in severe jeopardy by not maintaining control of land they won in a war they didn't start then you can fault them all you want but it's a matter of survival. And Israel did not start the '67 war.
It certainly is not a matter of survival. On the contrary, Israel's colonial expansion onto the occupied territory has increased the threats to its existence. The occupied territories provide Israel with a substantial unorganized labor force and a controlled market for Israeli goods. More importantly they're a source of water. That is why for 30 yrs Israel has preferred expansion to peace (Taba in '01 was the only time Israel seriously a 2-state solution accepted by everyone else for decades).

It sure is a matter of survival. Otherwise Israel would have indefensible borders - easily within range of virtually any size rocket. Israel does not occupy terroritories - it was Jewish land 1st; lots of land was bought from Arabs & Turks; there was immigration; some Jews already lived there; other parts were won in wars; & other parts were lost by those engaging in terrorist activities. It was Ok when the Arabs wanted to steal it all in 1948 when they tried to wipe out all the Jews?
The Jews who already lived in Palestine were anti-Zionist. Israel was established through terrorism & the ethnic cleaning of the Palestinians. Again, land cannot be "won" in war. It can only be stolen. The 1948 war was not an attempt to wipe out the Jews. In '48 there was a civil war in which the Zionists threw out the Palestinians & then conquered territory not allotted them by the partition. It was only THEN that the Arabs attacked - mostly against Jordan, though, which was a European lackey.
'Security through expansion' is the justification of all imperialists. It was used by the US in its genocidal war against the Indians and by the Nazis against Europe. It is given zero credit, rightfully. Israel has chosen for the past 30 years to reject peace in the name of expansion, colonization and theft of land. It has also offered its services to its U.S. master by helping to oppress Central America and African nations.

What criminal acts is Israel carrying out in the West Bank?
JerrySPsy 3 years ago
Colonizing the land, building settlements, taking over the water resources; making it so that a 2-state solution becomes impossible.

The West Bank was won in a war that Israel never even started - that's the risk a country takes when it wages war.
