  • She really twirls this one around!! And "The Diva Series" CD is a wonderful collection of her tunes...definitely worht it. Thanks for posting!

  • Wow...!

  • The Lee Morgan Sextet (1956) plays that second chorus melody, so does Benny Golson, further on in his own interpretation. Anita is amazing, how she can make this tricky line sing, and the words sound like a conversation.

  • Anita's second chorus, is that vocalese on an improvised chorus? By Benny Golson, or somebody else? She's doing it fabulous.

  • @OrganGrinderLola I don't think so, it's the same on Art Blakey's recording and was on sheet music. .

  • @OrganGrinderLola Yes, Bryt25's right — that section is called the "shout chorus" and is usually included in versions of this great tune.

  • Voice like a sweet saxo

  • I knew and dug Anita. Real jazz singer, not a commercial hack as most of them, even Peggy.

  • On piano Gene Harris, bass Andy Simpkins, drums Bill Dowdy. 1962.

  • amazing ! does anybody know who the pianist is ?

  • Great version!

  • great version love Anitas voice thanks for posting

  • definately worth a listen, thanks for the post i have been looking for anita's version. simply amazing when she sings the "solo" on the "c" section.

  • thanks for upload it!!! i love this song!!! 5*

  • i'm not crazy about anita o'day's voice and ornemental scatting (i loved her when i was 18), but this version of her idol, billie holiday's i cover the waterfront is ... sublime ... hope you like it, pierrino
