I met Loren Coleman last summer at his museum. I basically bombarded him with a dozen or so questions (as a skeptic) and he accused me of being with the Skeptic Inquirer. Now I know why. LOL!
@ShdwSephiroth Then someone should build a gate that blocks off the ocean and then drain the lake. But then again, as Loren said, the monster could be gone at that time, so we'll never know for sure...
I would dearly LOVE there to be a large unknown animal [or group] in Loch Ness, I really don't think that it is going to happen. This video [like most others] simply shows a dark shadow of indeterminate size and indeterminate origin!
"In 2003, the BBC sponsored a full search of the Loch using 600 separate sonar beams and satellite tracking. The search had enough resolution to pick up a small buoy. No animal of any substantial size was found whatsoever and despite high hopes, the scientists involved in the expedition admitted that this essentially proved the Loch Ness monster was only a myth"
ppl isnt it more fun if you just let it be a mistery? dont mess with it ther might be a monster so what it could be a dinasour or my mother on wednesday just leaf it alone
Didn't Loren Coleman say that he found evidence of fairies? If so, that guy's a total nut. But I still believe in The Loch Ness Monster. IT (Not they) is from a breed of genetically mutated plesiosaurs that were able to survive for extreme amounts of time. (1000's of years.) The breed has survived this long, but Nessie is the final survivor. When it dies, they're gone... My fingers are numb. It's cold in here...
@ChickenVendetta Huh? Nessie is the last one? Ever heard of: Champ? Cressie? Chessie? Pinky? Nagga? Ogopogo? Igopogo? Or the Nessie like monster that attacked four kids and ate three of them? Mutation? Really? The species only had to avoid humans for about 4,000 years after the Global Flood.
@lilmurfer exactly and also at the time it was taking There were no beavers in Britain(well scotland anyway) they have only just been reintroduced into the ecosystem, as for otters dont think there is any except for the Otter Lodge...
Nice to see some one like Joe Nikell to bring a good, sane explanation to this Loch Ness nonsense. I know it doesn't satisfy a believer who still seems to think there is a creature there even without a viable breeding population and dead animals washing up on the shore.
I find the idea that they may not live completely in the Loch believable. I also think that it wouldn't be abnormal to see a sighting from another lake because some other lakes also lead to the ocean like Loch Ness does. And I wanna say, I like the guy who studies nonexistent animals. Because I like mythical creatures- they're a huge chunk of my favorite memories of my childhood.
@JohnMcain69 Firts off I am not a strong believer in cryptozoological animals. What are you talking about?!? Just cus you think this field is ridiculous or something, why do you say he has a "sick fascination with young boys!" I mean like wtf where did that come from. You are the liar!

i have a question how long did a individual dinosaur live 10 years or 500 years
and what if when it knew it was going to die it just went to one of the underwater caves
and when people are searching in boat the lochness monster could hear it and hide. I have watched alot of shows that have search for it and i've never seen more then 0-10 boats on the lake it would be easy to hear a boat coming
i love that this bald retard uses words like 'conjure' and 'elaborate' .........all the while he's cashing in on the sales of his book too...douchebag..
It is videos like this that have prompted me to change my beliefs in Nessie to believing that it is not a monster or anything of the sort. I came to this change when I asked myself the question: "If this was any other lake in the world, would this video mean anything?" When I answered "no" then I had to discard all of these "new and exciting" videos of... bubbles. Now, if Nessie farted, that is news.
I call on you all to re-think whether you take what Mr coleman says as fact or good opinion. As a little test, try and question (perfectly politely please, don't be abusive to him unnecessarily) any of his so-called findings or beliefs, you will quickly meet the real, selfish and completely arrogant Loren Coleman that many of us have had the unfortunate chance to meet in person. He then goes on to moan about how people don't listen to him if he disagrees with them, such a hypocrate.
Let me preface this by saying that Loren is somewhat of a hero of mine. However, as I understand it, the Loch's inlet/outlet to the Atlantic on Scotland's eastern end is a) dammed to a degree that it would preclude they passage of any animal large enough to account for the more notable sightings and b) so shallow and and narrow that said passage would easily reveal the creature if as it tried to enter/exit the Loch.
When you said we should believe in something when it is proven if this was to happen no-one would believe init which means no-one would go out looking for it. Its just the same in religion theres no proof god exists yet people still believe in it.
i dnt believe it in to but what im trying to say is that if no one believed in it and there was sightings ppl would try and think of a logical explaination to try a disprove of it exsitans if that in anyway makes sense.
canklad12: Errr..we should never believe. Belief has nothing to do with facts and proof. And, no. there is no god. Only a belief in God. People just don't understand that simple concept. At least in the US.
Thank you for saying something so fucking ignorant and blind that it has pissed me off.
There is not a single thing wrong with people having beliefs. Belief breeds discovery, Facts come from discovery.
Benjamin Franklin believed in electricity when it was not a fact.
You think religion is only in the states eh? Good job. I believe you overlooked the entire fucking planet and focused only on us. I hold a strong belief that you are just another cock sucker trying to be superior
Loren isn't being skeptical enough. We have plumbed the depths of oceans in many areas and have found some really crazy creatures, but not-a-one like Nessie. This, and the lack of any clear photo or video evidence, should clearly illustrate that this creature is a figment of the imagination. There are logical explanations and Coleman ignores them everytime, determined instead to continue the mystery.
By jumping to the conclusion that a breeding population could exist in the ocean and enter the Loch temporarily, Coleman is simply moving the goal post to keep the mystery alive. There is no compelling evidence for the existence of a heretofore unknown creature in the Loch, or any other lake for that matter. All you have to do is look at the long history of anecdotal evidence, and the incredible lack of physical evidence. Stories. That's all.
Hey Paula ; 29 days in a row you were checking for the Loch ness monster? There's a war on you know...people are dying... Also; that infamous pic of the so called monster is really one of the trunk of an carnival elephant swimming by its edge...
Also If It Does Lead Into The Ocean Some How Block That Part Of Or Something So They Would Just Drain The lake Water. If Someone Offered Me $100,000 Bucks To Swim In Lochness Like way Far Out And Back I Would Turn Them Down I Dont Even Think I Would Stick My Hand In The Water LOL That How Chicken I Am....
Heres What I Think, I Think That They Should Get A Crew And Build Like 20 Or 40 Water Towers Around The Lake, Then Get A Very Big Vaccuum Type Hose And Drain The Lake Into The Water Towers To Solve The Mystery Of Nessie Then Dump All Of The Water Back In. It Sounds A Little Stupid But It Could Be Possible If Someone Had The Time And Money To Throw Into That....
problem with this is there is caves inside the loch ness under the water in the deepest parts which are like 700ft deep fair doos search thm but yeh and it wud b next to impossible to drain it its like 20 miles long 1 mile wide and at its deepest 700ft as ive sed

Im not saying theres a real nessie monster thing im just saying there could be a fucking giant eel.
They discovered a fucking new life form in lake loch (FACT!!! ITS BEEN PROVEN!!! THERE WAS A FUCKING NEW LIFE FORM DISCOVERED IN THE LAKE IN 2001) so how much harder is it to believe theres a big eel. Jesus christ can you explain how this is fake? The guy zooms out in the un edited video and that shows there is nothing towing it.
Nobody was questioning the authenticity of the video, just whether or not the thing in the video was a freakin' lake monster. Joe Nichols didn't say the image in the video was an otter, but that a lot of sightings have been misappropriated to otters - so it's likely it's something else. Also, eels are deep-dwelling animals, they prefer the bottom layer of the ocean/lakes.
If any of you have seen that other video on youtube of these scientists researching the lake and shit. There was a logical explanation. They said that eels live in freshwater than go to the sea to give birth and die. But some eels are sterile and do not go to the sea and they continue to get bigger. The footage is of some ell looking object thing hwo is it hard to believe there could be a giant eel.
It's amusing how the cryptozoologist tries to steer clear of that belief question and ends up making a statement completely irrelevant to the question. Belief has a lot to do with religion? Yes, but that doesn't mean that religion is the only thing you can believe in. You can believe many things, including that something is true or that something is false, which is sort of what the interviewer was asking when she compared his apparent doubts to the hopes of Nessie believers.
