@floor121 i dont think so, iron is a mineral and not a chemical. chemical being an unnatural mix of ingredients. just my 2cents.

In Australia there are laws to protect children against drowing. Are these tanks easily padlocked? Think your system is a terricic one, if safe for children.

@houseuponarock Murray says his timber lids are very heavy to lift open being constructed from Australian hardwood timbers. Small children will struggle to lift the lid open.

Your fish have security problem, cover the water surface to reduce stress.

Potassium, calcium and iron are easily added. Potassium and calcium are added when buffering the pH. pH tends to drift down in a well balanced aquaponic system so when buffering the pH these two elements are taken care of.

Potassium is the boogabear in AP as I've found.
