I am surprised that you chosed to compare QSCK10 instead of the QSCK12 against the PRX612M. Wouldn't be odd to compare these two, since one is 10" and the other is 12"? What do you say?
Of these 2 speakers side by side, what did you like best and why? Which one would you personally buy for all around general use (some days a FOH speaker, some days a monitor perhaps) ?? Which did you prefer and why, Thanks!
@jasperibe why is it not reccomdended?>....and how can> you connected in the back of the prx series with a laptop or ipod.....theres not rca input....is is something else esle?..
@missle25 3.5 isn't balanced and needs to be balanced via a mixer or cheaper XLR-M to RCA Impedance Transformer Neutrik NA2M-D0B-TX. I have 2 of these to convert my cd rca's to runb on 2 JBL prx635's, the bigger version on these 612's
The 635's are a bit big for what I need really and I am thinking of downgrading them to 612's
@jasperibe wow for both?....oh ok....hey by the way any opiinon on the eurolive b215d from behrengier?...same question.....how big a party with no sub and not pushing them, meanign using them in peace then where you dont have tow rorry
@artofthepartyla there weren't any K12 in the store...and have been waiting for months to have them available at one time...and at the time I couldn't wait any longer.
much dearer in the UK about the same in £s booooo... more i hear is djs are running flat. I was impressed when listening to the k10s recently. clear ... not the same traditional sound as djs go for i.e. as we say arse and tits! top and bottom more rounded sound I do like the k10s after looking think i will go for them.
Alright, I went to Guitar Center today and heard both of these. I love the PRX 612. The QSC is good, but does not have that distinct punchiness, its super clear, and very powerful, but the PRX sounds more "full". I love the sound of the wooden enclosure, and if you need to decide, go hear them. Both are great speakers, but the PRX just sounds better! I will be getting a pair of PRX615M in december and will make an entire review. Thanks for the video!
am I reading that right the store wants $ 929.00 for one cabinet? I hope you did not buy it, because you are getting ripped off! I can get that at any other retailer for $ 699. Why are his prices so high? Or is it for a pair??
@jasperibe OK that makes sense, they are fantastic speakers, I am gettin the 615 M in a few weeks. I am a pro DJ and went to the DJ Expo in Atlantic City NJ, and the JBL Booth had these. Two of the 12's and 2 of the XLF subs, and they are truly incredible.
@JDuran91 between the K10 and K12 there is very little in difference in audio quality, but a slight difference in audio range. I think the K10, K12 and PRX612M are all great speakers. I plan on doing a conclusion video with my answer in the near future.
How is the high end on it? I had a set of the 512m's and they were kind of harsh.
As for the Bose L1 debate. I had 2 L1's with 4 bass modules and sold them as fast as I possibly could. Seems like they would do okay for a jazz group or something but trying to use them for any kind of electrified band is an exercise in futility. They have no headroom and will feedback without an eq. I am a full time engineer with 12 years exp., was hoping I could use them for the small stuff but they are useless
@djsparkyy I know how you feel about the PRX500 series, I was really disappointed with their sound quality. And when I heard the PRX600 series was coming out, I was hopeful. When I finally heard them with my own ears, I was pleased with the mid-highs and the overall sound quality. I recommend you check them out and hear with your own ears ;-)
I was wondering if I can plug my iPod directly into 2 of these speakers with a 3.5mm splitter with 1/4 endings. Would this make my sound quality very poor or would it work just fine? If it does mess up sound quality, what would you recommend for me to buy. Like some type of mixer, receiver, etc.
@JDuran91 Technically, you should be able to do so with little loss to sound quality. I'd recommend having a mixer, even a basic 2 channel mixer to pre-amp the signal level and adjust eq at one place rather than having to eq each speaker.
oh my god thank you thank you thank you for this video i was looking online for something like this i just cant decide and my local stores dont have them in yet but im pretty sure the jbl prx 612 is the way to go right
HUGE JBL fan, great durable products. There are a few things that JBL hasnt quite got down... But over all JBL is quality and mine have never let me down, I can't wait to order these when they come in!
@DJJDBass I agree that Bose sound great but you didn't really give any facts in your "Truth about Bose L1" I have the QSC K12's which I chose over the Bose L1 and I couldn't be happier.
@mike31jmb whyat do you mean by facts, it's all facts & real world experience through the last 2 years of use. Specs mean nothing with out information of how they perform in real life - esp. in echoy rooms---> the L1's will win hands down EVERY TIME in rooms like this!!!
Look don't knock them if you haven't tried them. It's a whole new type of speaker technology & I admit that it's hard to wrap your head around it, but it works & it works well. Every thing in my truth about Bose L1's is fact & the truth weather you can handle it or not. Perhaps you can't handle the truth, but those who embrace it will enjoy the many benefit that this extremely versatile & unique system has to offer.

@DJJDBass I have tried them and I've heard them live with a band. The funny thing is that the live band had to have 4 systems (with double bass bins each) to get any amount of volume like you get with a couple of subs and a pair of over cabs. So why waste that much money? It's not new speaker technology it's line array they just downsized it. It works for you, OK I get that, but it doesn't work for me. I've played, recorded and have DJ'd for 25 years. So I agree to disagree.
@gangster10193 - Gangster - I had the jbl prx515 and I HATED them - so that is why I sold them and got the qsc k10 speakers... BUT... I have heard major improvements with the 6 series JBL... and I do not think my qsc k 10's pump out 1000 watts - its more like 500-700 watts and there is NO bass... the ones Jasper tested seem to have more bass... BUT I would not trade my k10s in for these but for a new DJ looking for speakers ... both are good options
Discounted to $929? U R getting ripped up there in canada! you can walk into any store in Cali and get them < $700.
Why are you comparing a PRX612 to a K10? that makes no sense? Why not the KW122, especially since the money is the same? of course the bigger woofer is gonna pack more punch. My hpr-152s woulda pissed on that prx!
i'm in the market for a new sub, and ALWAYS run through comparisons before buying. At the time i bought each of my 5 qsc powered speakers, nothing compared to them!
What did you think it sounded like the JBL was more accurat through the camera but Its not fair for me to say as I wasnt there ...the verdic? come on Im ready to do that with the Gemini's I know they wont get as loud but Damn they sound good now I just hope they last ,,,Im thinking about getting som GVX 15P's for a small wedding system
