  • The last 30 or so seconds of this song are sublime. Read once where Peter Gabriel called it the most perfect pop song he every heard.

  • Cheap Trick never got to see them live but their videos are a blast! Thanks for sharing!

  • cheap trick in thr R & R Hall of Fame

  • This song should have millions more views...

  • cheap trick late 70's early 80's klasssiks

  • A fantastic album and great song! How is Cheap Trick not in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame?

  • good question it is pathetic that they are not there rick nielsen is one of the greatest pop song writers of all time robin zander is in a class by himself as singers go a great musical influence on me as a young man ..tom petersson , what can you say the man invented the 12 string bass..enough said..and bun well he is the most underatted drummer of all time ..he rocks...the new album is incredible maybe these guys will finally get their do..long live cheap trick!

  • @zuck21- Perfectly said. Thanks! It's true that Rick, Robin & Tom are Class musicians by themsevles. I would like to add Bun E's own quality as an underrated drummer. Bun E understand's his musical equipment and if you guys noticed, he can make the the snare, the small & big tom-toms, the bass drum and his cymbals come alive by making them sound like they're supposed to. (Listen to the FLAME's studio version & hear the true sound of a snare drum). CT is a bunch of musical geniuses in one!

  • I agree Cheap Trick are an incredible band.

  • Rockford, Ill. late 70's and early 80's pure Americana

  • 19 friggin 80 !!!

  • Cheap Trick should be invited to play half time at the Superbowl

  • Great idea, but I think that it too would be under appreciated by those that have no idea about this band!

  • Underrated classic!

  • omg the drummer is really too cool

  • Does anyone know if someone has uploaded You Send The Rain Away by Rebbie Jackson feat. Robin Zander to Youtube recently?

  • Saw Cheap Trick in '75 opened for Rainbow....in '78 opened for Foghat...saw them play at Indre Studios in Philly....and saw them at The Village...a local bar in Lancaster PA.

    Great melodic rock band.

  • Love Cheap Trick...I woke up and remembered. And LOVE LONG HAIR ON MEN!!!

  • These guys never bore me. I got turned on in 1980ish and they still ROCK!

  • one of the best bands of all time...Rick Nielsen is a guitar god with an incredible stage presence

  • True story: I met my future husband because I thought I saw him at a Cheap Trick concert (Billy Bob's, Fort Worth Texas, 2003). I saw his dead ringer, anyway. We worked at the same company. I emailed him to find out if it was he. It wasn't, but we hit it off, started dating, and yes, eventually went to see Cheap Trick in concert together.

  • i love that 70s sound and so glad i saw em last year with def leppard

  • Gotta love how Rick flips himself off. :o)

  • I use to fall asleep listing to this album back in Jr. High. This was by far the best album they made.

  • Awesome song!! 5*****

Love all of Cheap Tricks songs!!

  • Dream Police album.. Great tunes man!!!.

  • Awesome song!!! 5*****

Love all of Cheap Tricks songs!!

  • Robin and Tom's face just look good together, that is probably why they share a mic :-)

  • I agree 100%! xD

  • One of the best rock bands ever. This song is unbelievable! Robin Zander's exclusion from Rolling Stone magazine's "100 Greatest Voices in Music" issue was utterly inexcusable.

  • I am going to see them in Elgin Il on 12/12 at the Cultural arts Center. It is has about 1000 seats. Last time I saw them was at UW:Whitewater in '75. Only thing I remember was some great Beatles covers...I will remember everything next month...I am pumped.

  • Sounds awesome

  • This drumer is a legend!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why doesn't Tom ever seem to get his own microphone?

  • Why doesn't Tom ever seem to get his own microphone?

  • Fucking long live Cheap Trick!! Awesome!!

  • CHEAP TRICK with very good inspiration.

"Way of the World" is one of the best.

A strong track. Video is well

  • Any song by Cheap Trick during this era is no miss!!!!!!!!!! They were at their height. Mixed with a great producer, Tom Werman, who understood them and got some of the best music ever. My kids are 8 and 12, bass and guitar player, and rock out to Cheap Trick. Time comes and goes. Great melody, playing, and songs do not change. Fuck the radio and the Britney Spears, rap, excusem me while I puke artists. Go with me here. Any Cheap Trick fans out there who do not love the triumvirat.

  • The bass player is Jerry Seinfeld with long hair!

  • If the bass player is Seinfeld then Rick must be Cosmo...:-)

  • I grew up in Rockford, IL and can honestly say that one of the most pleasant surprises I've ever had was finding out that I'm distantly related to Rick Nielsen! No, I've never met him at a family reunion or anything. I understand that I'm related to him through marriage - one of my Grandma's relatives is married to someone in Nielsen's family. The relationship may not be close, but it's there. And as a longtime Cheap Trick fan, I just love it!

  • Tom...

    Spell that "h-o-t-t".

  • Tom Petersson...

    H-O-T-T!!!!!!

  • I love this song.I'm luvin' it ...years since I've heard it, thank you for the post.(my son is still jumpin'): ) he's 4yo.thanks again-feverdog.

  • Tom and Robin are soo good looking I'm sorry haha but they also have like the best voices i have ever heard!

  • god i forgot how fucking good these guys were/are...i love this song

  • Robin is probably close to 60 and looks like hes in his 30s. Probably in the top 5 rock singers of all time. One of the few who sound better live than on the record and he has been doing it for over 30 yrs. If you have never seen them live, go! Met Robin and Rick a couple of times and they are real down to earth nice midwestern guys. Just cant say enough good things about this band. Amazing.

  • There are Gods in America.

    They live in Rockford, IL.

  • Cheap Trick has been a part of my life for 31 years now. I bought every album, saw them 10+ times. They are the best band ever!

    Rick's alright!

  • arguably the best song on this album, after the title cut.

Why they never played this live is still one of my biggest wtf's with this band.

I just remembered that Rick's bug-eyes used to scare me.

  • It just doesn't get any cooler than Cheap Trick!

  • The best song they ever did !!

  • I wish I could jump through my laptop and and on Robin in this video! Buah!

  • One of the greatest American rock bands, and probably the best rock singer of all time.

  • this is a killer tune, I love this album!!!!!

  • Bun E Carlos cracks me up , great deadpan stage presence

  • Voice strong as ever!!!

  • Fat and Gross? Not sure what your criteria is, but Robin is looking way HOT. Remember these guys have been touring since 1974.

They all look good and sound great!

  • This is such a great song. It really sounds like a Beatles song. I just wish Rick Nielsen didn't flip off the judge (being himself).

  • Wow, does that bring back memories. I was about 13 when Cheap Trick was huge, and I could write out their logo -- with all the little typographical glitches -- perfectly by memory. My parents had a fit when I got a T-shirt that said Cheap Trick on it, as they felt I was saying I was a cheap whore. I had a huge crush on Robin and Tom... Now I'm getting old and Robin is fat and gross (gee, I am too!). Time is cruel.

  • Robin is FAT & GROSS??!! My friend you obviously haven't Trick lately. RZ FAT & GROSS??!! Hardly. He still looks and sounds great for his age. Trick is still playing around 100 gigs a year. When you play that much, getting rusty and "fat" isn't part of the mix. Go see'em this summer with Journey and Heart. They still can outplay bands half their age. Don't believe me, go see them. I am on 25 July 08 in San Antonio Texas. And yes I am READY TO ROCK!!

    Cheap Trick

    Cheap Trick

  • Well, I saw them on TV last year and I thought he looked SCARY, and I didn't think they sounded good at all. Made my heart sink.

  • Fat and Gross? Time is cruel? What are you talking about? Maybe for some, but not Robin Zander. Last recent video I saw he was wearing a sleevless Cheap Trick shirt and looking pretty HOT! Remember, these guys have been touring since 1974. Let's give them credit where its deserved.

  • I know getting old can be a strange spectre

but really we get better and better- so that we go so many light years beyond in so many ways- its really good to have musical friends to share the connection. As far as looks, the ones that love us still lust for our love, and that's what counts. I know you know, i'm just reminding you. Children really are fascists, and if they grow up still being fascists- then there is alot of work to do!

In my opinion culture, etiquette, and charm is fascism.grow

  • I saw them live 4 days ago and I can tell you that Robin is certainly not fat and gross!

  • One of their strongest tracks and kind of a swan song to the classic Cheap Trick era -got Dream Police for X-mas when I was a kid--15 years later I rediscovered it in a box in the basement-musty but still playable --this song became my favorite.

  • LOVE this band! I really do not remember this song in particular as when I was a quite younger in the late 70's. Great song.

I so want to see them this summer as they are touring with Journey and Heart.

  • What an awesome band!

  • Great Song :-)

  • とってもいいー、最高です。

    是非、携帯のMy Tubeモバイルにも乗せてください。

  • I'll second that!

  • I've been listening to Cheap Trick since I was nine, I'm 40 now and never, ever get sick of their "sound" Cheap Trick Rocks

  • I agree with Trishc40a. For almost 30 years I've been listening this band and every day I love it more and more !!!

  • me 3!

  • Such a great band !! and such a great song !!

    LONG LIVE CHEAP TRICK !!

  • never seen them no one in my family likes them cept me im only 14 no way ill ever be able to see them want to REALLY bad lol

  • Saw them live in 1979 they really rocked my world, and they still do!!!

  • not enough people like this band like they should be appreciated. sooooo good, cant wait to see them!

  • anyone got the house is rockin with domestic problems?,another cheap trick song

  • ahh the 80's you got to love it

  • can't wait until you get older and people mock your time--idiots abound here

  • Cheap Trick RULES!!!

  • great song

  • i didnt understand how some of thier 80's stuff was totally overlooked. I liked Standing on the Edge as much as I did Dream Police. But thats just me.

  • agree 100 percent thunder.....

  • I remember the drummer smoking all the time and playing with huge super size drumsticks.

  • This band is coming to Japan to play a special show at the Budokan.

  • one of my favorate songs of my youth.

  • I love this song!

    Really great band!

  • Fuckin great band.Should be better known. Not I want you... for the millionth time.

  • THANK YOU thunders....how about auf weidersein??? or anything from black and white or heaven tonight???

  • omg that was so funny at the beginning. they had the catchiest rock songs.

  • this song is a bit of immense high school nostalgia. i bought dream police on vinyl the day it came out.

but my real question, as a guitar-geek is this: is rick actually playing a strat with a lefty-body but a rightie neck???!!! or am i hallucinating.

just when i thought i'd seen every wacked out guitar he's ever played, along comes this...

  • it does look it, but, also, fender did release some guitars with an inverted kneck as such, but, its does look wierd....

  • When their 1st lp came out, Rolling Stone said,

"Cheap Trick sounds like what the Beatles would have sounded like if John Lennon was the leader"

  • its true

  • This is amazing. Dream Police is definitely one of, if not the best, album by Cheap Trick. It's also my personal favorite.

    ;D Thanks for the upload.

  • YES.........the best one of their ENTIRE career (besides, of course, At Budokan). Both albums came out right before their big career slump in the 80's.

  • A jewel! all u new schoolers, get some tips on how to write some cool tunes. Pop done right for me.

  • Thank you Cheap Trick, for all the kick ass music thru the years!

  • Wow, I forgot how many good songs they had! This one brings back memories for me.

  • Cheap Trick The best thing to ever come out of Illinois. Wanna thank my sister for letting me "scratch the vinyl" when I was a kid in the 70's. She turned me on to some great music Cheap Trick was a great part of that experience.

  • Still live in Rockford...they rock...enough said

  • Cheap Trick is one of the most influential bands of the 70s. The DESERVE to be in the rock and roll hall of fame

  • This song kool

  • love this song

  • Great lyrics...agreeed....a great pop tune

  • I just saw them at the Hollywood Bowl this past Saturday play the Sergent Pepper album...and Wow!...They were great! The last time I saw them was 'back in the day' at the Forum, New Year's Eve-Los Angeles. Some feelings never die---couldn't take my eyes off of Robin-no matter what he was doing! *sigh*

  • starting at 2:00, the emotion is almost too much to bear! what a superband, like a mix of the beatles and a speeded-up led zeppelin

  • I agree mc2NY, I have been listening to the band from the start and they deserve to be in the Hall Of Fame. They rock and I hope they keep rockin for along time !!!!!!

  • One of the BEST American Rock/Pop Bands EVER!! Killer hooks, unique image and one of the best rock vocalists to ever front a band anywhere.

It's a joke they aren't in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame yet.

  • I couldn't AGREE more! They are in it for the long haul. They've been through things that MOST bands that got half the shit they did, would've hung it up.

BUT, they LOVE playing and LOVE what they do...hence..They're still ROCKIN'!!

    Cheap Trick

    Cheap Trick

The Worlds Greatest Power Pop Band!

  • I want to disagree (although I'm in Cleveland and love Cheap Trick) about them belonging in the Rock Hall, but if the Velvet Underground, Talking Heads and Blondie can get in (and are just "very good" if rated like Cheap Trick, then it is unfair. And what about KISS for their legacy? or YES?

  • YES will never see the inside of the rock and roll hall of fame.

  • great band. poo-poo on those who think otherwise.

  • A great Hard Rocking Trick tune!!!

  • An extremely underated band. Aint that a shame. These guys were so good.

  • FYI to djmofoTX-CT is from Rockford, IL, not California. (Hence the name of last year's release, "Rockford").

  • Awesome song. Dream Police is probably the best Cheap Trick album. And the Beatlesque sound of this album is a stroke of genius on the part of Cheap Trick.

  • From the only place on Earth, California that could concoct such brilliant Pop Rock, Cheep Trick combines simplistic sounding melodies with incredibly intricate song writing skills. WOW!

  • Was this comment meant to be satire?

  • Yep. At least you caught it.

  • You DO know that they are not from Cali, right?! You got all the rest right though! Ha ha

  • i have two favourite songs from the "dream police" album, both; "dream police" and "way of the world"

  • That is a mystery. I've seen CT more live than any other band, and by a long shot... They define what rock' n roll is period. ZZ Top and Cheap Trick are the coolest guys in rock music...

    Bun E. odd? please!

  • awesome song and band but the drummer is kinda odd

  • Odd? He's Bun E. Carlos! He's one of the coolest drummers ever.

  • Fantastic band. Why did they never "make it" in the UK?

One of the mysteries of our time.

  • :*(

  • These guys were so unique when they hit back in the 70's. Truly one of a kind...gotta love the Trick

  • The early MTV days used to play this video a lot. One of my favorite bands!

  • I'm still looking for the Dream Police promo video.

BTW, one of my fave songs of this album is Gonna Raise Hell.

  • once again my boys from rockford are snubbed ..no offense to rem but the trick was here first..a trememdously influencial band ..rick neilsen is an incredible writer and musician.and robin well he is the shiznick!!!one of my true idols ..a great influence on me as a singer

  • A very good moment in the career of CHEAP TRICK.

"Way of the World" is a good song.

    Rock it!

  • My fave Cheap trick song out of a lot of faves.

    Thank you for posting this.

  • Cheap Trick is an extremely under-appreciated band. To be together this long says one thing; brothers. They are this old fart's favorite band.

  • Saw these guys when I was about 14. Nearly killed myself climbing over a crowd barrier to grab one of Rick's picks. thanks for posting, I though I'd seen all their videos. i was wrong.

  • I saw them on the Dream Police Tour, one of the best shows I've ever been to.

  • Rick may *act* like a dork but he's such an excellent guitarist its sick...Cheap Trick just generally rules...

  • Yeah, I know...thanks, that's why I put quotation marks around "The Judge".

  • Rick flipping off Rick.

That sounds a hardcore punk band.

  • HA HA! I never noticed Rick giving "The Judge" the one-fingered salute before. Priceless.

  • They are playing Japan in October with 4 dates.

  • Where's the video for "Voices?"

  • Yeah, where is the video for Voices?

    come on, post it!

  • great tune and very entertaining video....as usual

  • This tune kicks some major ass!

  • well, yes and no... Rick is the root of the band, but Robin's voice compliments it... when CHEAP TRICK plays, the world needs to listen... CHEAP TRICK ROCKS !!!!

  • rick neilsen acts like such a dork, but then again the band would be nothing without him.

  • Cheap Trick IS Rick Nielsen!! He is the "Spirit" of the band!!

  • They should have ALREADY been in the rock n roll hall of fame!!! Anyone know where or how we can vote? Or IF we can vote?

  • You can't vote on the HOF, unfortunaley. It's a closed, tight-knit community on industry people, who are totally out of touch with their constituents. The HOF is all record label politics and money.

  • Their new album isn't "Dream Police" but it's not bad! It's called "Rockford". What's weird is they have a track on it called "Oh Claire" (title of outro of Heaven Tonight), and a track called Come On Come On Come On ("In Color" Come On Come On)but they are totally different songs! Hope the boys aren't running out of song titles! LOL

  • Cheap Trick rock!!!!!!!

  • it's sort of a stalker song if you listen to it enought times. I mean think about it.

    remember..

you were at school and i followed you home

I know this is toatally random , but...

robin zander should wear leather pants.
