@MaximusCerberus. Not trying to start a fight but when you buy an apple product it may not be the best, top of the line hardware available but many industries and members of the public use macs for a few common reasons.
1. Some of the available software for the users can only be installed legally on mac os. Eg final cut and logic which are industry standards.
2. The customer support available for the user and the product is far superior to any computer manufacturer.
Yo SoldierBoy what do you exactly do for a living... you seem to have enough money to buy overprice computers? Just wondering but your videos are cool to learn from!
all you people are too poor to see the truth lol I have an Aquasana water purifier that eliminates on average 99.9% of all the toxic chemicals aaaaaaaaaaaaand I only eat organic foods, so your eating 500X more of toxic shit that can kill you, than I am. Than you very much goodbye
Actually, I told YOU to fuck up...BOY! And you LISTENED to your elder, because I never heard anything BACK from you until NOW!
That's because you were assraped by my superior intellect, my knowledge, and my superiority when it comes to computers! I still haven't heard you come back with a decent reply regarding the Samsung 305T which you CHALLENGED me to find for a decent price.
In fact, I'm going to bet that your so fucking stupid that you're going to reply to me and start your bullshit again. Heres something that'll get to ya, iMacs are a better value than if you were to custom build a PC. Theres my bait MaximusCerberus, now take it.
iMacs are SHIT, in every way possible. ZERO upgradeability, a piss-poor hardware configuration, shoddy workmanship with tons of bugs and design flaws (as demonstrated by the truckloads of dead-ass iMacs being sent back to Apple), and NO future.
There's no Mac in existence that can touch a PC. EVER. You can think otherwise if you want, but it won't make it true. So go ahead, and keep trying to convince everyone that the sky is pink.
Say Hi to the Easter Bunny for me while you're at it.
Just what I would expect in classic PC can't shut the fuck up fashion, you took my bait lol.
Let's see here, "ZERO" upgradeability? Bullshitting already, huh? So I can upgrade my RAM anytime I want to.........and my HDD. I believe that means you can upgrade an iMac.
Someone with a custom PC is goint o talk to me about shoddy workmanship? Why is it that the most PC people who switch to Mac are "smart" people who are tired of there custom machines breaking down?
Why is it that when I configure a custom computer on newegg, on every High End part I pick theres always 3 people in the comments who say "I would have rated it better but it died on me after 1 week!!!" Why?
Yes, Macs wont ever touch PCs but did you ever stop and think thats because Macs are so far ahead? And btw, you seem to know a whole lot about dead iMacs (truckloads, in fact), so why don't you site your source?
"Macs wont ever touch PCs but did you ever stop and think thats because Macs are so far ahead?"
What in the FUCK are you TALKING about? HAHAHAHAHA!! That's a most RIDICULOUS statement I've ever heard! Overpriced, underperforming hardware means it'll FAIL every single time!
Oh, and by the way, I'd be real careful "upgrading" your system. I hear that pulling the back panel off the iMac automatically VOIDS your warranty.
No, a "RIDICULOUS" statement would be like the one you have just produced.
You idea of over priced is paying for something thats worth the money you just don't want it. Just because you don't want a 47" flat screen tv doesn't mean it's overpriced, it means you dont want it.
Next I can upgrade my RAM anytime I want without voiding my warranty
I PM'd you the 17" MacBook Pro specs vs the GX720 "gaming computer" specs lol of course, you were wrong again as you see the 17" MBP is an overall better mobile computer, with a better battery life, i forgot to add. Do the upgraded specs of the MacBook Pro permit a value of $1,499 extra to be justified? I don't know, I don't want, nor do I need, a mobile computer in that spec range.
If you think a processor with a .5 increase, one step resolution higher, and 180GB extra hard drive space justifies an extra $1500, you're a moron......just like you were at thee start of this.
my ASUS G71GX-A2 is a Mac-slaughtering notebook with technology that puts it so shame, and it only ran me $1800.......with a carrying bag, a mouse, and the industry's BEST warranty.
Compare THOSE specs.....a Quad Core vs. a Dual-Core Macbook, then get back to me :)
But, because I know you wont shut up if I don't address this ASUS computer, shall I begin?
Well you have compared just about all of the components of the ASUS, but like always you got at least one thing wrong. The ASUS has DDR2 memory which is a WHOLE lot lower than DDR3, DDR3 is a luxury. And on top of that it maxes out at 6GB and the MacBook pro maxes at 8GB. Next, "your" ASUS weighs 8.5 pounds! What's the point of a Laptop that weighs so much?
i guess nobody told you that there is almost zero difference between DDR2 and DDR3. when DDR3 first came out it performed worse than DDR2 did, and the difference is still negligable. you are one of those guys who thinks bigger number means more power. it does not. Macs may have DDR3 but what are the latency timings? generic ram sucks in comparison to high perf-ram. i bet the latency timings in the Asus smoke the mac. you need more comptuer education
1. DDR2 Memory was outperformed by DDR when DDR2 first came out. Your point? My RAM is overall better than his because he doesn't have a computer with DDR3 and none of them are faster than 667MHz. 667MHz is the bar at which DDR2 BARELY surpasses DDR. Now if your saying that his RAM is comparable to mine, then IDK what to say to you next because, you'll say whatever just to make it seem as if you know what your talking about.
On top of that it has a battery life of 2 hours which is flat-out UNEXCEPTABLE. Sure it has more power but the battery life defeats the purpose of having a laptop.
Apple will eventually announce MacBook Pros with Core 2 Quad processors, but Apple also has the longest lasting battery in any FULLY FUNCTIONING Laptop with 8 hours on a single charge, so although they may have less efficient processors, at least they will have batteries that'll last 5 hours, which is still more life than most PCs
You really need to learn to pay attention to detail.
First of all, you're the moron once again for not reading what I said. I said, I don't know if the subtle, but none the less real, upgrades justified the price.
Second, That MSI computer maxes out at 4GB, but it only comes with 2GB of DDR2 memory.
Third, I don't believe that you have this ASUS computer because I think you would have used it as your first laptop example if you knew the specs. Stop BS-ing
Uhhhhh, no........I bought the MSI GT720 for my wife. I bought the G71GX-A2 for myself. Thinking I don't own it doesn't change the situation. The NEW G71GX-A2 includes DDR2 (for reasons I can't fathom), not the model that came out 8 months ago. I can upgrade the RAM in the ASUS to 12GB, easily. About the weight......you need to work out a bit more, because 8 pounds ain't a lot of weight.
Face it......your Macs are overpriced junk. Try as you might to believe otherwise. Go ahead.
1. I don't believe you have either. Realize that, that doesn't change the topic at hand, I just doubt you them.
2. We aren't comparing an 8 month old model, we are comparing the latest models of MBP and PC Laptops. Why, how am I supposed to know what came with "your" computer? You could be making shit up, as you do a lot.
3. The Asus maxes out at 6GB
4. Your beyond, beyond, once more, beyond retarded if you believe that weight doesn't matter. MacBooks outsell "your" laptop, why???
"Unless your motherboard supports both ddr2 and ddr3 it's a mute point you can't put ddr3 in ddr2. If your thinking about upgrading motherboards and processor then go with ddr3, but not worth the money for small amount of performance increase just for faster memory."
"The key to remember is that memory is seldom the bottleneck in any system. The only reason to get memory with higher speeds is so that you can overclock your processor, and get a little performance boost from your memory. "
Nicely put, dude. That's very true. Unless you can verify the RAM timings, they mean nothing. I seem to remember the Intel Q9700 CPU going up against a CPU of lesser number, and it did poorly. Numbers don't mean everything.
As for my ASUS, my particular model is DDR3. They changed the A2 somewhere down along the line and omitted DDR3, plus the small LED readout on the surface of the laptop near the hotkeys (God knows why). The current website model is NOT my model.
indeed yes Max. your laptop is a beast and you paid less and i totally get the point you were trying to make. idiggMGL wants to go on about battery life which means nothing, i also have a powerful laptop and i don't care about battery life as I dont sit in coffee shops all day long. 2 hours life is fine for me and the rest of the time i just plug it in. it doesn't bother me. besides you could always buy a stronger 3rd party battery too
Pfshaw! The battery life argument makes me laugh! 2 hour battery life on my ASUS is dependent on running it on maxed out settings all time, plus the LED lights on the case, etc. I've set up Windows 7 to run extreme high power when plugged in, and modestly when on battery life.
Just for fun, I gamed Crysis at full settings on battery and got an hour and 15 minutes or so out of the battery. Standard desktop / work and the battery lasted almost 4 hours. That's PLENTY for me.
Yes, unfortunately some people are willing to sacrifice maximum power for battery life.....while paying through the nose for it. *Sigh* There's nothing more sad than watching a sucker fall victim to a scam, hook line and sinker.
Paying through the nose? Really? You disappoint me on so many different levels. Who has a job anymore? You'll find that a lot of Mac users still rock their G5s, wanna know why? Invest in a Mac and you'll receive performance that goes above and beyond an above average PC.
HAHA your are THE typical arrogant/moronic/asshole PC user lol. And what did I spell wrong, "except?" I spelled "except" the same way you did, the right way. Unfortunately, in your head you spelled it wrong too?
Holy crap, I know why you hate Macs now! Young people like Macs (you aren't young). Us kids and our fancy technology, you think to yourself. Give up old man, just because half your life is gone doesn't mean you take it out on the youth. Especially when the youth just kicked your ass.
uhhh you didnt kick anybodys ass there son. his computer and his laptop both have more power than anything you can muster so i wouldn't talk about technology. funny kid tho :)
LOL the youth kicked your ass too! You didn't make ANY kind of rebuttal to what I said, none. Oh wait, you graduated a LONG TIME ago. So you never took a computer to school? Did they have portable computers called "laptops" back in the day? I go to school for 9 hours straight and I need the best battery possible and MacBook Pro is KING.
Oh ya, and my Quad Core i7 iMac is more powerful then MOST consumer PCs, probably even yours.
First of all, your channel says your 18, and I'm in no position to be taking advice from anyone who isn't knowledgeable.
Second, looks like your from a time where fathers teach the lessons and mothers just cook and clean, right? Get over yourself. 1) My mother taught me respect to people, who deserve it. 2) Young or old respect is something earned, not given as a gift.
3) if you were smart enough to READ THE ENTIRE CONVERSATION GOING ON BELOW, you'd have seen that the person I was talking to deserves no respect, AT ALL. I'm a very opinionated person and I don't give the slightest shit if you don't know what "arrogant" really means, or "pretentious," for that matter.
And btw, I'm no "Mac user," I'm a person. "What you need ia an beating..." get the fuck out of here with that shit!
I get double what you get with 4 pounds less and no charger or extra batteries. I can actually use my mobile computer, as a mobile computer. Imagine that.
Yes I get 8 hours easily with my MacBook Pro, on full settings 5 hours which is on par with Apples 5+ hour claim. Playing CoD4 I get 3-3 1/2 hours, which is much longer still.
Battery, LIFE, MEANS, NOTHING? ARE YOU FUCKED UP ON DOPE? Battery life means EVERYTHING in a portable computer, WTF? Who the wants to carry around 3 batteries to equal ONE MacBook Pro charge? You may say, "i don't need that many batteries because I alway have it connected to an outlet." Well guess what, I go to school and have to carry a ton of book daily with my MacBook Pro. Are you saying that an 8 pound laptop with a 2 pound charger is a REAL LIFE ALTERNATIVE? Really, think about it.
As for having the exact same specs....they're both 17" laptops with a dual-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and 512MB video cards.
Despite the ridiculously subtle differences you posted....it STILL doesn't justify anything but a $300 price increase.
So, where's the extra $1200 going? THE CASE??? I'll PRAY that you're joking! If you honestly believe that the Mac is going to pull triple the numbers of the MSI, you're delusional. They'd practically be neck-and-neck.
1. They don't have the same specs. And, you never said "they have the same specs, when it comes to RAM, Processor, and 9600 video cards." You said they had the exact same specs, and you were WRONG, except it.
2. They wouldn't be neck and neck. "Your" computer would be neck and neck with other computers with the same specs. The MacBook Pro would be neck and neck with other computer with the SAME specs as it.
3. You are a typical PC user who hates Macs, so I know you'll lie a whole lot.
And as far as the $1,200 monitor, I said that, that monitor plus an i7 computer comes out to be more than an iMac. If you want I'll show you the custom parts I picked to prove this.
Indeed. I think what we all need to remember is that people who buy Macs aren't computer versatile to begin with. They believe the hype, the stupid TV commercials, and other naive Mac owners who insist on the superiority of the Mac platform.
In truth, Mac is usually BEHIND in every category. Even the new Mac Pro comes with two Quad-Core processors......yet decides to stick a 512MB video card onto the system, then charge a RIDICULOUS price tag. You're screwed from the very start.
I'm talking about the part where you're saying the mac is inferior just because it does not use the highest parts. What macs give you is superior user experience with a well selected combination of software and hardware. You'll never get this because your bias clouds your judgement
There's nothing significant or advantageous about their hardware.......PERIOD. It's obsolete straight out of the box, utilizing 2 (and sometimes 5) year old hardware for a stupid price tags.
I'll "never get this?" What a shame that I can handpick all of my parts and build a super-powerful computer that trounces any Mac 5 times over for $500-$1500 less.
Nothing clouds my judgment, least of all bias. I'm simply too smart for Apple.
Lol it's actually very funny that you and other Apple haters hate it that a group of people could actually love the computers that they've chosen to work with.
Oh yes, because there's no possible way that a 1792MB GTX295 could POSSIBLY outperform a 512MB video card, despite all of the benchmarking evidence, huh? I guess they were imagining all those figures and numbers!
Heh heh! Such is the mentality of Mac users. With no argument left, they grasp at straws.
They're not that much cheaper and they don't have the same performance because they're running windows, Mac OS X runs way better on lower spec hardware
i understand were you are coming from . I used to think like this but after many pc's i would rather spend more money for the service apple has , the quality of work they put into it and there reliability.
Check your shit retard, there isn't a single dell/hp all-in-one with the same specs as the iMac. And to even get to something close to what the iMac can do you end up paying more. For a Mac computer this scenario would be fine because you're paying for a unique experience, but for a dell?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. And you say the display is a LG or Samsung? Your proof?
There are plenty of Dells and HPs with the same......or BETTER specs than the iMac. Where have you been looking???
The only you're paying for with Mac are the fashion gimmicks. Sorry, but dead-end hardware and zero upgradeability at a ridiculous price makes for an all-around SHIT computer.
And besides, nobody smart buys a store-bought computer. They build their own from scratch or buy from an enthusiast company. Mentioning Dell proves that you're computer illiterate.
You stupid idiotic biased moron, I wasn't talking to you! Second, if you bothered to read my fucking comment I SAID "there isn't a single dell/hp all-in-one with the same specs as the iMac." Stop being an asshole to everybody here and just shut the fuck up!
And guess what dickhead the majority of PC users buy computers from dell and hp so I guess most PC users are brainless idiots LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL FUCK OFF!!!!!!!!
Are you upset because I actually proved you wrong? SHIT, son, go on Dell's website and choke on the fact that you can customize a Dell Inspiron with almost double the power of the 27" iMac for $900 bucks.
Toss in a 30" LCD monitor and BAM, you're STILL under the price of an iMac, with BETTER hardware.
Are you going to scream at me again because you got raped with superior knowledge? That's what I do, slugger! That's what I do.
You stupid idiotic biased moron! Once again, let us review what I said. This time I'll just restate the sentence all together (I'll even space out the sentence so it'll have a better chance of penetrating your soft head).
There is not an "ALL-IN-ONE" dell or hp that has the
same or better specs than the iMac. This is all about
an ALL-IN-ONE computer. NOT A TOWER COMPUTER.
And I'd like you to find a 27" 2650x1440 display with ips for
No smart person is going to be a so-called "all in one" computer that has ZERO room for upgradeability and absolutely no future. That's your "all in one."
You also didn't read my previous comment. You can buy a 30" monitor with 2560x1600 resolution (kicks the mac's ass) and STILL come out well under the price of the iMac, with tons of room for upgradeability.
Are you going to swear and scream at me some more? There's no point. You've lost this "debate."
Here's where we're at, because you can't seem to grasp that there is no debate here, just me telling you facts. I said that the iMac is the best spec'd all-in-one computer (And I wasn't even saying that to you, by the way). You said "no," and brought up tower PCs.......That's not a debate, that's your idiocy shining it's brightest.
That 30" monitor costs $1,600. With the addition of a $700 tower PC, it's $2,300. That is more than the i7 iMac and you get cheap cases and components.
No, that 30" monitor is $1,100..........CANADIAN!! That means it's even CHEAPER in the States. Which means that I'm right, you're WRONG.
That's your idiocy shining it's brightest.
As for "cheap cases and components," who do you think manufacturers the components in the iMac? APPLE???????? Well I'll PRRRRRRRRRRAY that you're joking!
The same companies that build parts for PCs build parts for Macs.
They just put more powerful components in PCs. ANOTHER bloody nose for you!
Ok first off, what is the exact name of the monitor genius? Because I looked up 30" monitor and saw nothing under $1,600 WITH IPS. Your dumbass never told me what brand monitor it was. My guess? Your just bullshitting.
Second, do you really assemble your own computers? Because your incedibly ignorant comment threw me off. I said "YOUR" computer had toilet parts. You probably just put the cheapest generic parts together that look like a pile of wires with 50 fans connected to it. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Samsung 305T 30" monitor with 2560x1600 resolution........cost? $1,192.99 Canadian dollars at Compu2000.
Fucking HURTS, doesn't it kiddo? As for "IPS," if you want to buy an overpriced junk-can of a computer just because you're too lazy to bump your monitor up and down by 1/4 inch, that's YOUR prerogative.
your sad man, how old are you? you like insulting students trying to show off more intelligence cos you couldnt beat anyone elses? Im sure dat when you get 36 youll still be playin games on your pc haha. That means youre mentally retarded as games are for the youth.
Hey listen, if you want to try (I stress the word "try") to re-ignite an argument that ended over one month ago with the embarrassment of a moron by a person with great intelligence, then please, be my guest. I have better things to do. Keep arguing if you want. Your only audience will be the tumbleweeds rolling past you.
With a 2Tb HDD why would I need to upgrade storage?
I can upgrade my RAM whenever I want, and all I need is a screwdriver. If someone needs more than 16GB of RAM, then they should be getting a professional Mac computer, Mac Pro.
What else could you want to upgrade? If your some PC gaming jackass then why the fuck would you go on a Mac video?!?! Are you fucking stupid?!?! iMacs are consumer computers not gaming computers!
look, most of the movie producers take an mac pro, because it's a supercomputer. Most musicians take a macbook (pro) because you can carry it everywhere and it's light and cool, and the people who are looking for a good computer for home take an iMac.
i gt the mbp (same dilema) think what u need it for and if u will use it for portability at all get the mbp, but the imac is a great choice. wait for a little bit because there are some rumors about a new imac soon :)
One of the things that sucks about Macs and PC's, as soon as you have bought the most top of the range unit. By next month it's outdated by something else. :(
You can nowadays...problem is that if you want to do real hardcore gaming then no, because you can't upgrade the GPU on an iMac for example...
So if you really want to game I would suggest building a nice gaming rig (you can build a "NICE" one for around $1200 or less) and then if you don't want to use Windows for everything you can just use it for games and make a second partition and use Linux for example, or get a second hard drive.
I went on dell today, and i looked up a PC tower. And i dont think your familiar with this game called "Empire:Total War" but my pc that i run right now the ram and graphic cards are to low to run it. i looked on Dell, i can get a PC tower under 1,300 dollars. and it has double the ram (4gig) and a kick ass NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 516Mb graphics card.
But i was hoping to get mac for my social life, its easier to do pictures, msn, videos, websites. but i guess im gonna go with the dell one.
I know that game, and trust me...the GT 120 is not a kickass graphics card, though it might be enough for that game.
If you'll be doing light gaming then the Mac will be nice for you, well some of the latest Windows games have made it to mac such as the latest Call of Duty games and such, but not all of them run with the best FPS on the iMacs unless you get the top ones which even then don't have an amazing GPU either (and as I mentioned before you can't upgrade them).
Thanks for the help. I can just ask you a question on my moms laptop it can run empire. but its laggy. is this because of the ram or the graphics card?
Is it something maybe like an ATI HD 4650 or something like that or less? and, what brand is the laptop and how much did it cost...
Maybe you should just consider a nice PC like I said and if it comes with a crappy GPU you could always upgrade it and it's very easy and can be quite cheap and if you know what you want.
So, A Dell laptop comes with a shit GPU while other laptops like Hp, Viao, Toshiba come with a good one. What if i wanted to buy a Desktop. Btw how do i upgrade GPU
So in my current PC i need to upgrade the Ram,Processor,GPU and graphics card and possibly the motherboard. wow. its like building a new computer. but i didnt seem to find GPU`s on tigerdirect. since i live in canada i usualy go to tigerdirect for my pc soloutions.
Well, to give you a few tips. You can't upgrade a GPU, however, you can upgrade the graphics card, which is a house for the GPU, thats why you did'nt find a GPU on TD.
Upgrading a processor is near impossible, because you need an exact match
However, the best advice I can give you, is if you want to upgrade your motherboard, CPU, GPU, graphics adapter, and ram, then you are better off buying a new PC. IF you want to upgrade just the processor and motherboard, your still better off buying new.
Thanks everyone for the help. but basicly i need to buy a Motherboard CPU,GPU and graphics card. well sounds easy. but theres one small little problem. I cant find any GPU's any suggestions for a new GPU.
Oh wait i got it wrong a GPU is part of the Graphics card. and the the better the graphics card and ram and processor the less lag i produce now its clear tyvm
Near impossible to replace? Processors use a system of common socket types dontchaknow?
Buying parts is a MUCH MUCH CHEAPER alternative to getting a new PC and is MUCH MORE RELIABLE than any of that weak BS Dell or HP would give you as stock.
Buying parts is not always cheaper. But you don't replace a GPU, there is just too many variables to check, and (most mainstream) GPU are soldered right to the graphics adapter.
Yes, your right, you can replace a central processor, but it must be with one in the same series (ie, i7 to i7, or PII to PII). And to replace it, it must be compatible with your RAM, bus, and 6 other things.
HAHA funny, lets start it up :L cool video :)

Yes, Macs wont ever touch PCs but did you ever stop and think thats because Macs are so far ahead? And btw, you seem to know a whole lot about dead iMacs (truckloads, in fact), so why don't you site your source?
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
"Macs wont ever touch PCs but did you ever stop and think thats because Macs are so far ahead?"
What in the FUCK are you TALKING about? HAHAHAHAHA!! That's a most RIDICULOUS statement I've ever heard! Overpriced, underperforming hardware means it'll FAIL every single time!
Oh, and by the way, I'd be real careful "upgrading" your system. I hear that pulling the back panel off the iMac automatically VOIDS your warranty.
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
No, a "RIDICULOUS" statement would be like the one you have just produced.
You idea of over priced is paying for something thats worth the money you just don't want it. Just because you don't want a 47" flat screen tv doesn't mean it's overpriced, it means you dont want it.
Next I can upgrade my RAM anytime I want without voiding my warranty
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
GREAT!
So tell me why I should pay $2499 for a 17" Macbook, when I can get an MSI GT720 for $999 with exactly the same specs.
Go on, smart guy! How do YOU justify $1500 more??? I can't WAIT to hear this.
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
I PM'd you the 17" MacBook Pro specs vs the GX720 "gaming computer" specs lol of course, you were wrong again as you see the 17" MBP is an overall better mobile computer, with a better battery life, i forgot to add. Do the upgraded specs of the MacBook Pro permit a value of $1,499 extra to be justified? I don't know, I don't want, nor do I need, a mobile computer in that spec range.
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
You PMed me with a joke comparison.
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
But, because I know you wont shut up if I don't address this ASUS computer, shall I begin?
Well you have compared just about all of the components of the ASUS, but like always you got at least one thing wrong. The ASUS has DDR2 memory which is a WHOLE lot lower than DDR3, DDR3 is a luxury. And on top of that it maxes out at 6GB and the MacBook pro maxes at 8GB. Next, "your" ASUS weighs 8.5 pounds! What's the point of a Laptop that weighs so much?
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
@iDiggMGL
i guess nobody told you that there is almost zero difference between DDR2 and DDR3. when DDR3 first came out it performed worse than DDR2 did, and the difference is still negligable. you are one of those guys who thinks bigger number means more power. it does not. Macs may have DDR3 but what are the latency timings? generic ram sucks in comparison to high perf-ram. i bet the latency timings in the Asus smoke the mac. you need more comptuer education
G37KILR 2 years ago
Now if your saying that his RAM is comparable to mine, then IDK what to say to you next because, you'll say whatever just to make it seem as if you know what your talking about.
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
On top of that it has a battery life of 2 hours which is flat-out UNEXCEPTABLE. Sure it has more power but the battery life defeats the purpose of having a laptop.
Apple will eventually announce MacBook Pros with Core 2 Quad processors, but Apple also has the longest lasting battery in any FULLY FUNCTIONING Laptop with 8 hours on a single charge, so although they may have less efficient processors, at least they will have batteries that'll last 5 hours, which is still more life than most PCs
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
17" Macbook Pro: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz - 1920x1200 max resolution 16:10 - GeForce 9400, 9600 - 4GB DDR3 - 500GB hard drive - 1.3 MP cam
ASUS G71GX-A2
Quad Core 9000 CPU - 1920x1200 max res (16:10) - GeForce GTX260M (1GB of RAM) - 6 Gigs of DDR3 RAM - 640GB of SATA hard drive space - 2.0 MP cam.
Care to argue further? :) Oh, and by the way, the MSI GT720 has 4GB of RAM, not 2GB, but nice try!
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
You really need to learn to pay attention to detail.
First of all, you're the moron once again for not reading what I said. I said, I don't know if the subtle, but none the less real, upgrades justified the price.
Second, That MSI computer maxes out at 4GB, but it only comes with 2GB of DDR2 memory.
Third, I don't believe that you have this ASUS computer because I think you would have used it as your first laptop example if you knew the specs. Stop BS-ing
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
Uhhhhh, no........I bought the MSI GT720 for my wife. I bought the G71GX-A2 for myself. Thinking I don't own it doesn't change the situation. The NEW G71GX-A2 includes DDR2 (for reasons I can't fathom), not the model that came out 8 months ago. I can upgrade the RAM in the ASUS to 12GB, easily. About the weight......you need to work out a bit more, because 8 pounds ain't a lot of weight.
Face it......your Macs are overpriced junk. Try as you might to believe otherwise. Go ahead.
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
MacBooks outsell "your" laptop, why???
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
"Unless your motherboard supports both ddr2 and ddr3 it's a mute point you can't put ddr3 in ddr2. If your thinking about upgrading motherboards and processor then go with ddr3, but not worth the money for small amount of performance increase just for faster memory."
"The key to remember is that memory is seldom the bottleneck in any system. The only reason to get memory with higher speeds is so that you can overclock your processor, and get a little performance boost from your memory. "
G37KILR 2 years ago
Nicely put, dude. That's very true. Unless you can verify the RAM timings, they mean nothing. I seem to remember the Intel Q9700 CPU going up against a CPU of lesser number, and it did poorly. Numbers don't mean everything.
As for my ASUS, my particular model is DDR3. They changed the A2 somewhere down along the line and omitted DDR3, plus the small LED readout on the surface of the laptop near the hotkeys (God knows why). The current website model is NOT my model.
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
indeed yes Max. your laptop is a beast and you paid less and i totally get the point you were trying to make. idiggMGL wants to go on about battery life which means nothing, i also have a powerful laptop and i don't care about battery life as I dont sit in coffee shops all day long. 2 hours life is fine for me and the rest of the time i just plug it in. it doesn't bother me. besides you could always buy a stronger 3rd party battery too
G37KILR 2 years ago
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
@MaximusCerberus
agreed. i am wiling to sacrifice battery life for maximum power :)
G37KILR 2 years ago
Yes, unfortunately some people are willing to sacrifice maximum power for battery life.....while paying through the nose for it. *Sigh* There's nothing more sad than watching a sucker fall victim to a scam, hook line and sinker.
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
Paying through the nose? Really? You disappoint me on so many different levels. Who has a job anymore? You'll find that a lot of Mac users still rock their G5s, wanna know why? Invest in a Mac and you'll receive performance that goes above and beyond an above average PC.
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
You got RAPED, kid.
I suggest you "except" it......and learn how to spell while you're at it.
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
HAHA your are THE typical arrogant/moronic/asshole PC user lol. And what did I spell wrong, "except?" I spelled "except" the same way you did, the right way. Unfortunately, in your head you spelled it wrong too?
Holy crap, I know why you hate Macs now! Young people like Macs (you aren't young). Us kids and our fancy technology, you think to yourself. Give up old man, just because half your life is gone doesn't mean you take it out on the youth. Especially when the youth just kicked your ass.
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
uhhh you didnt kick anybodys ass there son. his computer and his laptop both have more power than anything you can muster so i wouldn't talk about technology. funny kid tho :)
G37KILR 2 years ago 2
LOL the youth kicked your ass too! You didn't make ANY kind of rebuttal to what I said, none. Oh wait, you graduated a LONG TIME ago. So you never took a computer to school? Did they have portable computers called "laptops" back in the day? I go to school for 9 hours straight and I need the best battery possible and MacBook Pro is KING.
Oh ya, and my Quad Core i7 iMac is more powerful then MOST consumer PCs, probably even yours.
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
@iDiggMGL
"Give up old man, just because half your life is gone doesn't mean you take it out on the youth. Especially when the youth just kicked your ass."
Show some RESPECT you little shit, I guess your father failed miserably at teaching you manners!
All that you are doing is showing how ARROGANT and PRETENTIOUS a mac user is, jeez what an ass you are! Giving a Mac user a bad rap.
What you need is an beating, YOU don't NEED shit, or DESERVE it for that matter with that kind of attitude!
CriticShrute 1 year ago
First of all, your channel says your 18, and I'm in no position to be taking advice from anyone who isn't knowledgeable.
Second, looks like your from a time where fathers teach the lessons and mothers just cook and clean, right? Get over yourself. 1) My mother taught me respect to people, who deserve it. 2) Young or old respect is something earned, not given as a gift.
iDiggMGL 1 year ago
3) if you were smart enough to READ THE ENTIRE CONVERSATION GOING ON BELOW, you'd have seen that the person I was talking to deserves no respect, AT ALL. I'm a very opinionated person and I don't give the slightest shit if you don't know what "arrogant" really means, or "pretentious," for that matter.
And btw, I'm no "Mac user," I'm a person. "What you need ia an beating..." get the fuck out of here with that shit!
iDiggMGL 1 year ago
I get double what you get with 4 pounds less and no charger or extra batteries. I can actually use my mobile computer, as a mobile computer. Imagine that.
Yes I get 8 hours easily with my MacBook Pro, on full settings 5 hours which is on par with Apples 5+ hour claim. Playing CoD4 I get 3-3 1/2 hours, which is much longer still.
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
Battery, LIFE, MEANS, NOTHING? ARE YOU FUCKED UP ON DOPE? Battery life means EVERYTHING in a portable computer, WTF? Who the wants to carry around 3 batteries to equal ONE MacBook Pro charge? You may say, "i don't need that many batteries because I alway have it connected to an outlet." Well guess what, I go to school and have to carry a ton of book daily with my MacBook Pro. Are you saying that an 8 pound laptop with a 2 pound charger is a REAL LIFE ALTERNATIVE? Really, think about it.
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
i don't know dude, i graduated school a long time ago so i don't need to sit in class all day :) i'm out there working
G37KILR 2 years ago
1. We are talking about Laptops. Since when could you choose your motherboards on a laptop???
2. With DDR3 speeds of 1600 MBPS (not MHz), who would choose DDR3 over DDR2? Hmmm, that's a thinker.
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
Oh and by the way, your point with the GT720 was that it had the EXACT SAME specs as the 17" MacBook Pro, and it didn't, so you were wrong.
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
As for having the exact same specs....they're both 17" laptops with a dual-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and 512MB video cards.
Despite the ridiculously subtle differences you posted....it STILL doesn't justify anything but a $300 price increase.
So, where's the extra $1200 going? THE CASE??? I'll PRAY that you're joking! If you honestly believe that the Mac is going to pull triple the numbers of the MSI, you're delusional. They'd practically be neck-and-neck.
You nitpick. I post facts.
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
3. You are a typical PC user who hates Macs, so I know you'll lie a whole lot.
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
And as far as the $1,200 monitor, I said that, that monitor plus an i7 computer comes out to be more than an iMac. If you want I'll show you the custom parts I picked to prove this.

Samsung, Intel, completely own Apple technologically speaking.
You are talking about OLED, SSD, 30 NM RAM.
Do you know who supplies Apple with the tech?
That's right Samsung. So shut your trap before you spill your retarded ignorance.
LoneGunman2000 2 years ago
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
@MaximusCerberus You've obviously never used a mac before given the inaccuracy of this post.
Anavengertg 2 years ago
So the 8-core Mac Pro DOESN'T offer 512MB video cards, is that what you're saying.
Sorry, but my comments are 100% accurate, and 100% correct. Thinking otherwise does not make it so.
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
I'm talking about the part where you're saying the mac is inferior just because it does not use the highest parts. What macs give you is superior user experience with a well selected combination of software and hardware. You'll never get this because your bias clouds your judgement
Anavengertg 2 years ago
There's nothing significant or advantageous about their hardware.......PERIOD. It's obsolete straight out of the box, utilizing 2 (and sometimes 5) year old hardware for a stupid price tags.
I'll "never get this?" What a shame that I can handpick all of my parts and build a super-powerful computer that trounces any Mac 5 times over for $500-$1500 less.
Nothing clouds my judgment, least of all bias. I'm simply too smart for Apple.
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
Lol it's actually very funny that you and other Apple haters hate it that a group of people could actually love the computers that they've chosen to work with.
2-5 Years behind? You're definitely on crack.
Anavengertg 2 years ago
I bought my first 512MB video card in 2004, kid.
2-5 years behind. Case closed. Mac users are naive fools.
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
Lol you bought "a" 512MB card. A bigger number does not mean it's better. You're being duped by the number myth.
Anavengertg 2 years ago
HAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha!!!
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
Oh sure it can. But you cannot find a game that would be able to take advantage of the GTX295, especially for a mac. So why bother?

Software is over-rated for sure. Hardware is obviously more important
joaharu 2 years ago
what is so great about an imac? It's so expensive, and the monitor is either an LG or Samsung.
If I want an all in one device, I'd rather get an HP or Dell. It's mcuh cheaper with the same performance.
joaharu 2 years ago
They're not that much cheaper and they don't have the same performance because they're running windows, Mac OS X runs way better on lower spec hardware

ECFilms123456789 2 years ago
Check your shit retard, there isn't a single dell/hp all-in-one with the same specs as the iMac. And to even get to something close to what the iMac can do you end up paying more. For a Mac computer this scenario would be fine because you're paying for a unique experience, but for a dell?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. And you say the display is a LG or Samsung? Your proof?
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
There are plenty of Dells and HPs with the same......or BETTER specs than the iMac. Where have you been looking???
The only you're paying for with Mac are the fashion gimmicks. Sorry, but dead-end hardware and zero upgradeability at a ridiculous price makes for an all-around SHIT computer.
And besides, nobody smart buys a store-bought computer. They build their own from scratch or buy from an enthusiast company. Mentioning Dell proves that you're computer illiterate.
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
You stupid idiotic biased moron, I wasn't talking to you! Second, if you bothered to read my fucking comment I SAID "there isn't a single dell/hp all-in-one with the same specs as the iMac." Stop being an asshole to everybody here and just shut the fuck up!
And guess what dickhead the majority of PC users buy computers from dell and hp so I guess most PC users are brainless idiots LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL FUCK OFF!!!!!!!!
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
Hahahahahaha! What a temper!
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
You stupid idiotic biased moron! Once again, let us review what I said. This time I'll just restate the sentence all together (I'll even space out the sentence so it'll have a better chance of penetrating your soft head).
There is not an "ALL-IN-ONE" dell or hp that has the
same or better specs than the iMac. This is all about
an ALL-IN-ONE computer. NOT A TOWER COMPUTER.
And I'd like you to find a 27" 2650x1440 display with ips for
cheap. lol Your illiteracy.....
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
No smart person is going to be a so-called "all in one" computer that has ZERO room for upgradeability and absolutely no future. That's your "all in one."
You also didn't read my previous comment. You can buy a 30" monitor with 2560x1600 resolution (kicks the mac's ass) and STILL come out well under the price of the iMac, with tons of room for upgradeability.
Are you going to swear and scream at me some more? There's no point. You've lost this "debate."
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
Here's where we're at, because you can't seem to grasp that there is no debate here, just me telling you facts. I said that the iMac is the best spec'd all-in-one computer (And I wasn't even saying that to you, by the way). You said "no," and brought up tower PCs.......That's not a debate, that's your idiocy shining it's brightest.
That 30" monitor costs $1,600. With the addition of a $700 tower PC, it's $2,300. That is more than the i7 iMac and you get cheap cases and components.
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
No, that 30" monitor is $1,100..........CANADIAN!! That means it's even CHEAPER in the States. Which means that I'm right, you're WRONG.
That's your idiocy shining it's brightest.
As for "cheap cases and components," who do you think manufacturers the components in the iMac? APPLE???????? Well I'll PRRRRRRRRRRAY that you're joking!
The same companies that build parts for PCs build parts for Macs.
They just put more powerful components in PCs. ANOTHER bloody nose for you!
MaximusCerberus 2 years ago
Ok first off, what is the exact name of the monitor genius? Because I looked up 30" monitor and saw nothing under $1,600 WITH IPS. Your dumbass never told me what brand monitor it was. My guess? Your just bullshitting.
Second, do you really assemble your own computers? Because your incedibly ignorant comment threw me off. I said "YOUR" computer had toilet parts. You probably just put the cheapest generic parts together that look like a pile of wires with 50 fans connected to it. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
iDiggMGL 2 years ago
Samsung 305T 30" monitor with 2560x1600 resolution........cost? $1,192.99 Canadian dollars at Compu2000.
Fucking HURTS, doesn't it kiddo? As for "IPS," if you want to buy an overpriced junk-can of a computer just because you're too lazy to bump your monitor up and down by 1/4 inch, that's YOUR prerogative.

Im thinking of getting a imac. But i want to know is there pc games that are compatible with mac?
barod1 2 years ago
There are quite a few actually, but you can always use bootcamp and install Windows without any problems.
MoonOvIce 2 years ago
then i can run windows games? on a apple computer?
Nice
barod1 2 years ago

But i was hoping to get mac for my social life, its easier to do pictures, msn, videos, websites. but i guess im gonna go with the dell one.
barod1 2 years ago
I know that game, and trust me...the GT 120 is not a kickass graphics card, though it might be enough for that game.
If you'll be doing light gaming then the Mac will be nice for you, well some of the latest Windows games have made it to mac such as the latest Call of Duty games and such, but not all of them run with the best FPS on the iMacs unless you get the top ones which even then don't have an amazing GPU either (and as I mentioned before you can't upgrade them).

Thanks for the help. I can just ask you a question on my moms laptop it can run empire. but its laggy. is this because of the ram or the graphics card?
barod1 2 years ago
Could be both...
Could you be more specific? the specs maybe? how much ram does it have and what GPU does it have?
MoonOvIce 2 years ago
see, the game needs i belive 2 gigs of ram to run and a 256mb graphics card.
my moms laptop has i belive 3 gigs of ram and 756mb graphics card.
barod1 2 years ago
Sometimes the GPU may have more video ram than required, but it all depends on which GPU it is.
Do you know by any chance if it's one of Intel's solutions? or is it ATI, NVIDIA maybe?
When did your mom buy the laptop? ram is okay but I have to know what GPU specifically your mom's laptop has.
MoonOvIce 2 years ago
honestly im not sure. we bought my moms laptop like a few months ago.
barod1 2 years ago
Is it something maybe like an ATI HD 4650 or something like that or less? and, what brand is the laptop and how much did it cost...
Maybe you should just consider a nice PC like I said and if it comes with a crappy GPU you could always upgrade it and it's very easy and can be quite cheap and if you know what you want.
MoonOvIce 2 years ago
the laptop is a inspiron and it cost like 700-800 dollars. I think im gonna get a XPS. Btw what is a GPU? Graphich Processing unit? or something
barod1 2 years ago
Graphics Processing Unit, yeah.
For a laptop to come with a decent GPU to be able to play modern games that will usually cost around $1000 and up.
If you must get a laptop then don't get Dell, get something like an HP or Sony Vaio or Toshiba.
MoonOvIce 2 years ago
So, How do i know if it has a good Graphics Processing unit? Do i check something. Btw thanks for the helf.
barod1 2 years ago
The laptop should have some sticker or something when you open it up...
...and no problem.
MoonOvIce 2 years ago
so if it has a good GPU it doesnt lagg. and what not
barod1 2 years ago
Exactly...
MoonOvIce 2 years ago
So, A Dell laptop comes with a shit GPU while other laptops like Hp, Viao, Toshiba come with a good one. What if i wanted to buy a Desktop. Btw how do i upgrade GPU
barod1 2 years ago
Dells lack graphics wise, and computer wise. Dells are just the Apple of Windows, you pay for the name.
You cannot upgrade a GPU, unless you built a PC, and you have a reusable GPU socket.
HelloWaffle 2 years ago
So in my current PC i need to upgrade the Ram,Processor,GPU and graphics card and possibly the motherboard. wow. its like building a new computer. but i didnt seem to find GPU`s on tigerdirect. since i live in canada i usualy go to tigerdirect for my pc soloutions.
barod1 2 years ago
Well, to give you a few tips. You can't upgrade a GPU, however, you can upgrade the graphics card, which is a house for the GPU, thats why you did'nt find a GPU on TD.
Upgrading a processor is near impossible, because you need an exact match
However, the best advice I can give you, is if you want to upgrade your motherboard, CPU, GPU, graphics adapter, and ram, then you are better off buying a new PC. IF you want to upgrade just the processor and motherboard, your still better off buying new.
HelloWaffle 2 years ago
Thanks everyone for the help. but basicly i need to buy a Motherboard CPU,GPU and graphics card. well sounds easy. but theres one small little problem. I cant find any GPU's any suggestions for a new GPU.
ps. its cheaper to do this instead of new pc
barod1 2 years ago
Oh wait i got it wrong a GPU is part of the Graphics card. and the the better the graphics card and ram and processor the less lag i produce now its clear tyvm
barod1 2 years ago
Near impossible to replace? Processors use a system of common socket types dontchaknow?
Buying parts is a MUCH MUCH CHEAPER alternative to getting a new PC and is MUCH MORE RELIABLE than any of that weak BS Dell or HP would give you as stock.
STOP SPREADING MISINFORMATION YOU FANBOY
radicalgarbage02 2 years ago
I'm currently using a built PC, running U9.10A6
Buying parts is not always cheaper.
Why don't you stop being misinformed, you fanboy.

To my knowledge all EA games are Mac compatible but like the other comments state, you can always dual boot with mac os and vista/7
